Useful and informative - some of those o2 sensors have a different multi plug but share the same sensor - “Bosch to name a few” maybe someone replaced it and bastardised the plug

You need to make a video of how to change the heater matrix of this car. There is not a single video anywhere. Ive changed everything on this car and it still over heats and also loses power (Acceleration is bad) the only thing i have not changed is the heater matrix.

The reason the fan kicks in higher than 100 (usually 108 give or take on these - I've seen 115 on some cars) is simple physics. Cooling systems run under pressure, this makes the boiling point higher. Add coolant into the mix and this also lifts the boiling point (as well as lowering the freezing point). 120 degrees plus for boiling point is not uncommon. The gauges always read 90 for the driver so as not to frighten the people that didn't listen during physics at school if they did it. Either that or it's just too long ago to remember 🤪 Sometimes on Vauxhall's this can go the other way, the fan never kicks in under normal driving. The reservoir cap looses it's internal pressure seal and the coolant therefore boils at a lower temperature than what the ECU is waiting for. A Vauxhall with a temp gauge is a thing to behold as well. To be fair on that car those pipes did look a bit stressed. Like a remainer the day after the referendum 😁

With the code 59 etc for windows always set the up position first if the cable is stretched and you send it down first the slider has a higher chance of popping off the bottom of the rail

    Great content.
I had to change an o2 sensor on an astra the other week. When i loosened it it took the threaded piece out the cat itself... Had to weld that back in before fitting the new sensor. I thought you may have had the same fault there...

Excellent video, as always 😄 only one correction: the radiator temperature sensor is placed on the radiator right hand side (just the same as the corsa D 1.2 you have shown few videos back). The connector that you have shown in the video is the thermostat heater 😉

hehehe we knows those cars here in US as chevy cruze. The computer by default turn on the fan high speed when flag trouble code in the cooling system. Heater element at the thermostat, any coolant sensor problem computer turn on the fan high speed. I see p0101 causing the cooling fan to go high speed too. I don't know what's General Motor mentality by running the fan to blast everytime money light go on. Good video.

you've just saved me 70 pound on a new stat, I was almost certain that the sensor on the stat was broken, I'm i right in saying the plug on top of the stat is the temperature sensor plug?. I'm not really that knowledgeable when it comes to cars but have done a little research on the problem, but this video has been very informative and the fuse indeed seemed to be my problem too except when fuse has came out a little bit and contact wasn't their and was not blown somehow, but will most likely change this as might of been damaged due to not been in correctly.

I have a 2013 Vauxhall Astra 1.4 Petrol and each time when I start the engine code 89 comes on and the cooling fan stays on constantly at full speed. And when I’ve stopped in first gear at a red light the engine shakes and makes a weird noise but when in neutral it doesn’t make the noise. I also have an engine light due to the thermostat but I don’t know if that’s the cause for the cooling fan to constantly stay on or do I need to change a fuse or relay can someone help me out !!
