    I had the original P365 and recently tested out the X Macro. I really like it for a number of reasons. First, the ability to add the red dot. I've been waiting for the X slide to be available, but since the Macro has other features I like, for instance, not losing the rear sight when installing the optic, I went ahead and took the plunge.
    Also, I do find the porting to be effective. Going from the original to the Macro, I do feel a perceptible difference in recoil. It may be a combination of the extended beavertail, the slightly different grip and the porting, but there is a noticeable difference.
    I do notice the slight wiggle in the grip. I changed to the small grip from the medium. I don't think it is enough for me to worry about. For what it's worth, the new one I have in the display case has the same slight wiggle.
    Overall, I'm impressed with the entire line. If I had the X or XL, I'm not sure I would upgrade. But I think that it's worth it to move from the 365 to the X-Macro. At least, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

      If you still have the p365 and want to upgrade it. Arsenal Democracy can cut it and mount your optic. I had it done a couple years ago along with some internal upgrades. It’s a totally different firearm now. Also the rear sights are still on there incase of optic failure. This shop can cut the ports or etc.

    My backstrap moves as well but honestly it's whatever. I ran cheap steel cased ammo 17+1 multiple times with zero issues and that's what matters. My XL definitely did not like to be loaded 12+1 and failed to feed repeatedly. They've finally achieved glock reliability with gucci feel

The comped version is 3.1 inches just like the standard 365, and the non-comped version has a 3.7 inch barrel. Really good video other than a few points, like not saying "about" when exact measurements are available as it appears unprofessional to do so. Loose bk strap isn't an issue. Don't send it bk, they're all a bit loose. Amazing how a little glue makes it all go away. Just use a little so you can still get it off. Incidentally, it isn't exactly a 17 rd mag , unless you want to have difficulty seating the mag on closed slide. It's just too tight. So you have 16 plus one -no big deal.

      @@bertecrabtree Sadly, no. Ive tried both. I believe theres a tighter fit around the barrel - possibly to control back pressure. When you attempt to insert either a 3.7 inch or the 4.25 inch threaded barrel into the opening at the muzzle and triy to slide it in, the barrel is stopped well before the breech-end of the barrel drops into place ahead of the firing pin/ejector/striker assembly. Not so wth the non-comped slide.

    I have an XL and love it. I did change out the grip module to the Wilson Combat. Much better ergonomic design and fits my hand better. As far as not having a compensator or a rear iron site with the optic installed isn’t a factor for me. I like the longer 3.7” barrel, and with my aging eyes I need a reflex sight. Focusing with iron sights is not optimal for me. I went with the Holosun 507K green dot that has a built in back up rear sight. I’m looking forward to Sig or Wilson Combat to come out with an XMacro grip module. That will be the perfect matchup for the XL.

  • @ronolson2024
    @ronolson2024 2 года назад +4

    When you think about why Sig did what they did you realize that they made it bigger to not fit the concealed carry market as well as the P365XL. A complaint of the 365 series is that the grip is small. I myself with small short fingers had to move the mag release over to the Lefty side as I could not hit the mag release at the angle which was needed to drop the mag. Also canting the pistol to hit the mag release the mag would hang up on the palm of your hand. Everyone who shoots these guns knows this. When I moved the release to the other side & operating with your finger instead of your thumb all of these mag release issues went away. I also ground off the Beaver Tail on my P365XL. If it's not needed on the P365 then you don't need it on the XL either. And after 1000 rounds or more still no slide bite. However the Beaver Tail may be needed on the X-Macro as the bore axis may be lower than the other 365's. Now enter the X-Macro with its' redesigned wider, longer grip AND mag release. When the X-Macro is in your hand the grip is longer feels small, & the mag release is easily operated with my short fingers. So what's wrong about this for concealed carry? THE GRIP LENGTH now is too long as it now prints so much more than the XL. If only they had made the grip length to fit an XL mag it would have been almost perfect. Another FLAW is that they changed to a standard rail, making the gun wider. 2 things wrong with this: 1) Won't fit P365 holsters, but this isn't a big deal as you can always buy another holster (I have many). 2) This is the big one. It's wider which is exactly what you don't want when carrying. 3) A down side to keeping the rear sight is that the optic now is placed closer to that cartridge view port accumulating more carbon of the window of the optic. SO: Why did Sig do all of these changes? They made it for Police Depts. & possibly the Military. They just hoped we wouldn't notice & buy the d*_m thing anyway. There's a sucker born every minute as they say. (Me included) But they won't catch me today.

    why does the rail stick out?

    • @kevincambron4859
      @kevincambron4859 2 года назад +1

      Short barrel, does not extend to end of slide. Barrel ends before the compensator ports on top of slide (or about even with the front sight), hence the compensation.

      Chamber flags make it look like the rail is extended

    I am a big Sig fan. They continue to be innovative with solid offerings. But...there has to be a but...no manual safety "option", I'll pass. Some P365 & P365 XL's have them...every one should have it available as a option. They can offer it as a "parts" purchase and self install. No brainer imo.

    • @Guns_and_Outdoors_Channel

      💯% Agree brother. If this one sells out like hotcakes one would imagine they’ll offer it as an offering down the line

    • @nickscud4178
      @nickscud4178 2 года назад

      it'll probably happen in time- remember, 365 w/ safety wasn't announced until 18+ months after initial release, and took 2 years before they really became prevalent

      I shot an XL rental, bought a Macro and shot it a couple days later. The XL recoil was extremely manageable and Macro felt like cheating. I def noticed the compensator. But both shoot great. I think I actually prefer the grip of the XL.
