- Suddenly, this is our last video for a while! We have been going through a fair amount of stuff lately and we thought it was about time that we update you on how things are going... and turns out they were going a lot faster than we thought.

I was a premie born 3 months early. 1 pound 14 ounces. I’ll be 53 years old tomorrow and have no developmental issues. Truly a miracle in 1970 without the advanced technology we have today. Sending strength to your little one and to you both for a safe and beautiful journey into parenthood. ❤

Yeah I was three weeks early I’m fine as well short but developmentally fine.
And I was born in the 1970s and have friends who had premmie kids and they are all fine

I picked out that quote also. I've always been ashamed for crying but it is truly how I process things. So now I am no longer ashamed and I'm glad to hear that you recognize that as well.
Oh Leah. I had to skip ahead in the video to see the baby update, I’m going to watch the full video for you guys after. But Leah this is not on you honey, I hope you know you’re not to blame. Nothing you could’ve done❤ Our bodies are mysterious and babies are resilient and both your body and your baby just made it so you’d get to meet early ❤❤❤ you’re all good momma, you’re doing a great job. And you’re gonna knock it out of the park ❤
My wife asked why I was crying while watching RUclips. 🥺😭 But I was also smiling because you still manage to keep things upbeat. I'm surprised you didn't point out the fact your child could arrive on LABOUR DAY?! 😂

Have loved you two for a long time. My son just moved to college two days ago. Watching this reminded me of how I knew my life would change but didn’t know how. How my pregnancy didn’t go according to plan. At ALL. And neither did his childhood. How I feel so much wiser than I used to feel. And how I never knew how much more deeply I could love another human being. You are each good people. And you have a strong relationship. You are already great parents. Kids will keep you on your toes… they have no idea that our heartstrings are wrapped around their tiny fingers. I’m so sorry it’s scary right now. As another poster said - you have a whole world of people rooting for this child. Count me as one of them. So much love to you, baby, and your whole families!

That's a lot 🥺. I was a NICU mama, and it can be hard. Remember that baby is in the best hands possible and take breaks if you need them. CELEBRATE the birth of your baby! It feels like you miss that part as a NICU parent, and your family deserves to celebrate this new person, and they deserve to be celebrated ❤ sending love from Alberta. You are going to do great! My brother was a premie and he was in the incubator for about a month. Now he's a big and strong 22 year old! I'm sending y'all big vibes and this baby is gonna grow strong and big like Levi 🤗

Back in the late ‘60s, my mom failed a pregnancy test and consequently did not know she was pregnant with me until she was 5 months along. She only gained a total of 15 pounds, so I’m told. I came 3 weeks early, and was just over incubator weight. They were prepared for the baby to have “problems”. Turned out I had no developmental delays whatsoever. I know there are no guarantees and am so glad for the great health care you and baby are receiving. Just a reminder that medicine doesn’t know all, and babies love to surprise us! Praying for you all!
As a mom of 4 who used cloth diapers, the first couple of days use the disposable at the hospital, the first dirty diaper is not something you want to try to wash. Also I’ve bought that same stroller twice, it’s fantastic.

Yep the meconium is super sticky and will ruin your beautiful diapers.
Just my small input on cloth diapers . You really dont have to soak them in vinaigre and water. If you are breastfeeding. The poop is water soluble until the child eats. If not, you just use some little liners or you scoop it and rinse with only water but let it dry. If you soak them it might get some mold or the elastics might deteriorate quick.
A big wetbag with a zipper or just an open basket will work :)
Also congrats on becoming parents ! Its a beautiful rollercoaster and its true what everyone says … Time does fly by. My mini will turn 7 months really soon 😊

Was 11lb and early, biggest thing was all the clothing people gave, was to small.

Oh guys this brings back so many memories. Almost the exact same thing happened to me, baby was measuring small, growth scans, meeting with a consultant at 37 weeks on a Friday… we’re going to induce you on Sunday. Was the busiest Saturday of all time 😂 So grateful of modern medicine, he was perfect although fairly tiny 😅 We just celebrated his 4th birthday on the 1st of September! Hope everything goes well on Monday, sending love x

Sending you and the baby bean all the best as you start your new family paradigm soon. All my babies were early and my daughter just had her first baby last week - 2 weeks overdue! This is what I’ve noticed that is still consistent - the medical care for babies and moms remains amazing and incredible. You will be in learned and capable care. Best xo

I was born 3 months early in 1960. 1 lb 9 oz. I have no health issues. I even gave birth to 2 healthy children in my early 30's. Technology now is light years away from what it was in 1960. Your baby is going to be in great hands. Sending lots of love and light and prayers. ❤

I've never commented here, but I thought it would be nice to hear a good story in this circumstance. Something like this happened to me when my baby was not growing: placenta issues. I got super concerned as any mother would. I was induced at 39 weeks and my beautiful baby boy was born small, but healthy. He is 2 and a half, and having him is such a joy. It was scary, but how lucky are we to have modern medicine supporting us? Good luck in this new chapter and you have a beautiful family to support you.

I just watched your video during a long layover at SeaTac. We flew in earlier from Victoria. We had a wonderful 10 day vacation on your beautiful Vancouver Island, visiting Parksville, Ucluelet, & Victoria. We kept seeing campers with the big Maple Leaf on them and it made me think of you two. I know you are under a lot of stress right now, but you will get through it. I wish you all the best as you begin your parenting journey!

I flet it for you Leah. You have so much support and doctors who's gonna take care of you and your little one. Naturraly, my baby came two weeks early this last april, the overwhelming feeling to not being able to do all the things you had plan is undescribable. Take the time to live this little grief and try to take all the rest you can. I wish you two a good day for monday and the best labor you can have (its gonna hurt, obviously) but the simple way and the fastest tto be over with this not so great part to not knowing what is going on. A healthy baby and a healthy mom is all you need! Good luck and see you in a month or so.

Pregnancy is such a journey! Leah you are amazing. You are both amazing parents. All three of my kids came 2-3 weeks early lots of trauma for me as things were so out of my control but they are all healthy and thriving ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm so happy that you are receiving such great medical care. I recall going to my weekly pregnancy appt near the end of my pregnancy and the Dr. telling me to go straight to the hospital from his office to start induction. It was shocking and terrifying. I know exactly how you felt at that moment and sending big hugs. Can't wait to see the video with baby when the time comes. ❤❤❤

Good Luck!!! Just had an induction three weeks ago with our second kiddo, its a wild ride but you will both do great! Our first had to come early for medical reasons also and my husband had the EXACT same look on his face 😂 Also fair warning depending on how little baby is those NB diapers may not fit, cloth tends to run bigger than disposable.
