I like the new way of showing the different sizes of the back straps since RUclips won't let you do it any another way. Only suggestion would be to have some type of grid on the table to see the size differences. It wasn't as noticeable when you changed from stock to thin as it was going from thin to thick back straps. Maybe a grid pattern background would show this off better?? Great Job excited for the range review.
I bought mine over a year ago. I put like 2,000 rounds through not one issue. Until one day i went shooting and all of a sudden i got a dead trigger issue. Thats right DEAD TRIGGER i didnt know what that was then. Pulled the trigger back to fire a round and nothing. No spring in the trigger. Ì took the gun apart and a small spring fell out of the hand gun. I called sig and they sent me a label. They returned the weapon in about a week. Which is not bad. Left a note saying they changed the trigger spring. Been about six months since i got the gun back and about 1,200 rounds through her without an incident. Love the gun and its my edc as well as on my night stand. Any thoughts?
I think you may have answered my question in passing. I have an XL, but the grip just doesn’t feel quite right so I’m wondering if, in the future when grip frames are available, will I be able to replace my XL frame and use this frame with the appropriate magazine?
Have you looked into the Wilson combat grip module for the XL? it's a little wider among other improvements. Cheap upgrade that makes the pistol a lot more comfortable.
Nice review. Just a couple of FYI’s: 1) The TLR-7/TLR-8 lights fit this great. They are almost flush with the muzzle. 2) With a TLR-8G on mine, it fit a couple of my Glock 19/23/45 holsters nicely.
i am glad sig is always innovating. they are definately going in the right direction with the 365. i would like them to come out with more guns like the p229 pro. i would like to see the velosity difference in a 3.1 vs 3.7 in 365.
We also experimented off camera with slapping the regular XL slide on this frame and comparing the two just for feel. Interesting results that we'll need to do on camera.
This is a great table top review; I’m excited to see the range footage (which personally being that I would immediately would be putting a dot on mine, would like to see you guys run the gun with a dot) from you guys. Nice channel!
Something to add that I found on my. The frame is slightly thicker in the area where the manual safety goes and it does interfere with the safety levers after you notch the frame for the the manual safety. That are of the frame will need to be reduced for a safety to work. And you can see the die insert from the mold in that area for a manual safety compatibility frame
I think it’s wunderbar that Sig is always trying new features, designs, etc. My old P365XL might start to feel inferior but I still love it. At least until my P365 380 takes over, and that might be soon. Finally got it to the range last week and got about 50 rounds through it and it’s exactly what the doctor ordered (i.e. NOT a Ruger). So smooth shooting! That XL frame may not be required and I didn’t even notice the safety so I may not have to pull it off and void the warranty. Might just leave the big floor plates on the 12 rnd mags I got and make them my in-pocket backups.
At 1st glance, I thought- "OH CRAP! Now I need to sell my P365XL and get one of these P365X Macros!" LOL! But, after watching your video I realized that my P365XL is still perfect for me and isn't going anywhere! I have regular length hands with fingers that are on the skinnier side of average (yes, I know, I should have been a Gynecologist 😃). That being said, the 365XL grip with a 12rd mag just barely fits all my fingers. Just barely but it does fit. I also have an athletic body, so a smaller handle is easier for me to conceal. I don't have a gut, love handles or back-fat to hide a hand-cannon under (yes, we all have our crosses to bare). I had a completely custom compensated fullsize 1911 single stack and I absolutely loved it. Hence my initial attraction to this new variant. Even though my fingers are thin, they are wirey & as strong as anyone's (I have been working construction for 28yrs). So the P365XL's recoil is very manageable for me. I practice & do drills, so a 12rd in the pistol & 2 15rd backup mags is absolutely enough for me to feel secure in that I have enough rounds for any personal defense situation that I may encounter. Don't get me wrong, more rounds is cool and if I only intend to own one pistol for every situation, then I would absolutely consider this (and of course, if I had thicker paws). Being that I have different pistols & firearms for different applications & situations, the P365XL is the right fit for my EDCC pistol. I plan to add a threaded barrel & massage the trigger on her and get a couple higher capacity mags to keep in the truck & nightstand. I think that Sig is definitely on the right track with the P365 & P320 line ups, with there modular compatibility and vast offerings to cater to every size shooter. I definitely see the need for every size they offer. I am a hammer over striker guy and with that Sig offered a DA/SA P365 hammer variant. I would buy one in a heartbeat! I am absolutely love my Sig P2022 9mm over the P320, because of its FCG. Not that everyone should feel this way, but that just happens to be my personal preference. While consensus says that the Sig P320 is allegedly a better pistol than the Ruger P95, I can get more rounds off with a little bit more accuracy than I can with a Sig 320 (again, that's me and I'm sure that many others will see this differently).
