Wish I could find a trustworthy mechanic like you. I had this problem just over a year ago on my Astra, the problem then went away and just recently came back, with fan running all the time, I was told the ECU module needs to be fixed (over £200)... as it needs to be sent away. My engine error code was also P0115 coolant temperature sensor circuit 1 I believe the obd 2 stated. Car also seems to be running good apart from fan constantly running.
I have an Astra J and woke up one morning and car didn’t start. Assumed it was the battery. Called RAC who told me it was the battery and proceeded to try and charge me £180 for a new one. I knew it wasn’t the battery because I had one fitted a few years back and was covered under warranty. So took back to halford and they checked it out and said it was fine. Also had it checked at another garage and fine. Since this the indicators have stopped working both left and right and blink rapidly thereafter. The backs are working but no front. I have the service stabilitrack and other error light and more frustrating is the side repeaters won’t turn off. They are constantly staying on and having to disconnect the battery every night. I have checked the battery, alternator, fuses, bulbs, brake fluid, coolant and wipers all topped up. I’m really confused and is now really frustrating me. Any help would be much appreciated.
How's she goin'? This was an interesting diagnoses. Good for you to zero in on it pretty well right off the giddy up go!!! Thanks for sharing and take care!!!
I had the same - I left it , but now car stopped completely - they say BCM is gone , it was getting water from heat matrix , now sent my bcm for cloning and they couldn’t retrieve all data from it :(
I’ve just had the same problem yesterday and have put a sensor on it and still says the same what do you think it could be if it’s still on the dash thanks
I had the same problem when i changed the coolant bottle, it turned out to be the plug wiring that was corroded and i just replaced the plug that goes into the sensor, all sorted
I have the similar problem, changed thermometer A/C Singh deciphered, ac working, but fan continuously running, changed all censor, I have took the car to Vauxhall dealer to fix, but they're not sure which parts to change. Coolant water not circulating, radiator changed. Any help please
Hi, I have the same problem and mine is because of a faulty coolant temperature sensor. Sometimes, while driving, the temperature goes from 90c up to 130c or down to 50c and that gives me an ECU error and AC can't be used because the engine is overheated, when in reality it isn't, it's just an incorrect reading. In my case, I just stop, restart the engine and then everything is well. Happens once every 50 to 60 miles I would say.
I have the same issue on my 2013 astra. I have so far changed coolant level sensor & the coolant temp sensor but still have same issue. Could this be the thermostat causing it?
Think it means AC cant be used due to high engine temp, most likely is sensor but could be sensor is fine and ur engine is actually overheating so get it checked depends on your symptoms
The sensor is located next to the oil filter.
Thank you very much. This helped me immensely
Spot on diagnosis as always
Thanks bro 😋
Well done mate. A perfectly executed diag and repair 👍
Thanks mate 👍

Same issue here! What did you do to fix?
@@Rocky313Pal It turned out to be the thermostat, which fixed the problem
@@chasaston8254 Thanks alot!

Nice work. I have an issue with the fan running immediately when i turn the key, so the temperature sensor is the cause.

Easy one 😊 Thanks bud 👍

Valeu obrigado 👍
A superb job sir.well done.
thanks helped a lot, unfortunately my issue is intermittent so hard to figure out what's the issue, but at least I know the numbers now

Where's the other sensor located?
Nice work 👍. Battery maintainer, add it to the never ending list of tools 😜
Oh man tell me about today was one those days more tools 😉💵💵
Another Successful Diagnosis & Repair. Well done again. Pity you live so far away from me should I need your Expertise. 👍👍
Cheers mate 😊… where abouts are you ?
So much trouble from a sensor and battery drain... :) Hope you guys are well mate...
Absolutely mate 5min jobie, doing ok bud how’s everything ?
Is this the same sensor for a Mk6 2012, as i can't find one to order on line.
Hiya, the sensor next to the radiator, does that affect the fan in anyway? Can the sensor be faulty and the fan still spinning ?
I’ve just had the same problem yesterday and have put a sensor on it and still says the same what do you think it could be if it’s still on the dash thanks

Top job 👊👊
Cheers pal 👍
Great video you could of left it at disconnecting the sensor but good to see you doing the other testing 👍
Cheers mate yeah pretty much could I left it there , always a pleasure 👍
Would it not be dangerous to leave it disconnected? I ask because mine has failed for the 2nd time now 😑

Can a noid light be used to check the wiring .
Definitely but depending on the circuit I like to use a H7 bulb 👍

Did you manage to sort the issue? If so what's the problem?
Body control module needed to be changed and programmed to the vehicle.
Nice...👍.
Cheers bud 👍
Sorry for the delay in reply. 10 Miles outside of Liverpool 😉.
