I love how in the places they had actually more then 4 people rather then in the sims 3. Two people in the club and it's considered a hot spot. =_=
Sims 3 was decent but lacked some of the charms and personalities like 1 and 2
Yeah xD but you need to wait for a view minutes in sims time, there will be at least 5 people or more
But it's kinda more harder for them to come if they had a job as their routine
Now cars don't even exist in the sims 4.. lol
Walking will become dlc in a future expansion in the Sims 5.
The sad part is, I could kinda see that happening.
GoldenWind The Sims 5: Basic Fucking Needs Stuff Pack Collector's Limited Edition
Their probably gonna make an expansion pack about it for those juicy simoleons
They have cars in the sims: freeplay.......
The fact that cars & their animations get worse from 2-3 and then just disappear completely in 4 is sad , lol
I remember the helicopters from 2 ... you could have your own helicopter! And they were great. Imagine what they could have been like in 3, I was waiting for them to come with an expansion but it never happened. And now 4 ... urrgh!
@@FerDeLance06 Now I'm waiting for someone to make a spiritual successor to The Sims series, bringing in all of the good features from The Sims 2, 3 and 4. Rollercoaster Tycoon, Diablo and SimCity had spiritual successors in forms of Planet Coaster, Torchlight and Cities: Skylines, so why can't The Sims have a spiritual successor?
@@IvanovIvanAKrutoi there's a game in development right now called Paralives that, if the creator keeps the promises, could be the successor you are waiting for!
and in sims 1 you didnt even need them lol
Unless you really haven’t played the sims 2-3 at all, cus your comment is very telling. It’s also quite obvious that you’ve never even played the first one if you think the animations for 2-3 are worse 🤦🏿♀️🙄
So, why would you ever play any game at all? You can make the exact same argument there.
Like any game, it's fantasy. Escapism. Freedom from reality. You can do whatever the nuts you want without real consequences. And no one says you have to create yourself, you can literally create any life you want.
As far as it being better than real life... that's kind of the point for a lot of people. You can't have everything you want in life, that's just how it is. Why not pretend every so often?
At the end of the video I thought, "That's IT?? He missed the vampires, night clubs, matchmaker, love potions, new dating interactions, new flirting and breaking up interactions, wearing at restaurants, werewolves, Mrs crumplebottom from sims 1, woo hoo in the car and hot tub and photo booth, and a bunch of other new activities that came with nightlife @_@? "
Then I remembered... Its called the "LAZY game reviewer", lol.
Also, this is not an all-encompassing review, or even a review of any kind. It's an LGR Plays, which is me playing a game for 20 minutes or so, just so you can see what it looks like.
Yeah I just noticed the "Plays" part lol!
20 mins was about the amount of time I played TS3 when I first installed it before I got irritated and turned it off. :P
Wasn't werewolves in pets
I dont think so?? But maybe...you could be right. Been awhile since I played it though I still have all the TS2 ex's and stuff packs...
Actually kinda wanna reinstall it now...
mrmasteroflego Yep werewolves are in pets
i love your nukem voice
Lindsey Linford he does it sooooo well I love listening to him talk in duke’s voice it’s so funny 😂
I'll have to remember next time I forget my car keys, a TV remote works just as well.
I know i never noticed or forgot it looks like a tv remote. They just reused the anim lol
I need one of those
Seeing this makes me really wish _The Sims 4_ had struck a better middle ground between 2 and 3. It would’ve been so cool to have every venue be fully interactive and decently popular in a freely roam-able world, especially if it managed to run well. But no, it ditched nearly everything introduced in 3 before waddling off to do its own thing…
tons of sims show up to lots in sims 4 and there are no rabbit hole lots anymore or places you cant see. you, cam fully interact with all v3nues
People already complain about the sims games not running on their computer and how they can’t afford to get good enough computers. We can’t have everything because that would mean the game wouldn’t run.
@@Alecexo you literally don’t need a high end pc to run the sims 3, just one that is maintained and updated regularly and if you can’t handle that then run it from an external hard drive. This is coming from some one who’s now running the sims 3 on a 6 year old Samsung laptop with no lag what’s so ever. I never experienced the lag issues with my desktop when this game was first released either but I also take pretty good care of my pc’s and don’t bog them down with pointless applications, so I imagine that some of these complaints of people having extreme lag are from people who don’t even do the bare minimum in the maintenance of their pc.🤷🏿♀️
@@jonnnyvigil3236 I had a brand new HP laptop at the time I used to play the sims 3 and it would lag like hell so maybe it’s just your luck or maybe your computer just had decent specs but most people playing have really poor spec computers unless it’s a MacBook.
