I'm sure you hear it now. You can hear a definite difference in the tone of the truck. Definitely doesn't sound like a Hemi with MDS on.
If you get around to doing the V6 eFan swap on your V8, there is room for the mechanical fan and the Efan. That is how I have my 2013 ram 2500 5.7 hemi set up. I dig your videos on that radio. I have one coming in in January. It’s the 4 gig memory and 128 gig internal storage model with android 11, hope I can get to do everything you did with yours and mine you can clip off your V8 eFan wiring, and use that to extend your harness for your V6 eFan. Hey... Not sure if you have the answer to this but does disabling the mds with the tuner cause and ill affect to the lifters? Im putting in a reman that has the newer hellcat type lifters and just trying to get the best lifespan out of this engine. To expensive to swap out in the GCherokee with the 5.7. Thanks for your time.
Yeah, I've been manually turning off the MDS because of a bad rumbling from the engine if it's on when switching from 4 to 8 cylinders. But now I've read that with the MDS off, oil lubrication to certain cylinders is diminished and can cause lifter problems. I'd like to know if this is a problem or not because I don't want to ruin the engine, yet it runs crappy with the MDS on. I had my truck checked out three times, twice from the dealership and they felt and heard what I was talking about and the answer I received was that it was just the characteristic of the truck. Not acceptable, because the truck runs crappy with it on, but if turning it off will ruin the engine, then what the heck?
I saw the same video that demonstrates that with deactivation turned off they do not get the same good oiling. Not jacking with mine unless I have to exchange lifters to non MDS in future. With gas going up by the day I like the 26 mpg Hwy.

That the problem in general. It’s oil starvation at idle. Deleting and removing MDS wont stop that. To fix the oil starvation problem you need to have the idle rpm raised to 700 so it will create enough pressure to properly feed the heads with oil.
You can fix that problem completely by replacing the oil pump with a milling oil pump that produces more PSI at idle