It's just like the automotive analogy we talked about last Saturday Live Chat. If you look in any given parking lot you're likely to see a wide variety of makes and models. Why? Because those cars were the right choice for the owner at the time they bought it. We all have different needs, tastes, budgets, etc. That doesn't make any single make or model the perfect choice for everyone.
I really want to own a sig, the grip and feel of their firearms are poetry. But I can't get over all the stories you find of their firearms discharging in holters or involuntary when dropped/knocked against something.

It will be interesting see if/when Sig Sauer will release a P365XL with a threaded barrel with a mini comp on the barrel. If they keep improving the P365, then that will be next.
Hey Graham, do you have a 15 round P365 mag to compare the 17 rounder to? I'm curious if the 17 rounder is actually longer or if they changed spring/follower geometry to get the additional two rounds.
From what I'm seeing about the Macro, it's not better than my 365XL enough for me to go buy it. If I need 17 rounds, I have a full size P320 in 3 calibers (15 for 40 and 357 Sig) I don't find muzzle flip to be a severe problem. I think this is Sig trying to maximize return on their engineering investment by making tweaks on a proven platform. I'm not saying its not good. I'm saying I'm still very happy with my 365XL.
I don't think this is supposed to replace someone's x or xl unless you have really big hands and want a full grip like a full size gun. I think it's more for people that are new to edc and shooting in general. Its a thin smallish gun with a full grip more rounds little recoil and you can put all the attachments on it. If anything this will be a good replacement for people that carry bigger guns for the full size grip, less recoil, and more rounds like a Glock 19.
Heck yeah, I would love to see the XL slide on the X Macro frame. Been thinking if they're gonna sell the frame on it own and see if it's compatible. Already have an XL so it'd be great to just by the frame instead of a whole pistol lol
One more of Sig's endless variants. At least it's less of a price gouging than the 365 Spector, which is drastically overpriced. This pistol actually looks appealing.

At $799.99 I’ll just wait until I can buy the grip module and mags and just put my XL barrel and slide on it. I just can’t justify paying that much for this pistol considering all the other pistols I could get for that kind of money. This is the pistol the XL should have been all along just not at that price.
I've always thought 2 finger grip frames were just a foolish design. Now years later, everyone has a fuller sized grip and acts like it's a revelation in firearms design. Curious to see how much the recessed barrel results in fowling the dust cover after several hundred rounds. If that isn't metal, I can't imagine it'll respond well to the heat
@@settleschris1965 That'll depend on the holster. We've experimented with this because our Icarus XL grip module has a full-length dust cover. Of three holsters one is a no go, one is a sorta, another (made for Icarus modules) fits fine.
If you're upset I didn't remove the chassis that's because RUclips doesn't allow showing that. We have examples on our website where we pay to have more freedom.
looks ridiculous idea if someone wants less muzzle flip can take a larger gun longer barrel not a short barrel one with compensator that reduces the velocity and ridiculously the same length of slide 🤒
@@luvwutsnew401 we have some videos and articles explaining. With the P365 and P320 the "firearm" is a chassis with the trigger, meaning you can swap the grip cheaply and easily. That's very kind!! We wish you the same! 🌞
Id like to see a velocity test. With .04 inch difference, I'm guessing maybe 40-50 fps.
I say test it with the red dot installed 🤔
I would rather the slide to match the barrel length. Either a longer barrel or shorter slide. That slide comp would do bugger all.
No trigger description?
Not highlighted this time because it's a P365 FCU, exact same trigger as any other P365 and we've covered that a few times.
