I've been using GrandMA in my church for the last 6 months, with no real knowledge of how to program. The other guys who use the lighting desk keep changing things, so this is incredibly helpful for me (next time I'm near the desk, I'm creating my own executor wing). Thanks so much
this is great! i am just starting programming with no experience. if you could make a whole series from programming to running live shows i would watch them all and it would be much appreciated!
Great video Christian!! Really helped me out I'm just starting digging into learning the MA console and how to patch fixtures the right way and how to program, so your videos are VERY helpful and much appreciated, any time you make one I will DEFINITELY be tuning in!!
Thanks very much for this! started using grandma at my new church about 7 months ago and been learning what I can here and there. This is very helpful for my next step in being able to create cue lists for songs at home and bring my show file to church ready to go. Will be looking through your channel for more vids on this platform. Peace.
Thanks, this stuff is really useful to newbies trying to wrap their head around the basics of MA. The system is really cool, and not that hard once you explain it, but it's non-intuitive. I was scratching my head a lot before I watched your tuts, then it became clear.
Thank you so much! Very easy to follow, and you helped me sooo much with effects, you have no idea. Supposed to do a show tomorrow, and i was not at all ready, but now i feel more competent
I should have started with this one. Thanks for making these videos I feel like I'm getting somewhere with this complex system. Thanks for taking the time to help us!
Thankyou for the video. Just started with MA and its a real help. Good pace and easy to follow. I had to search for the updated way to connect MA to MA3D but after that, it was all good.
Wow, Christian great tutorials, i literally come from nothing but video game developing and i just got bored with it so now im learning a new type of "Programming" thanks to this tutorial keep up the great work with the tutorials and the vlogs I can see this channel going places.
Dude you save lifes here!!! You are on the point and it's obvious that you are a master but it's more obvious that you have realy fun doing this... Keep rolling babyyyyyy :)
Hey Christian, I rly like this new format! Plz make more videos like this. I am doing lighting engineering for a long time as my hobby and I am using GrandMA2 for a while now but it helps very much to get Tips for the Software from professional (every Day) users. I still haven't learned every function and there are still things I don't know about. --> Thanks and plz keep doing this ;-) XtremeTech
Thanks so much for your video. I am a total idiot at this. I have no MA experience except pushing and pulling faders to a already programed setup at our church. Our Tech Director has left and a huge fire hose of information has been put on me along with new responsibilities. At least by watching this video I understand a little more to get started. Thanks! I will watch more!
After a broadcast EM and LD career of many years and often being confronted with console ops asking me to fiddle with the desk in some way or other, and frankly not having a clue. This has finally lifted the veil on MA's for me. It's just a shame I recently retired. Ho-hum.
Could you do a video on how you set up your console for a live show, for lets say a couple of DJ's that are gonna play all night were you might not want tons? Do you just save a lot of effects on the executor buttons, and use positions/color/gobo etc. straight out of the programmer on the fly without storing anything?
Thank you for the amazing videos. I followed along to the video and the lights turn on on MA 3D but no beams of light are visible. I changed the class to conventional, which I read about, but still no beams. Any suggestions here? If it helps, I am running version 3.5.0.6 for both MA2 and MA 3D currently and would like to continue with this version for a little while until I get the hang of everything.
Hi Christian , I am starting to learn lighting programming . I am working at the moment with Avolites . But your tutorials are great . Realy like your programming on tchami 2015 . And i am trying to figure out de way you programming this way . Thnxs man keep them coming !! Ps sorry for my bad englisch . I am from Holland .
Definitely a great video! Super easy to follow along with. I personally could use a bit more info on the options you adjusted to create the effect. I tend to get lost when I start getting creative and adjusting things "Willy Nilly". I would love to see you start a series of these vids tho!
Great video... I am in my beging stages of doing higher end work... Learning all kinds of stuff from you... Biggest thing is getting all the software installed. At some point could you go through them all. The ones i or we watching you should be using???
Really Great Video but i have a question, what do i do when the fixturetype i own (mh-x60) isnt showing in the list of fixtures, i used FreeStyler previously and made a .fxt file for this fixture. is there any way i can use this custom fixture file in ma2 and if not how do i get to controll the fixture if its not in the default list of fixtures
Hi Christian, Thank you for the tutor. I've tried to connect MA2 ONPC with Realizzer (no console/hardware) but failed. Would you please make a tutor of these 2 software ?
Hoping for help. .. been learning alot and this is great, but i hit a wall..Everytime i go in stageview and hit follow mode the fixtures respond but only point up toward the roof...I just started adding things in ma3d like environments and whatnot...DO they mess things up ? Any input would be great, thanks yall
Just wondering! If i were to have the MA 2 console could i have like a show/stage and look at all the differrent thing like gobo etc?? so are you able to onnect this to a MA 2 console??
Hello Christian, I am new to the MA2. Where I work, we have a showroom with fixtures already flying and we have a MA2 at FOH. What should I learn first before anything??? Literally...
And many years later, if I could also say thank you for your excellent and informative and interesting videos, including this one!
This video is amazing, I wish you would make a complete beginners series! Your way of telling stuff is so pleasant and clear!
Just decided to get into lighting design, this made my first time opening the program far less daunting, thanks so much

How’s it going for ya? @DJ_Legenddrop
Me too.
