One of the best Tutorials I've seen. Just getting everyone set up to actually do some usefull stuff and move on from there. When I was following along, I had issues building sequences out of existing my existing presets. I imagine this is related to the fact that sequences are stored in the preset window? Is there a setting or key combination I overlooked that would allow me to build sequences out of my existing color/position/gobo presets?

MY MAN! thank you so much for this, had many years experience on other software but never had anything MA. I have a Command wing coming soon and wanted to learn MA3 on pc, Only wish I had known that the new Mac M1 CPU won't work with MA3 on PC hopefully they get it released soon than later.

is there a way to make a sequence stored on an executor button (not slide) turn off on the last click without using the off button? I turned off the wrap around, but the sequence just stays on the last cue.
you can also long click to save in a pool. and you can also use thru commands in 3d
My church is upgrading from MA2 to MA3. Everything is still super confusing (esp phaser controls) and I have 1 month to learn everything. This video is my training
Hey, love the tutorial so far, I am coming from ma 2 and mainly looking for the new stuff. That being said, 14 min in and I see your "store" Methods of typing or going to command overlay. You should be able to make a macro for "Store" then you could add that to your "My screen" in future tutorials, The keyword here is Should since I haven't tried that on 3 yet.... Hope that helps.
How can you see a fixture number when you're in 3D? I know you can type it in, but if you're thumbing through...is there a quicker way? Thanks!

hello, I have a problem, I have made the dimmer presets and colour presets but when I click them nothing happens, I have the fixtures selected, and have followed the video though multiple times, i have no idea what the problem is
I just installed Grand MA onPC v1.5.2.3, and all it does is crash and reboot itself, over and over again. MA support does not seem to be responsive. I cannot get your opening screen to come up. Can you maybe provide some tips for how to install and get the program to run? It would be wonderful if I could start this crash course at the same place you did.
Maybe calling it a "crash course" is a little too true to life for me, but I am finding it all a little too frustrating.

Being a newbie I'm trying to follow your steps. But what are you doing at 15:35 "go all the way back and do an open"? I can't follow you:)
I accidentally found you can store by holding down on the square u wanna put it in and dragging to the side (an option for store appears).
Dunno if you dont know about this or chose not to use it.
Anyhow im just getting into MA and this is helping a tone. I just wanna make virtual displays and the goal is to at some point buy some cheap lights and have a home party room
I'm trying to store but on the right side I only have 4 buttons with no blank ones..

Hi have a real problem and can not find a solution.
for example, as soon as I open the demo show in GrandMa3, beams, gobo and spot are displayed correctly. As soon as I click once again on the 3d window, all beams and spots disappear and the lamp only lights up (like a LED fixture) without producing any beams. I can't undo this either. In the render option all beams etc. are activated with over 100%. Can someone possibly help me?

This is great, thank you. I really wish you'd slow down a a bit though, there's a lot of you ending sentences so quickly you can barely understand what you said, then you click through things really quickly, it gives the feeling that you are impatient which is kinda distracting, and requires a bit of rewinding. Hope that's constructive criticism. Thanks again!
Hey there! Newbie here and I really appreciate you making this video. I cant seem to get my lights to show any beams in 3d. I turn the dimmer to 100 and nothing happens. Is there something I can do to fix this? Im following the tutorial step by step and my lights dont illuminate when yours do. Thanks!

Hey! How do you get your ui bigger? for e.g, you have 11 rows, i only have 10.
It can depend on the size of your computer screen, if you're using onPC
if you look closely, you may see something in the dark

so i created a red to blue phaser.. and now when i snap to a static color.. its still phasing? is there a step im missiing? i'm stuck here
Yep! You'll need to make a stomp preset to stop the phaser or it will just change one of the steps in your phaser to whichever color you pick next.

how can i put the dimmer on a fader??
Get the values you want in the programmer, "Store" to an executor, and you're good to go! J
great video!!! im new with this, im following all your steps, at 8:26 on this video My 3d stage is blak there is no room, how can i see it???, also to store my screen 7:06 i need to change my display hide my encoder bar and my command line so i can see an empty boox on the right, how did you get your empty buttons to show on the right

Basicaly the 3d stage window is only black i dont see the stage, i do see the 3d cursor when placing lights, but no stage and dont see the lights either, only a black background on the 3d window.

18:36 you have actualy and easier way of doing this. which u could related to as if a fixture was placed the wrong way on stage. you could have gone into the patch and inverted it that way , which wiould be equal to a live scenario

Just found out about this new version. Installed it and I'm getting a very stupid warning that prevents me from launching the software. I'm absolutely certain the warning is for drooling computer illiterates, not for me, so how do I bypass it?
@@JonathanDMartinLD No, I'm using Windows and getting a popup that says my computer doesn't have enough cores, and the program exits.
@@JonathanDMartinLD I don't own a console, I use a touchscreen setup... but I don't see how a distributor is going to help solve an arbitrary limitation the software developers deliberately put in to cut down on their support calls.

MA needed a major update bad, so I'm glad to see MA3. Although all the boomer LDs are already bitching and moaning about how different things are. They just need to retire if they can't learn new software.