At $799.99 I’ll just wait until I can buy the grip module and mags and just put my XL barrel and slide on it. I just can’t justify paying that much for this pistol considering all the other pistols I could get for that kind of money. This is the pistol the XL should have been all along just not at that price.
Your move Wilson Combat
It just seems like a gun to fit a very small niche. I would never need another 365 other than my XL.
I've always thought 2 finger grip frames were just a foolish design. Now years later, everyone has a fuller sized grip and acts like it's a revelation in firearms design.
Curious to see how much the recessed barrel results in fowling the dust cover after several hundred rounds. If that isn't metal, I can't imagine it'll respond well to the heat
the barrel is fully shrouded in metal but for the top cuts. no gas touches polymer.
No red dot please
The next thing Sig should do is make this in iridescent rainbow finish! Just kidding.
Either barrel length will be ouch at 7 yards
We have an article on GBGunsDepot.com testing the 3.1" 365 vs 3.7" 365XL vs 3.9" XCarry with four different defensive loads. Interesting results.
It doesn’t look like this Macro is readily available at local shops.
We've got a few sources for them listed in the article: www.gbgunsdepot.com/post/new-sig-p365-x-macro-comp
Smart move, now you sell more modules, mags and holsters.
Should fit XL holsters, same slide.
@@GBGuns will it fit with the extended dust cover?
@@settleschris1965 That'll depend on the holster. We've experimented with this because our Icarus XL grip module has a full-length dust cover. Of three holsters one is a no go, one is a sorta, another (made for Icarus modules) fits fine.
@@GBGuns thanks for the info, please keep up the fantastic reviews!
Can’t wait to see what’s for dinner!!
Yes, Lots of curiosity of how this short-barrel slide-comp combo will work. Does it eliminate the ammo sensitivity of a threaded comp?
Who is going to compare this to the Hellcat Pro? Anyone?? 🤷🏽♂️
I'll do it. This has a shorter barrel and longer grip. Done.
@@GBGuns lol pretty much!
One is American, one is Croatian
@@GBGuns great thorough review!
Thanks for taking it down all the way! SMH
If you're upset I didn't remove the chassis that's because RUclips doesn't allow showing that. We have examples on our website where we pay to have more freedom.
Make it without the comp & same barrel length of the xl then I’ll it one, comes on micro pistols are stupid.
Man sig need to work on quality control instead of making different ones. I don't trust them at all. Looks nice though
Seems like whoever designed the magazine and baseplate wanted to go home for the weekend. It sticks out something awful.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I think the question we all have is: What the hell phone do you have that doesn't read QR codes?!?!!?
Samsung Galaxy 21 Plus
@@GBGuns I'd talk to Samsung or whatever retailer you bought it from. Its supposed to read QR codes no problem.
You didn’t take out the mag release. Damn it. No body knows how to remove the mag release. Wtf
That's not part of a basic field strip. There are videos on RUclips showing how to do it.
👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🔫🔫☕️☕️💯💯🛎
not buying lol sig make the specter comp cheaper
looks ridiculous idea
if someone wants less muzzle flip can take a larger gun longer barrel not a short barrel one with compensator that reduces the velocity and ridiculously the same length of slide 🤒
We'll do a video testing vocity and showing muzzle flip side by side.
@@GBGuns good idea ... but if you use the same ammo , I guess I know the answer .
Taran Butler tested it and the Macro loses 70-75 FPS to the xl.
Yes but that's ammo dependent and the energy loss is projectile dependent.
$800+ gun and Sig is too cheap to include an owner's manual, that's some BS right there!
👍👍👍
Red dot 🔴 green dot 🟢 don't really care. Just put one on cuz it looks so frickin cool! 😎😘
Fantastic! Can you plz mention where is the manufacturing date/ born date mentioned on the box. And can it be traced with just the serial number.
the fcu is the same as the all the regular p365?
Yes
I'm kinda new to guns, what is fcu I keep seeing this?
@@luvwutsnew401 we have some videos and articles explaining. With the P365 and P320 the "firearm" is a chassis with the trigger, meaning you can swap the grip cheaply and easily. Unfortunately RUclips won't let us show it directly. See our article on the M17 X-Change, that should help. GBGUNSDEPOT.COM
