    I'm so pleased you get the early release of the Eflite models now, Mike. Silent pure skill really shows the planes off well. What I have noticed, and am quite jealous of, is that you seem to live somewhere where the early mornings are completely without wind. I find the slightest breeze really unsettles the little UMX ones, and where I am in the UK it is rarely completely still air. Great video, thanks

      I’ve been very fortunate that E-flite has sent me a couple models in advance. I’m not sure if this will be a regular occurrence but I have enjoyed doing videos for them. I would guess that we are lucky to get 1 decently calm morning per week in the winter and spring. Once summer gets here most mornings and evenings are pretty decent. I waited almost two weeks for a calm morning to get video of the UMX Air Tractor and even then the temperature was only 28F. Thankfully warmer weather lies ahead.

    You can totally add a bigger battery too! Because its a heavier battery you'll need to mount it farther back inside the fuselage. Glue some card stock/index card material into the fuselage as a tray/cover over the flaps servo & receiver. 3s 950mah can do 15 minutes easy. Also handles the wind a little bit better. Cheers!

      Thanks Will! You would chuckle if you saw what I us to get video. I have a homemade bracket that I made from balsa wood that is bolted to the bill of a ball cap. I strap my iPhone 11 into it and shoot the video. I then either edit the video using iMovie on my phone or airdrop the video to my iPad and edit it on there. When complete I upload directly to RUclips.

    Wow, Michael - another amazing presentation! I personally find the air tractor an ugly model, but you really make it shine with your aerobatics performance!
    Would you say that it even outperforms the UMX Timber Evo? (I‘ll go for the Timber anyway, just because of the looks ;) - still I‘m curious)

    • @michaelclinerc3211
      @michaelclinerc3211  Год назад

      Thanks Alexander! I agree that there are better looking planes than the UMX Air Tractor but it does fly amazingly well. But, the UMX Turbo Timber Evolution is also a great flying plane. About the only maneuver that the UMX AT will do that I haven’t been able to get the UMX TTE to do is a pop-top and inverted flat spin.

    I really like this plane, except that it's made out of EPS foam. Why does HH keep making their UMX planes out of EPS, when EPP is so much more durable? I guess they just want people to break their planes and come back and buy another one. Some people will, but I won't.

    • @michaelclinerc3211
      @michaelclinerc3211  Год назад

      Dave, while I agree that EPP is somewhat more durable than EPS it is heavier. HH has stated many times that they would like to make these planes from EPP but weight becomes an issue.

    • @davescott9409
      @davescott9409 Год назад

      @@michaelclinerc3211 I simply don't buy that. I've looked at alot of models made out of EPS, EPO, and EPP, and I'm seeing other manufacturers make light weight models out of EPP. I own two made of EPP and they're light and super durable.

    Nice flying as per your usual Bro. Question for you. Do you record your first flight, or do you fly it a few times to get a feel for the aircraft and then record a flight? Inquiring minds want to know.

    • @michaelclinerc3211
      @michaelclinerc3211  Год назад +2

      Thanks Bro! My first couple flights are typically pretty boring as I am trimming the plane, changing up the control throws and fine tuning the center of gravity. Then I’ll have a couple flights slowly increasing how aggressive I fly to determine the limitations. Then I’m ready to video. So usually about flight number 6 or 7.
