after spending 7 weeks blindly stumbling through my animating with Toon Boom class, I find your tutorial that is easy to understand, helpful and well explained. Thank you so much for this series!!!!
Your videos are incredibly useful, they really help me learn and understand what I need to do. My English is far from perfect, but your explanations are so simple and clear that it motivates me not only to learn animation, but also to improve my English. Thank you so much, I could never have done it without you.
I'm learning Toonboom at Uni and your tutorials have been so so useful in helping me figure out things, truly thank you so much! You're incredible at what you do
I'll be honest, when i first got a chance to get toon boom, one of my greatest fears was the node editor. It looked terrifying to me, and I was never good at figuring them out in blender. but your video made organizing it so much fun and I was surprised with myself with how easily I remembered everything you talked about while I was making everything pretty. Thank you so much for this series, I can't imagine how many people this is helping turn daunting tasks into real, tangible ways to create their visions!
I'm not sure if you'll respond to this but at 5:44 when I tried moving my own mouth it didn't create a keyframe. Im on a newer version of toon boom so Im not sure if that might have something to do with it.
You might have to make sure 'animate using animation tools' is set to off. Mentioned here: ruclips.net/video/sLtikMDa9ZE/видео.htmlsi=kDbVRm3TubAqlzMj&t=791
@@DrawnSean You're welcome! Will this end up being a full 360 rig? and will we end up using Deformers for like mouths and what not? also, will we be setting a remote or handles for some of the movements? I see a lot of tutorials that do that but they don't explain this as well as you are.
@@allenatmosphere Will be doing front, quarters, side and back yeah :) Deformers will be the next vid and I will be throwing a load on this rig yeah :) We will be doing master controllers for the ta, head angles, expressions, blinks, pupil movement and mouth shapes. Appreciate it :)
@@DrawnSean Awesome man! Really looking forward to it! Already got a few of my characters all caught up to where you left off so I can get them all rigged up!
These tutorials are spectacular! I'm learning neat new shortcuts and tricks! And the way you breakdown tools and workflow is great! Really appreciate tutorials like this!
I wanna ask when you make new comp (Head Composite ) in node view and took Head and Mounth part outside main comp. Why it's still show on main screen ? With me they are disappear when it not connect with main comp
@@butterlinhIn render it probably wouldn't be visible. Not sure why mine is showing but it's nothing to worry about, just plug them in like in 03:15. Everything gets connected to the main comp and display eventually, which is what it needs to to do. So just make sure all ya comps are connected down the hierachy to the main comp if you can't see it in the camera view.
So i was thinking to make rigging and animation of only one view like only of the front view and not from all the angles. Can u plz assist till where should i see the rigging and then directly jump to the animation. (Once the front view rigging is done).
@@TRUELIVING Well as you're building the rig, it's likely that you will need to add more pegs to things, so it's always better to have all of those pegs in place before repositioning everything for the TA angles. The animation information is stored in the pegs, so things could pop out of place potentially but see how it goes.
These videos have been so helpful! Quick question for ya, only a minute into the video and im already getting stuck. when I duplicate the composite for head composite and start linking my nodes to it such as eyes lips ect in my camera view , once I connect them they just disappear off the character and I don’t see that happening for you. When I click the nodes in the new composite I can only see them individually in the camera view . Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated! 😊
Hmmm. First off you can press ctrl+h to make a comp (not relevant to the issue). Is the comp you're attaching the nodes to, connected to another comp that eventually leads to the display node?
@@DrawnSeanah very interesting! When I link it to the display node the head composite is visible again thank you!, can I link the display mode to multiple composites? Maybe there’s a tool to create new “strings” for the linking ☺️
@@conormorrin4650 No problem! Not sure what you mean. Like shown in the video, all of your separate comps HAVE to get connected to a main 'master comp'. This then gets connected to the display comp to tell TB what needs to be displayed/rendered. So all of your multiple nodes do need to get connected to the single display node.
I just stumbled upon your videos and it really helped me tremendously (cause my professor sucks at teaching 😭😭). Hoping to see you post more tutorials in the future DrawnSean . Also if you don't mind me asking, how do I group together the angles of my character? (Just like your character turn around) Cause still quite confused.
Thanks so much! Glad they are helpful. I'm not sure what you mean about grouping together the angles of your character? Did you watch the video about adding the ta angles in toon boom?
@@DrawnSean the character that is facing different directions, (front, side view 1/4 & side view) cause atm i only know rigging the parts but i dont know how you managed to put them together into one like the character turnaround you did. also i haven't watched that yet (i think), where can i find that?
At 9:47 is this what would be considered "daisy chaining" according to Zebirdbrain? I'm watching one of her videos now and at 0:58 in her video ruclips.net/video/o3vkJCG0q-g/видео.htmlfeature=shared she shows a rigging hierarchy that reminded of the one you're showing in your video. And now I'm a little bit confused😅 Edit: I watched Zebirds entire video and I THINK what you are doing at 9:47 is not "daisy chaining" but I need confirmation to see if I really understood what was said in both videos
Rob pokes his head out from behind the eye composite... hiding from sean who has made his way into the node view pencil in hand! "i need to get out of here" he whispers to himself, for the benefit of all the readers Sean starts moving nodes, organising the node view to find robs hiding place, as he scrolls over to the right side of the room, rob darts for the exit... but he trips on the foot node! "ROB are you okay?!" Sean remarks... "you need to be more careful, quick get a weapon! theres something here, and its out for blood" Rob confused "EHHHHH, im okay, i didnt see it, wait what do you mean, i thought you were out to get me" "don't be ridiculous!" sean responds with a whisper... Ney!

Yeah can only rig the front views if you want.
I think I messed up somewhere, when I move a part only the lines move and the colors stay can someone help
If you need to move the art, there's a button in the tool properties for moving all sub art layers with the selection tool.
When I plug into the new composite, the pieces disappear. Confused.
The new comp has to be plugged into the main comp/display.
Are you still able to complete the rest of the turn around even though the structure of the node view is completed?
I would only do the ta after the rig is completed
@@DrawnSean geeze thanks. will it get complicated if let's say I have done three positions. Get the rig done then do the rest ?

Nah. All of the nodes have their respective pegs and can be moved independently of eachother, so it's not daisy chaining, this is the correct method.