@@Alecexo I’ve been playing this game the whole 11 years it’s been out. I honestly doubt that it’s luck. I had no clue this game had complaints of the lag until I started being more involved with the sims gaming community online. Also, you’d be surprised of how much bloat-ware new pc’s come with, it’s ridiculous honestly and could be the reason why you experienced issues. Which brings me back to my initial comment, why are people blaming the game for if they aren’t paying attention to the required specs to run it? Idk. Also, I wish people would realize external hard drives are their friends - there’s a reason why they’re so popular with console players.
The music in this game is far better than the music in other Sims games. It's just so...upbeat.
Yeah the Sims 2 had the best music
I really miss how the sims 2 had more NPC's and random sims at community lots and sims that would just show up at your house...it made clubs and stuff more diverse and random. I really wish sims 3 was more like that :/
That made the game realistic... you could only visit at certain times...
I miss the quirky and fun style of The Sims and The Sims 2. The Sims 4 has no charm.
Wheres the sims 3?
Sims 3 was always a "meh" to me, I never got creative with its sims but I did do almost everything to do in it...
Sable Rain
Actually, the sims series lost that cartoon-like, looney humour in the Sims 3. I had to go back to playing the Sims 2 to notice it.
Sims 4 looks kinda cartoony, It also looks like its going back to some sims 2 stuff
Yonnimer I really got into it in Sims 3 the Sims 2 was charming but couldn't hold my attention. Guess we're opposites. ^_^
You are reminding me that as far as Sim games go, The Sims 2 was pretty legendary. It really was probably the best balanced experience out of all of them. There hasn't been a The Sims game I haven't liked, I think they are all good, but this one is the least complicated and contains the best polish. I do like that The Sims 4 is more of a throwback to The Sims 2, it's just a bummer that some of the detracting elements have created a lesser experience in some ways.
I appreciate the kind words. So thank you, glad you're enjoying! Plenty more to come, so stay tuned.
oh man the nostalgia is strong in this one!! I'm so damn pissed I missed the Origin selling of the ultimate collection of the sims 2! I really really hope they do it again
Ndcrocks I know this is an extremely old comment but I'll mention this anyways. You can still get the Ultimate Collection even today if you connect to EA's customer support. Granted, not all of the employees will give you the game so you might have to make multiple attempts. They might also ask you if you have any version of the sims 2 and if so you will have to supply the code or take a picture of the game. I was able to get the Ultimate Collection two years after the promotion expired and I only have the sims 2 and sims 2 pets on the PS2.
What I did was bought an account with it from Ebay for $8. They’re very common, and you can find at least 3 listings just by Googling “Sims 2 Ultimate Collection.” I had to switch between the two accounts whenever I wanted to play Sims 2, but at least I got to play the game.
Recently I contacted EA and they merged the two for me, so now all of my Sims games are on one account.
Or you can download it for free on games4theworld.com.
@@BeatleGirl37 I saw the $8 ones from Ebay. Did they actually work? And did it included every packs?
Jake S-T As long as you find a trustworthy seller, they should. Mine was basically just someone selling accounts they made that had the collection (from when EA gave them out for free a few years ago). But some people just sell the codes, though I’m not sure how that works.
Well, be happy with your TS3 cars, because there IS NO cars in TS4!
Yup you can fake a car by scaling up a toy car but there is still no cars. SERIOUSLY EA. At least I don't have the game
True
i miss the cars pulling out of the parking space properly
stop
actually if you go on origin and redeem the code I LOVE SIMS you'll get sims 2 and all expansion and stuff packs :)
Now you probably miss cars period... yay EA!
+lizzie brick it doesn't work anymore
Well at least we had cars in TS3
The reason you couldn't buy food is because your sims don't live Downtown. There was a bug where sims couldn't buy food in other neighbourhoods that was fixed at some point.
And the yellow thing was cologne! You click your sim and they spray it on and they spurt flowers and hearts for a while. It's supposed to boost chemistry but mostly it just looks hilarious.
Thanks for doing TS2 let's plays even if they're not reviews. We need to educate these TS3 whippersnappers.
random people fighting outside the supermarket? yeah that's actually not unheard of where I'm from so i kind of loved that about sims 2.
That’s one of my favorite parts. In Sims 4, no one does that. When you go to a community lot, everyone just swims or works out or eats. There’s nothing chaotic happening around you, and that has always been one of the best parts of the franchise.
I miss how cars worked on the sims 2 pulling out of garages and lots properly and sims actually going in and out of their cars and not teleporting like the sims 3 which is stupid and looks tacky
Auksinis Haskis Isn't that kinda what the Sims 4 does?
