Automotive Solutions that’s what I was thinking too mate still can’t believe it was this easy I spoke to the owner yesterday he said the car is running great I’m not complaining 😊🙌👍👍👍 thx for popping by
Hello there Igor!!! Nice trouble shooting and it turned out to be a easy repair!!! That scan tool is terrific!!! Sure helps with the diagnostics. Great job. Now get in the house and warm up some!!! Take care!!
Have you ever seen a temperature gauge go straight 90 deg from cold and car starts but cuts out straight away? It's a meriva like this one. Great video 👍
Yes I have... the ECU also uses the engine temp to regulate how much fuel the injector will supply so when the car is cold more fuel is supplied when the car warms up less fuel is supplied , now if the car is cold and a bad temperature sensor reports 90° operating temp , the ECU will supply less fuel and a lot of car don’t even start or if it starts runs really poorly or stall👍
@@td2290 I fitted a new coolant temperature sensor. It's on the housing to the r/h side of the cylinder head on my dad's 13 plate meriva. It was held in by a spring clip. Problem solved.
bro , i know this is old video but am having the same problem ive changed the cooling sensor ive changed the thermostat now i have a water pump but not yet fitted what do you this the prblem is ?# thanks
bodgit and leggit garage thanks mate I thought it was going to be a little bit more interesting with all the bits found in the car and the loom spliced up but very straight forward in the end... cheers 👍👍👍👍
I have a similar problem with Vauxhall Meriva 63 reg (fan turns on instantly), however my mechanic is suggesting that I need a new radiator but this is confusing me? Would you be case with an overheating problem?
OK. Bloody thing started to overheat. Stopped. Let it cool. Chucked in garage. Found main hose to expansion tank bot sealing. Did that. Did again. Got to garage. Expansion tank had a leak. Fixed that. Got back. Fan goes all the time. And on rock bottom on gauge. So will change this bugger and see what happens
I've too got a MAP thermoS that won't open, brand new, stuck closed. Tested OHMS.... , I've bought 2x Temp sensors yet arrive, I wondered if it was a bad circuit / ECU related woe, this could just be temp sensor bottom rad or engine side/both stopping MAP thermo open, my car boils over, rad system closed off, it's fine no thermo less straight through test, ......
Sorry pal but it's difficult for me to understand your question. The thermostat is mechanical that will open between 90ºc and 105ºC, now the best way to test the temperature sensor is looking into the live data and perhaps use a decade box , in he live data you should be able to see the block temperature sensor figures and radiator sensor figures as well , manipulating the sensor circuit with de decade box will tell if the circuit or ECU are bad ... I hope it helps 👍
@@CarsExposed THANKS, RE: manipulating the sensor circuit with de decade box will tell if the circuit or ECU are bad ... I hope it helps - I definitely need data ( graphed ) for sensors on circuit
Is this vehicle the diesel or petrol version as mine is the exact version your working but I don't have that large pipe. That you move to access the sensor location.
Mate, did you face any issue regarding the Air condition not cooling on this car? I have a 2013 Meriva B in Portugal and my air conditioning is not working, it is always in 26 degrees and I have checked the gas (full) + changed the internal filter but still not going below 26 degrees. Thanks a lot
Omg....you saved us time and money with this vlog. Thank you so much 👍
Outstanding troubleshooting and work there, thanks for taking the time to video and uploading, much appreciated, well done :-)

Thanks for taking the time to explain things in such detail.
Nice one. Your always trying to second guess why it went in the auction. Easy fix in the end.
