Awww such a cute daughter story about how she’s looking out for Henry books for you. Wow I can’t believe how many books Glen Cook wrote-I love your project to finish out his oeuvre 💪
According to my research Glen Cook wrote 52 books. Which is incredible considering he worked a full time job at GM for his entire adult life. I'm looking forward to finishing it but I know I'm going to be sad knowing I have read it all. But then I get to look forward to re-reads for the rest of my life.
It brings me so much joy that you liked The Power of the Dog so much! My campaign for this books continues 😂 I was also surprised by how much I loved Emily Henry the first time I picked up one of her books haha I love that Happy Place was a Father’s Day present (sort of), that’s so cute Also yesss for Pierce Brown 🔥 you’ve read some bangers!
Awesome video brother. I bought Funny Story for my wife and month back and she just finished it. I might give it a go. The Power of the Dog was an absolute banger. Cheers.
Thank you! Funny Story is great. Emily Henry is a fantastic writer. I just finished her book Happy Place and I'm all in now. I plan on reading one of books every few months until I have read them all. Power of the Dog was THE banger! It is staying strong as my book of the year. I would overwhelmed and overjoyed if I found something that could unseat it.
Wonderful answers to the Mid Year Freakout tag! Congrats on your video blowing up! I’ve only read a tiny bit of Conan and need to revisit Howard someday. I read Happy Place this last month, and while I had some nitpicks, I agree that Emily Henry is a very talented writer. Hooray for reviews!
Thank you! If you want to read more Howard I recommend avoiding Solomon Kane(I read them all and they are not great). I'm going to read some of Howard's boxing stories next. His skill at writing action scenes should translate to boxing well. Even if Happy Place is half as good as Funny Story it will blow me away 😂. My next video is a review/reaction to everything that was nominated for the 1964 Hugo Awards(don't tell anyone 🤫). I read them all on a whim.
You just need to make sure you give the series a chance beyond book one. If you read Golden Son(book 2)and still aren't into it then the series might not be for you. I just happened to be locked in halfway through book one.
Great video man. I really need to check out The Power of the Dog. I'm sold, let me know when you're going to read The Dragon Never Sleeps! Peak Glen Cook sounds interesting to check out to say the least.
I will definitely let you know when I plan on reading The Dragon Never Sleeps. When I make a "Defining the Genre" about grimdark I will be including The Power of the Dog. It is intense!

Can't wait to pick up Power of the Dog. Yolanda and Carlos have been a huge part in me picking Crime fiction back up again after a decade.
They have reinforced my love of the genre.
They are the best!
More like Mid Year Celebration Tag 🥳
I don't know why it is called a Freakout tag.
It has been a good year so far 🎉
Ok, you’re sucking me in on Power of the Dog Joseph!
It is incredible.
I am worried that I read my book of the year way too early 😭.

So far I have really enjoyed all your book recommendations(and books you really like).
No pressure when it comes to keeping the streak alive! 😂

You might have pushed me over the edge into reading Red Rising.

@@JosephReadsBooks Somehow not surprised by that, I'm getting Sicario vibes from the way people talk about it, so definitely need to get to it soon.
@@OnlyTheBestFantasyNovels it has all of the Sicario vibes.
