Selection Tool, Copy/Paste definitely should be on the top list. How can you animated without a Selection Tool, even big companies like Disney uses this. Frame by Frame is good but we are living in 2023, it’s way for easier and advanced ways to animate.
I agree, but those functions are coming. According to roadmap discussions, the Procreate team has said the following (folio.procreate.com/discussions/3/6/58248): While destructive transform, selections and merging were features that were intended for version 1.0 of Procreate Dreams (and there's nothing on this list that's a higher priority), the challenges we encountered when working with 1M x 1M pixel drawings forced us to delay this until an update. We know how important these are for creating your animations, we’re working to get these to you as soon as possible. - Transform and Selections - Merging layers and tracks - Group blend modes/opacity in Layers Panel - Flipbook improvements - Better video preloading and realtime playback There’s other big features still coming that we’re already playing around with, such as Scenes, Camera and custom easings. Thanks for reading and for all your feedback so far. We’re listening and we’re still working hard.
Hello David, since I am not dedicated to teaching, a function that you did not mention is to double click on the timeline with the pencil and create a new farame key. Greetings, I am from Argentina and this is a Google translation.
A life saver just needed that stabilization power and here it is 😬 well their developers are pretty fast at working and updating the software. Well let’s see what’s next
It looks like the brush resolution still isnt fixed. Take a pencil brush (or any brush with significant/visible texture) and draw on the canvas, then zoom in by a significant amount and draw again. Compare the two strokes and youll notice the huge difference
I don't get why stroke smoothing wouldn't be there in the first release. In a program based on drawing it would seem that smoothing would be a base feature, especially since procreate vanilla has it. Kind of like releasing a car model and adding the steering wheel as an update
I agree. I assume they set the release date and just couldn't get it in by the deadline. I have a bigger issue with the lack of layer functionality. I'm working on a new video about masking, and the inability to drag layers to reorder them is really a problem. I'm sure that functionality is coming, but it is very limiting at the moment. Thanks for watching!
A simple request for the overall UI: boost the contrast of the timeline! It would be nice to be able to actually see the different layers when there isn’t an art asset present, not to mention the frame numbers up top, which are now practically invisible. Procreate needs to get over the Apple attitude of style over functionality. I love Procreate and I suspect Dreams will become a favorite too, but geez, you have to be able to USE it, not just admire its beauty.
I haven't thought about this before, but you make a great point! With everything black and red in the timeline, it can be difficult to see what you are doing. I checked Dreams' properties, and I don't see a way to adjust the viewport UI settings. Maybe it is coming at some point in the future. I checked Procreate, and it has the option to turn on a Light Interface setting, which would help a lot in Dreams. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for this video. I’ve been going crazy for days following a tutorial bc the draw feature didn’t extend until end like in their video & how I previously remembered it doing it. I deleted & reinstalled the app so many times bc I thought something was wrong with the app.🤦🏽♀️
I can see where that would be confusing on videos created before the update. I hadn't thought about it being a problem. Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
I agree. I was working on something today, and I couldn't create the workflow I needed because, while layers do exist, they can't be rearranged at the moment. I'm sure that is coming at some point in the near future (I hope). Thanks for watching!
I'm not certain about other apps, but Procreate Dreams is compatible with numerous iPads. I've included the Procreate Dreams iPad chart below from their website. I'm using a 2020 iPad Pro (4th generation), so it isn't a a new one, and it runs Procreate Dreams without any issues. Device>Number of content tracks>Render limit iPad (10th generation): 100 tracks, 1 trackup to 4K iPad Air (5th generation): 200 tracks, 2 tracksup to 4KProRes iPad Pro 11-inch (4th generation): 200 tracks, 4 tracksup to 4KProRes iPad Pro 12.9-inch (6th generation) : 200 tracks, 4 tracksup to 4KProRes iPad (9th generation): 100 tracks, 1 trackup to 4K iPad mini (6th generation): 200 tracks, 1 trackup to 4KProRes iPad Pro 11-inch (3rd generation): 200 tracks, 2 tracksup to 4KProRes iPad Pro 12.9-inch (5th generation): 200 tracks, 2 tracksup to 4KProRes iPad (8th generation): 100 tracks, 1 trackup to 4K iPad Pro 12.9-inch (4th generation): 200 tracks, 1 trackup to 4KProRes iPad Pro 11-inch (2nd generation): 200 tracks, 1 trackup to 4KProRes iPad Air (4th generation): 100 tracks, 1 trackup to 4K iPad (7th generation): 50 tracks, 1 trackup to 1080p iPad mini (5th generation): 100 tracks, 1 trackup to 4K iPad Air (3rd generation): 100 tracks, 1 trackup to 4K iPad (6th generation): 50 tracks, 1 trackup to 1080p iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation): 200 tracks, 1 trackup to 4KProRes iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation): 200 tracks, 1 trackup to 4KProRes iPad (5th generation): 50 tracks, 1 trackup to 1080p iPad Pro 10.5-inch: 100 tracks, 1 trackup to 1080p iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2nd generation): 100 tracks, 1 trackup to 1080p iPad Pro 9.7-inch: 50 tracks, 1 trackup to 1080p iPad Pro 12.9-inch (1st generation): 50 tracks, 1 trackup to 1080p
Hopefully, the way they added stabilization to the properties menu rather than on each brush will make it more universal; however, I can't say for certain since I haven't tried on all brushes. Fingers crossed!

The day they add lasso tool and copy paste layers, i will be the happiest man alive!
I agree about both of those, especially layers! Thanks for watching!
NEED THE LASSO TOOL RIGHT NOW PLEASE
Agreed! I ran into an issue today because I didn't have it.
I swear we do need those!

Great tip! Thanks for adding it!
Custom Frame Rate THANK GOD
Agreed! So much better now! Thanks for watching!
Looking forward for the video about 1.0.7
Thanks for watching! I should have that video out in the next few days.

Yes, they seem to be moving fast! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the updating us
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
I purchased it but will wait for them to add more. I definitely use layers I find it odd those are missing.

Thanks for the update =)
Happy to help! Thanks for watching!
Day 22. Still waiting for a lasso tool.
I hear you! With the latest updates, I feel confident they will continue adding features quickly. Fingers crossed!
I noticed no stabilization in some of Procreate’s brushes, not just Dreams.
Hopefully, the way they added stabilization to the properties menu rather than on each brush will make it more universal; however, I can't say for certain since I haven't tried on all brushes. Fingers crossed!
I just released my first short 2d animation using Dreams
I hope you like it
Great style! Very professional looking!
Happy you liked it 😊
You don't needto go in the search bar to get an app update. Just click your account icon and you'll see the app updates in there.
Yes, that method works, too! Thanks!
Thank you, David 🙏
