Another great paced and very informative video, really enjoying these videos and completely trust your opinions. Look forward to the follow up video, thanks again.
Thank you, Ricky! Lots of stuff on the way 👍
Recently discovered your channel and I think your videos are tremendously helpful! Planning to pick up the base M1 MBA later this month and your reviews have given great insights for my purchasing decision. I also enjoy the delivery of your content, it's real smooth and easy to follow. Cheers!
Ah, thank you! Means a lot. And glad I was able to help. The M1 MBA is awesome.
Thanks, you’ve given me peace of mind for splashing out for the M1 Mini. Excellent review, as always. Cheers
Pleasure! Thanks for watching.
Great reviews mate thanks
No, thank you ☺️
Another great video! Thank you
Thanks, Will!
Looking forward to your Mac mini review as very interested in buying one
Stay tuned 😉
You have the most beautiful voice! I could listen to you all day.
Waiting for a larger screen M1, in GOLD⚜️
Ah wow - thank you. Genuinely not sure I agree, but that's very kind of you. And you'll love your laptop!
I have an M1 Mini ..... with a 43 inch 4k display ..... ummm, HDTV.
I agree, and he's not bad to look at either, just sayin'
Looking forward to a real test of the mac mini. Can you try it in other programs then final cut?, we all now that its working well in that program.
Absolutely. Loads of stuff on the way on this over the coming weeks/months 👍
I have a Late 2014 Mac mini and have really enjoyed it. I've recently acquired a 2020 M1 MacBook Air and it's incredible. I'm excited to see where Apple is going with the M1 chipset and look forward to your review of the M1 Mac mini. Thanks again...
Glad you're enjoying it!
did the bluetooth issue gets resolved?
Great video, you have convinced me to pull the trigger on the M1 mini, could you kindly give a bit more info on the monitor please, model number etc.
Thanks, John! And well spotted. I've added links in the description 👍
honestly watching your videos helped convince me get the m1 mba! it's amazing
Glad I could help! And enjoy 😊
HI Mark, Love your channel, One Question, Can you do a review on Laptop stands. Regards Les
Thanks, Les! I’ve covered a couple of laptop stands in my previous accessory reviews, but I’m sure there’ll be more on the way next year ;)
Do you miss the higher resolution from iMac or MacBook Pro 16 while using this new MSI monitor?
Yes. Big time, at first. But your eyes adjust - even when you still use those retina screens occasionally. The screen estate more than makes up for the lack in dpi.
Have you tried it with Davinci Resolve and BM BRAW? My whole reason to move up from my 2014 MBP 15” for Blackmagic 4K BRAW video editing/grading.. (unpleasant on my laptop.. very unpleasant).
Afraid not... Although it runs Final Cut Pro exceptionally (no surprises there...).
I'm hopeful Apple will launch an M2 Mac Mini soon. I'm looking for an excuse to pick one up soon.
Hi Mark. That link for the keyboard... Are they sending from USA. I live in Uk. Do I have to pay taxes and customs? Many thanks for your reviews and time.
Hi! They do indeed come from the USA and I don’t think there were any customs or tax charges. Might be worth reaching out to them to be sure. I was very impressed with the delivery.
Hi Mark,
Love the channel. What is the keyboard you used in your MacBook Air review? The dark one with the red escape key. Thanks :)
Thank you! There's a link in the video description now 😃
@@MarkEllisReviews really sorry I could be being stupid but I don't see it. Is it in the description of the MacBook Air - 2 weeks later review? Don't see it...
@@MarkEllisReviews doesn't matter, just scoured the comments and it's a Keychron v2!
Could you please tell us something about the MB Air M1? Currently I am using MBP Early 2015 with the exact same MSI monitor. And while I am studying online, I'd like to run Adobe Reader, Excel, a Teams Videocall and OBS recording simultaneously. And I would like to know if the MB Air M1 with 16GB of RAM could manage that, because the above mentioned MB Pro from 2015 is unable to provide that, probably because of the connected wide screen monitor. :( But I would like to check that somehow, before I invest in the new MB Air. Many thanks in advance.
Great content mate you just gained a new amazed follower!
Thanks so much, Nick! The Air will breeze through that, no problem at all.
Thinking of buying MacMini though I have MacBook Pro 16. With M1X MacMini coming soon, I want to wait and see what it has to offer.
