What a colour, John can certainly paint I have painted many cars and started when I was 14 and always wanted to be a proper painter but my life choices I paint many things these days and the details with gun and pressure I hope to remember when I do my next painting And especially how he puts the clear on , I now know why I have had some clear runs Thanks for the fantastic video and hopefully next year I will get my falcon done 😍😍👍👍👍👍
Howard your a perfectionist mate the level of detail is out this world as panelbeater myself but been out of the game for 30 yrs as a lot has changed I feel like a 🦕 keep the video coming bud they definitely put a horn on a jellyfish 👍🏻
Unbelievable that you’re still going to hit it with sandpaper and polish it, already looks so smooth nothing would stick to it. Great informative video thanks Howard.
Mate, I almost choked up when you were in the booth on your own. I've painted for 25 years and have had a few moments like these. Not hundreds but certainly a few. Hat's off to you and your team. Also PPG, wow what an amazing colour. Bravo. Can't wait for the polishing episode. Thank you Howard and Co. Simply amazing
Thanks H. That was a killer episode. The previous one was fantastic. But This one I Loved the detailed information on everything to Do with the painting process. Also thanks John. Hey I laughed when Howard pointed out your run. Even the best get them. I don’t feel so bad now. Thanks again. Helps to make all of us more professional.
Howard, thanks for your reply to my comment from the previous video. The additional explanation of the process and detail makes all the work and the little details that come together so wonderfully well makes all your hard work that much more special to the end result. The colour and finish is amazing! Pity these never came from the factory like this, but you're one of a kind.
Goodness me, that looks absolutely amazing. One of the best paint colours I have seen in 30 years. Gotta be happy with that. Those guys are impeccable 👌
It's a thing of beauty, I can only imagine what it looks like in person, the colour kind of looks like a Cadbury chocolate wrapper in some parts of the video, at least on my TV it does. Great work everyone involved, an absolutely spectacular result. The owner is a very lucky guy!
Thanks for sharing all this information mate. This car is looking amazing the work of you and the guys just blows my mind Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.
Very interesting Howard that was awesome how you guys used the pressures/grades of paper etc and explained to us why mate.. Phenomenal workmanship mate looks fantastic very informational content mate thankyou 👍
WOW WOW WOW how cool does that colour look, can't wait to see the finished car at summernats .great job Howard and everyone involved in this fantastic build..
Hi Howard, That blue is outstanding! You and the guys at PPG have left me amazed at just how much work goes into creating perfection. Bravo to the PPG boys! And looking forward to the next installment. Ps. We know somebody has put a blue bumper near a gorgeous blue falcon. Car'n Giss a squiz mate! lol
Incredible work. Well done and thanks for sharing - very interesting to see the level of effort and hours that are invested into a paint job like this, it's truly mind-blowing and it looks spectacular.
Awesome work boys. Lots of great in depth information for those guys wanting to know the proper procedures to take to get a better finish at home. With painting it always pays to be OCD clean with everything so you end up with a high grade finish. Paint refinishing technology has come along way in the last 10 years in my opinion.
Looks bloody amazing! That's why you are the falcon king! Apart from A.Moffat haha. As a painter i appreciate the work in cars like this. Looking forward to the finished product! Take care!
Be nice if you did the engine bay in gloss Howard go well together with all that chrome work and modifications . The Falcon is looking awesome and your body work is a stand out well done ..
Amazing video, thanks so much for all the info, a real eye opener to see how coarse the grit goes down to with the clear sanding. What a work of art, you have gotta be happy with the results man!!! Legendary stuff!!! All the best for the rest, certainly on the home straight now!! Wicked!!!
Beautiful job by you and the team Howard. Definitely a good move doing all the satin finishes last, very hard to rectify if they get any overspray or damage once its been applied.
Perfect example of getting what you pay for..........stunning...... Doesn't look like it needs colour sanding........but will come up better no doubt....
Loving the build series Howard, question please- when you say “ color sanding” is next now that it’s back in your workshop, what are you using and then how will you bring back the gloss in the clear ? Thanks
I’m surprised it’s not in a fully enclosed trailer when you take it away. Would love to see it with my own eyes, but unless it’s coming to the U.K. my phone screen will have to do.
You are 1 proud car builder. Is there any way to get some good footage of the finish out of the gun ? Before you sand and buff it. comparison. I would be happy with the finish out of the gun. Can't wait to see the colour in the sunlight.
Awesome episode Howard. The car is looking sensational. I have to ask, after all the hard work yourself and Darren have put in to this car, how are you going to feel when you have to hand this beauty over to it's owner? I know I don't think I would be able to.
Howard how did he not get overlap on the doors? I noticed that's were he finished the first coat , I've seen the Yanks start from the start with the car striped hey thanks if you could give sum tips
I think it has a lot to do with the colour. This is a one layer. If you go for 2,3 or even 4 layer then it an issue. Even worse with candy over. When I did the Gold 4 door I went from one end to the other.
Why did you not sand the guide coat off the primer completely? I heard you are meant to sand it off until you there is no sign of guide coat? Or was it not shown in the video?
I have the flowcoat stage coming up on a job. Using this same clear. Would you recommend running slightly less pressure than that if its not getting buffed? We're not doing a showcar, just a presentable job.
In the video he states 2.6 bar on the flow with a 1.2 nozzle. I think it depends on your gun setup and how you like to paint. I like to over thin by 10% but I also paint fairly fast. Have a look at the spray gun selection video we did last month with Casey, it outlines a lot of info on how the gun operates at different pressures
@@AstillDesignawesome thankyou I'll check that out. I work in a production shop and I spray everything at 2bar. This'll be the biggest flow coat job I've done so I want it to go smoothly.
Hey Howard, a bit off topic but I've deskinned a bonnet I'm repairing and I'm wanting to know what you'd recommend for anti flutter foam for between the skin and frame any recommendations much appreciated cheers.
That's a good question, most of the time is in preparation of the surface before the actual paint process, then there is the polishing after. I cant really answer it here but will look at covering it in another episode
Agree with using the lighter sandpapers to rub the filler / highbuild back .. You just chase your tail using harsh stuff like 80 grit having to get all the scratches out , yeah you do use more paper doing it this way, but you make less work for yourself in the long run
I could feel the emotion in your voice whilst in the booth by yourself. You work is beautiful mate and that colour is breathtaking!
Yes it was a nice little moment to share
I love ppg products been using them for over 15 years
Yeah me too
Howard, your body work turned out exceptional now that the beautiful paint work shows all the perfection.

Why the distinct colour difference between door window frames and B pillar?
They were only given a light coat as they will be black. I didnt want too much product build and loose the factory edges and shape
what was the brand of spray booths used at this facility?