Well it would of been hard thanks to open world...
Ryan schone No, they made it hard for themselves because they wanted to allow players to put their parking spots ANYWHERE rather than arbitrarily forced to stick it to the road. They can't account for literally hundreds of different positions you could put the car, so they made it teleport instead.
Huh well the more you know!
2short99 Least sims 4 might do sims 2 cars
Strangetown was such a empty neighbourhood! Wow. No wonder I always used my own customised neighbourhoods. The one I'm playing at the moment has about 1000 lots (in total, counting all community lots, apartments, hotels and houses)!
HerHollyness you ever shared your neighborhood? I would love to see how it looks
My Strangetown is almost full now. The biggest thing that catches the eye is a gigantic Borg cube lol. Perfect neighbourhood for that.
I didn't have Night Life but, from the looks of it, a lot of sims come to the clubs. I wish that many sims would show up at the clubs in Late Night. I also wish you could go into restaurant in Sims 3 and go shopping at the store.
"who are you? jenny smith? to busy pillow fighting, dont care" i died XD
Omfg the karaoke bar part was hilarious 😂 the sponge baths, crying and brawl!! Gotta love the sims
Yeah, I'm planning on covering it and some of the other console and stand-alone Sims titles after I finish with The Sims 2 expansions.
"sims it looks like the put there face in a blender" best line ever :)
*their
"Duke is still at the bar, not ordering food". It's like some kind of fresh hell you're stuck in.
the alarm says, "your reason is sound, sir! Please take it." Why do I find that hilarious. Oh yes, I remember! Wine.
I love how the sims franchise has MANY unrealistic things such as vampires, witches, were wolves, fairies, sponge bathing on public lots, putting cars in your pocket, lack of toddlers, etc, but when confronted as to why men get barely any clothes they respond with "realism". What sims game has been 100% real? Ugh, I hate the Sims Studio's laziness. I prefer a nice blend of realism and unrealism, but not when it's being used as an excuse why certain genders/age groups barely get clothes. Anyway, I enjoyed random sponge bathing in TS2 wish it was in TS3 and TS4 (if it's there I never saw it).
That's why The Sims is unique and more better than other no lifer games such as Second Life, IMVU etc..
@@seniorsim2754 lmao second life and Imvu are not in category with the sims. Nice try tho
@@robertbonds6680 Paralives and Life by you are in the same category, which sounds like a no lifer games, btw this comment was like 5 years ago.
@@seniorsim2754 imvu second life and the sims two different things. Who brought up paralives I sure did not
@@robertbonds6680 Let's agree that all of these games you are arguing about look ugly compared to The Sims games, starting from the second game in the series ofc.
Was that a Nostaliga Critic reference? I am so happy
If I remember right, you could live downtown.
I think so, too
You can live in all of the expansion worlds, Bon Voyage was a bit different though I believe, only having holiday homes. Downtown though, definitely. Always lived there pretty much.
yes :}
To the people commenting 4 years ago, there was actually a mansion in downtown with a bunch of ressurrectable, non-broken Sims (as in, it was safe TO resurrect them): I found this out by accidentally making one of their living members part of my household.
Step 1: befriend a sim even gothier than the Goths.
Step 2: invite them over.
Step 3: have a cow plant with its cake out.
Step 4: when sim inevitably goes for the cake and dies, have Ressurrectotron and plenty of simoleons ready.
Step 5: have the sim who befriended them call up the Grim Reaper and resurrect them.
Now you have that sim as part of your household, but wait, there’s more:
Step 6: get confirmation by checking this sim’s family tree in the relationships panel (now, unusually, they’ll have a rather extensive family for being just a townie sim), this will tell you if you’ve got the right guy.
Step 7: with money and Grim Reaper phone ready, have that sim call up the Grim Reaper to resurrect a relative (heck, if you’re lucky, you could even roll that as the sim’s wish).
Congratulations, you just resurrected the entire family of the former owners of that mansion.
Absolutely, I'll be covering the remainder of the expansions. Just not sure when, I've been crazy busy as of late.
I think cars are what they are in sims 3 because of parking spaces can be placed anywhere on the lot, and lots aren't actually tied to streets like in Sims 2, so they had to sacrifice animations.
It doesn’t mean that they couldn’t have had animations for sims getting in and out of their cars. I think they could’ve even implemented the parking animations where there was a clear path between the parking space and the road, and only used the fade in/out when there wasn’t.
I agree, EA was kind of lazy in that and a lot of other aspects of sims 3. They litterally recycled half of the animations from sims 2 lol
LGR: Sugar Cube Bowling...? Not entirely sure.. What that implies..