Interesting video
Thank you!
Do you order from Apple directly? I’ve just ordered a MacBook Air M1 (enjoyed your reviews!) and apple is quoting me 2-3 weeks for it to arrive. I can wait, but just wondered if apple exaggerates the amount of time or is this accurate? Keen to hear if anyone’s experienced this!
Thanks for the kind words, Esme! I do indeed order direct from Apple. Their delivery times have been all over the shop the last few months (for understandable reasons). I've found that sometimes stuff arrives early, sometimes it's several days after the 'confirmed' delivery date.
@@MarkEllisReviews interesting to know, thank you! I’ve only received an order acknowledgment so far, they’ve not taken payment or anything (?) 2-3 weeks seems so long but hopefully it’ll be the sooner end of that time frame!
@@esmetodd 🤞
iMac v Mac Mini would be an interesting comparison.
Wouldn't it just...
Amazingly enough I have seen a guy using a Mac Mini in a coffee shop with a 23 inch monitor and keyboard and mouse. Carried it in daily in a canvas beach bag.
😂 Wow. I remember seeing someone in a coffee shop with a 27" iMac once. Couldn't take my eyes off that scene.
Sorry, but my experience has been awful. I've a beginner coder, and I've had problems with EVERY IDE I've tried,. It has given me so much grief I can't start to explain. It is tiring trying to figure out all the little intricacies that are required to make programs work, like a magic line of code added in terminal to get Eclipse to stop it from not opening the second time you want to use it. I've been a Mac user for more than 10 years, happy to be loyal, until now. I've just purchased a PC to be able to finish my assignment after losing it with the Mac. So sad...
Apple is working on distributed graphics solution, and the processing farm can include your iPad.
Genuinely not sure what this means - can you elaborate please?
This certainly helped me decide on the M1 Mac Mini over the M1 Macbook Air. Just one suggestion though - the camera seems to be back focusing (on your chair)
Awesome! I'm glad it helped, Feroz. As for the back focusing, I actually have to manually focus my camera each time, therefore it's more likely a slight error on my part. As you can imagine, that's due for an improvement!
@@MarkEllisReviews what camera / lens combo are you using for the filming?
@@zoomnclick Sony A7 sii, Canon 17-40 f4 L (for a-roll)
$679 Mac Mini education discount
$899 MBA education discount
🤔 with $200 more, I get a 2k screen, trackpad, keyboard, microphone, camera, stereo speakers, fan gone.
HECK YEAH, OF COURSE I’D PICK MAC MINI
That's cool, dude, and clearly the route you (and plenty of others) need to take. But what if you don't want a laptop? What if you want (for whatever reason) a desktop machine and love the idea of something which you can tuck away on the desk and forget about? It's each to their own, mate - what works for one person may not work for another.
I picked up the baseline M1 Mac mini from offer up for $360 dollars, best money spent
Will you be selling your 16 inch?
Nope - it still sees use :)
“Apple to Apples” Lol 😂
Couldn’t resist it.
I don't get it. What does his mean?
@@phuonglm86 when people say apples to apples, it means that they are comparing equal things
@@iihamed711 thank you, LOL
once I finally get my (windows) desktop PC upgraded, I may consider getting an apple silicone mac mini, and after that get a mini PC to install Linux on, so that I have 3 OS's that I can switch between at the press of a button (KVM switch)
$1,100 I can build a great Pc already
Awesome!
"cause I have a bigger monitor lol"
Great Video but put off by your constant channel advertising at every opportunity, gets a bit boring we know what were watching!
Thanks for the feedback, Barry - genuinely appreciated. The transitions (which I think is what you're referring to) are indeed there to help brand my content (I want people to get to know the look and feel of the channel so that they tune in more often - I'll make no apologies about that 😉), but I'll keep an eye on it to make sure it's not too jarring.
Thanks for the quick response I’ve watched a few of your videos and like the content especially as I’ve just received my Mac mini M1. And MacBook Air on the way. 😁 You will get another subscriber if you can cut it down. Think the brand will sell its self.
Wooow so early here 6th comment 😉😉
Boom!
Early
BOOM
jesus get to the point
I’m not for everyone. If you think there’s a better way though, dude, start your own channel and have a bash. It’s hard work but a tonne of fun.
