You gave me a flash back of watching the news seeing that garbage of the 80s. I was just confused and luckily my parents were cool. So many of those M. Ont. these days. . . I have Beowulf on the shelf judging me silently for never read it.

June is gonna be a good month for you! I need to read Burning Chrome.
I'm super far behind when it comes to Suneater. I read Empire of Silence and then introduced the series to my Mom.
She read them all in a month 🤯.

I like the range of reading this month Joseph. I've read some romance for a book club I was in a while ago, good writing can carry any genre. I've heard Grace of Kings is amazing, I've only read a bit of epic fantasy but this one caught my attention, maybe some day.
Red Rising is an odd book in my opinion due to the 1st person narrative, but good story and action, kind of Sci-Fantasy. The later books go to 3rd person limited and expands the cast of characters and gets really good, I've read the 1st 4 books in the series, may go back and finish it when Brown finishes the series.

I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the books after Grace of Kings, but for now Westerns and Red Rising have their hooks in me 😂.
I'm going to slowly read all of Emily Henry's novels. They are such a great pallette cleanser. I just have to avoid reading them too close together so I don't get burnt out.

June is going to focus on two publisher series; Ace Science Fiction Specials series two and Gollancz’s SF Masterworks. Both are works in progress. Enjoy your westerns. Someday I want to read McMurtry and reread ‘True Grit’.

Weird how things happen. So I’m into ttrpgs and I started looking at Trail of Cthulhu. In the appendix the writer suggested reading John the Balladeer stories. That took me to Haffner Press which took me to your video on the two volume series. And now this video, you’re talking about DnD. Crazy.

The tabletop RPG to nerd fiction pipeline is a powerful thing 😂.
I hope you enjoyed the videos!

Seamus Heaney was a wonderful poet, truly one of Ireland's greatest artists but I've never read Beowulf.
I get such fomo about Glen Cook's books. Black Company was kind of a miss for me but I'm not ruling out his other works. What should I look into?
Hell yeah, Grace of Kings. I'm sad I've only 1 book left in the series. Red Rising is certainly a series that exists hahaha

With Glen Cook it depends on what you like.
He has written a little bit of everything in Science Fiction and Fantasy.
The Dread Empire is his third person limited Epic Fantasy series. It is very interesting but some parts suffer from their age. He started it in 1979. I really like it and I think he paved the way for series like Malazan.
The Garrett PI series starting with Sweet Silver Blues is really fun. It is a hard nosed Detective in the style of Raymond Chandler but in a traditional fantasy setting. I love them.
When it comes to SF Glen Cook has said that The Dragon Never Sleeps is his favorite book that he has written.
I plan on reading it later this year. It is a Space Opera.
