    I love these install videos done by companies that are selling the products.
    Because if they weren't selling the product this video would literally be three days long, and demonitized due to foul language.

    At the 0:34 mark it says "Safely Jack Up Your Fiesta" but the back end of the car is literally sitting on a stack of bricks. A fcukin stack of bricks. What the WHAT? In case it's not clear, that is not safe. Don't do that, folks.

    Here is my take on the DP install I just did myself. First off PATIENCE and take your time! DON'T destroy your heat shield over the manifold! it will come out I just bent one corner a bit to get it out then re-bent it back to re install. YES you can reinstall the heat shield and YES you should!! I have no idea why this video doesn't show it and I have no idea why some are saying destroy it... Take your time and re install it after all your intake pipe runs right over that manifold. Another note at least for me the DP heat shield- 2 bolts on the side I just at the driver wheel off and ran a really long extension in to get them off super easy and no need to fight with everything around it. To me the worst part of it all was trying to get the stock DP out! If you have any way at all to use a lift do it even if it means putting the install off for a bit totally worth it! If you do it without a lift do yourself a favor and use jack stands not bricks or worst case just jack the front up on stands. Have fun!

      Which corners of the heat shield did you bend? The upper or lower. How far on the corners? Also which way did you rotate it when you were pulling it from the top? Just tried all sorts of angles and had no luck

    This is why all the exhaust shops near me are quoting me higher than usual prices.. my gti full intake install was $200 I was just quoted $320 to install the down pipe..after watching this video it seems like this is a pain in the ass

    Now take your whole engine apart in your garage.
    Now install the down pipe

  • @Ichibuns
    @Ichibuns 8 лет назад +5

    You put the gasket for the downpipe on backwards. Those things usually only go one way. Can cause possible fire too

    Haha, they just played the original clips backwards for the re-install part.

      +Tim Wolf I don't think so. You're supposed to slam all the parts down afterwards when you're reinstalling them.

    • @timr86868
      @timr86868 8 лет назад

      +AzNightmare I suppose you're also supposed to do a little witchcraft to reverse gravity so the bolts jump up off of the ground and into the hole too

    • @AzNightmare
      @AzNightmare 8 лет назад +1

      ***** not jumping off the ground, he's flicking them up with his foot. It's just off screen.

      +AzNightmare did you reinstall the heat shield? or know why it's not installed back on? I'd assume you def want that back on so slightly confused why it was left off? I'm installing my DP tomorrow and can't seem to find an answer to this... Guess i'll find out myself tomorrow lol!

    • @AzNightmare
      @AzNightmare 8 лет назад

      Aaron Joslin No idea. Sorry, I haven't done this install myself. Let me know if you figure it out afterward. Thanks.

      Aaron Joslin Ok. Please remember. Like actually remember. Because 99% of the people on RUclips or forums say they get back to a question, or say they will post images later, etc.. And then never follow up.

      +AzNightmare i have intentions of it because i've been searching all over for an answer and can't. but worst case shoot a comment on here and i'll get the notice from youtube. Downpipe , exhaust , turbo smart bov intercooler and rear motor mount i'm doing tomorrow. i'm dredding the downpipe just because it looks like a pain in the ass.

    I got an atp catless downpipe coming friday and a mbrp catback coming tomorrow but no one shows an atp downpipe install besides that kid and I couldn't bare to watch it. Should I just do both installs together? I'm also ordering the symposer delete since the car will be loud enough now to not need that fake odd humm

    Question. You have not used the heat shields in the installation process... why? Are they not there for a reason?
    Only asking as I am looking forward to upgrade my car as well.

    • @Aaron-nn8vk
      @Aaron-nn8vk 8 лет назад +2

      +MicroAlex I just did this install myself take your time with it and be patient. I bent the edges of mine a bit to get it out and re bent it all once I had it out because I was going to see if it would re install. it def does and I would 100% suggest you install it back help keep that heat off the header away from your intake and just help deflecting heat period,

    IS no one going to talk about the foam pads around the cowl vents? I live in Canada and would love to not have them fill with snow. NExt they will tell me there is a foam piece for the top of the rear hatch to keep snow out.

    Few things, 1 the heat shield is a bitch to get off. I recommend bending the shit out of it and disconnecting the coolant hose, and the heat shield isn't even installed with the new dp. You need to remember to put all the bolts used in the heat shield back into place. 2. more tools are required for the job than was listed. 02 sensors won't come off with out some sort of delocking spray(like pb), a pry bar, and and 02 deep socket.
    And for anyone debating on buying a Cobb dp vs buying a cheaper brand like MAP, stop debating and buy a Cobb. MAP doesn't come with required bolts or instructions.
    Another word of advice, this takes some time to do, plan for it being a whole day evolution.
    Once it's done right it is a noticeable difference.

    what about the heat shield? I mean won't the engine compartment get hotter with the headers showing?

  • @growinshadow
    @growinshadow 25 дней назад

    I have done this in a few hours and cut both heat shields to get them out.
    The cat was the worst part to get out what a stupid design. Cost me a few nerves and some cuts in my hands.

    If the car is stock and you install the downpipe, do you need to do software? Or is the software just deemed as an optional upgrade?

    you guys didnt mention reinstalling the heat shields...do you scrap them? also the intake boot was halfway pulled out while you were reinstalling the O2 sensor plugs, did you fix that? any dyno sheets for the install?

      You and I are in the same boat. My next set of mods is DP an exhaust, definitely don't trust my local shop. Things would be cut and zip-tied back together, I'm certain... Might just wait for that Fiesta ST header, first.