Crazy Pink Haired Woman: *(Tackle Glomps LGR as soon as he gets out of the car)*
Sponge bath DLC when?
I REMEMBER IT SO YOU DONT HAVE TO~
Nostalgia Critic :D 💕
Doug walker!!!!!
OMG the sponge baths!
I seriously lost it when they both gave themselves a sponge bath.
How is every single word that comes out of your mouth entertaining? I don't get it
I noticed that too. I prefer him over some other you-tubers because unlike them he doesn't curse and say degrading things.
Weird
Blindgirlscout69 I want to marry him just for his voice. Its so soothing
that still happened in sims 2 i remember getting cc hair and i went to one of the clubs and the bar lady was wearing the hair
“I will remember it for you” is a reference to the Electric Monk from Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency by Douglas Adams.
lol i remember that poker table was like crack for my sims i couldn't get them to do anything else
I still prefer sims 2 than sims 3
Micheal Pena The build and buy mode is almost the same in both games and i'd take short loading screens over a somewhat laggy town that feels like its loading half the time
Micheal Pena LMAO. Dude, all of the sims in the sims 3 had the same height. EA really needs to add height sliders tbh.
Micheal Pena Nope. There's a cheat for it, but otherwise, no.
But The sims 2's stuff looks more interesting
And you can have sponge baths :3
I had the Sims 2 Deluxe edition and man.... it had late night nd wedding sets and it was so nice to have a good start. I added seasons, university and my poor computer was dying yet the game wasn't as laggy as Sims 3 can be. Then I added some crazy cc and let me tell you, even though it was lagging, it was awesome. I made some sort of rpg dungeons and each member of my family had to go through different rooms and survive. I had witches, plantsim and werewolves, etc abd I also made a tavern ~ Sims 2 had awesome cc to get crazy creative. It was surely the funniest game.
I had the deluxe edition as well as the Pets pack, when I was 8 years old. I always loved breaking the game using "testingcheats". I would create vampire werewolves, impregnate them woth aliens and then I would "burn down" the Sims' house.
P.S. I actually love how easy is to start a fire in Sims 2, while in the later games you really have to try hard to start one.
i like how in the sims 2 sims are more out and doing things unlike the sims 3 and how the have more fights lol. its more realistic in my opinion cause people get in fights all the time. i hope the sims 4 is more like that with a crap load more sims in our worlds!
Sims 4 is a downgrade
Shuwen Li Hope you're ready for "The Sims 4: The Actual base game" expansion.
Disagree. Sims 4 is much more like Sims 1 and 2 than 3. Sims 4 is almost like a Sims 1 reboot
leftyfourguns yeahh with updated graphics
The website and download/update/exchange servers were, yeah. But it's not an online game, so you can still play!
I'm the Nostalgia Critic- I remember it so you don't have to.
I think you are so funny! I love the way you speak and ad lib through this stuff. You bring a different perspective to the Sims, definately, and I absolutely love it, you make me laugh and appreciate you !! REALLY, you see I find you are serious yet show humor through this kind of review and it brings life even more life to the Sims than ever before. Please keep doing this, I need to have laughter, seriousness, all in one kind of production to understand the Sims, Love the enthusiasm, thanks
I really appreciate your love for the sims! Everytime I tell people I play the sims, they turn it down like it doesn't count as a game. I love watching your reviews, you're freakin' hilarious man. Keep up the good work as you deserve a big thank you!
I love listening to you talk haha I usually put your videos on in the background while I draw/do homework. Love your videos!
oh my god i love you lgr plays. especially the sims ones. absolutely hilarious. i applaud you sir.
The dude taking a sponge bath ahaha
Same here! My whole summer used to be filled with The Sims. Now whenever I hear music from the old games, that's all I can think about haha.
When you can go....dowwwnnntooowwnn!
13:40 Duke's too cool, it's intimidating, it's no wonder nobody wants to be on stage with him.
I remember I had soooo much fun on the Sims 2 with all my expansion packs, there are some elements of this game that I really miss.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane! I don't recall quite so many sponge baths when I played! Your commentary as always much appreciated.
Some kind of science bench you can make a potion to bring up you moods
Yes, there's a video covering it on my channel...
THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!!! I love your game play and I got a snow day today. I am running out of good videos in my subscription box already! :(
The "yellow stuff" is like cologne or something, it increases your chemistry with people, and you can buy food at the grocery store when your fridge is empty at your house! Awesome gameplay, been subbed to you for a while, find you hilarious yet informative :')
This was by far the best sims 2 ep.
I remember me and my cousin would play this all the time and he would always name one of his sims Harry Dickey and we giggle all like, hehehe, and I was "the master of romance". Ahh the memories.
hah yea that was so funny haha been so long and so much new "GENERATIONS''
Bowling alleys reminds me of Roman Bellic when he calls Niko: "Cousin! Let's go bowling!"
This made me laugh so hard the spongebath part , keep the videos coming man youre great!
I'm always very very happy when I watch your videos! Your voice is so nice and calming! :D Thank you for uploading this! I love the Sims 2! Nightlife was awesome!
Thanks for making my life better i love your videos even with you and pushing up roses :)
It's in the video description :)
Considering how many I respond to, what do you think? :)
HAHAHAHAHHHH the recurring sponge bathes killed me, I can't get rid of this hiccup, ohh man you're killing me.
I think it's perfectly reasonable that the Sims 3 "ripped off" the Sims 2's expansion packs, seeing as they were GOOD expansion packs that contained features people very much enjoyed. If they hadn't added these features to the Sims 3, a lot of people would be pretty upset. I know I for one was glad for Late Night, Seasons, University Life, as well as the more original expansion packs. I think it's how a game sequel should be: repeat what was good about the original, then add new things, too.
jenney smith was the wife of Mr. Smith Mr. smith is an ailen the moved to stangetown because people are suspicious of Jenny's husband
Hahahaha, 8:57... Every fucking time.
And your impeccable Jon St. John imprssions make these an absolute joy to watch.
I remember waiting 15 min on my crappy pc for my sims to arrive in town. I loved the Sims 2 and played it for years, but once I started with the Sims 3 I never looked back.
Did he open and close his car door with a TV remote?! :')
Dude your voice is amazing. Sometimes, I play one of your LGR Plays late at night, just to hear your voice as I fall asleep.
I've been thinking about The Sims 2 a lot recently, and decided to watch some of your older videos. The music in the background at the grocery store (23:45) brought back this memory from when I used to play and thinking it was in the movie Milo and Otis. I just looked it up and discovered I was right, but I also learned some sad and disturbing things about that movie! (the music is Serenade by Franz Schubert)
Yeeeeah I loved that movie as a kid but after learning about its creation as an adult it’s… hard to revisit to say the least
@@LGR I seriously hadn't thought about that movie in years, it made me feel sick learning more about it. But side note, thank you for all of your Sims videos, I enjoy watching them!
6:10 I LOVE that picture of strangetown! The good ol' days TwT
"Why is is it so dark?"
NIGHTlife, maybe.
I’m really late but this pack gave you so much for the pack, I’m pretty sure you had vampires too
Man, can't tell how much i love the music of this game :D
I swear these are my favorite LGR videos!
'it's time to cut that wax' has been something i have said when i see video game record player since i saw this video years ago
0:35 The Sim Critic! He remembers expansion packs so you don't have to!
probably my favorite sims 2 expansion pack
I've never seen the sponge bath interaction so many times. In all my hours of the Sims 2, I think I've only seen it once while I was actually playing.
GHEEZ, this is great! No One has ever responded to me, this is awesome....you are so awesome. I am partial to your voice and the way you go through the video like a DJ. I can't hardly sit and watch without giggling like a school girl over the way you say things. LOVE IT, Thanks for the reply!
-"I'm Duke Nukem, you gottalikeblaughagha"
Wow, Duke Nukem being rejected...that could totally destroy his ego.
Oh, also, you can customize radio stations in Sims 2. You can add your own music to any station you want (even the list of build/buy/neighborhood/create-a-sim music) and even turn off any songs you don't want to hear. You can add custom music in Sims 3 but that's it, and you'll only hear it on one station. It's the little things that make a big difference in these games.
They removed animations in the sims 3 so it runs better. Still runs pretty badly tho imo lmao
Love watching your game plays of Sims 2!
"This is the sponge bath episode." Made me laugh harder than I should have. I love the Sims.
This brings back so many memories for me. The sims 2 was the 1st sims pc game i got. i really hope they bring back all these features of sims 2 back in the sims 4 such as just seeing the chef & having waiters to actually using your car you spend so much for. & i hope the sims 4 runs as smoothly as the sims 2 did. Im about to dig out my sims 2, dust it off & play :)
I never laughed because of a video before, but this was just HILARIOUS. Totally made my day.
These videos are great! :) You have a great sense of humor!
"Put through a blender" The 3D mesher inside of me giggled at that for a whole other reason.
Hands down, one of your best LPs.
Love that Schubert tune near the end
This is one of your greatest videos ever
These videos are simple, but fun. Thanks for the entertainment.
The sponge baths lol
