Thanks a ton! Had been doing a lot of research and people were saying it was the camshaft position sensor, timing belt, ECM and all kinds of things. Luckily I found your video with the same codes. Got the pair for $78 (I replaced both as well) and everything is working great!
You sir are a hero. Fixed my moms Malibu with p0010. I paid 70$ at autozone for the intake one but she needed her car fixed that day. Her car was stalling and vibrating and acting weird intermittently. It seems the cold affected it more, there was a little sludge on the screen of the solenoid. She was having her car serviced by Firestone and I suspect she was paying for oil changes they didn’t do.
@@jpulley do you think I should order my mom the exhaust one? It seems to be all working now with just the intake replaced but it was so easy to change I’m debating doing it for her. My question is if I keep her oil changes up with good synthetic oil is it necessary to change you think? I also changed her alternator that was a lot harder but her battery was always dead. I wish the alternator was on the top of the engine but it’s in the back. That was so much worse than this vvt thing, took me like 5 mins to change after this video. You better hope yours doesn’t die :)
Hey man I have a question that's the same issue that I am having your talking about the sensor thats on top of the big hose that mixes the air and the gas?
Always check and make sure your manifold bolts that go into the engine block are tight as well. If they are loose and it sucks air. It will throw codes that are not even faulty. It can save you lots of money and time.
I changed both of mine when I got the codes and it didn't fix nothing. The codes was still there. Once I tightened down the manifold bolts. All the codes was gone and my car ran like new.
God bless you my brother for helping the people sir... I have a 2020 Lt model that the remote start just stopped one cold morning after getting home from North Carolina the next day. was any of them codes for map or mass air flow system do you happen to know? My wife actin like its the end of the world one of these codes I believe is on the dash well setting the chk engine light off my question is if theres any problems will that stop that remote start? Mine is throwing up the code for the airflow or maybe the map sensor but still runs great. I don't understand it. brother I've reset the computer light went out but came back on after about 3-4 hours of driving still no remote start though Its the sensor on the top of the hose leading to the butterfly wing. Chevrolet has turned to junk in my opinion...a plastic butterfly wing??? What cheapskates! Lol cost in an arm and a leg for a popcan of a car lol. Didn't notice it until we got in from FT. Bragg the next day about 4am in the morning. I would definitely love to hear your input sir.👍🇺🇲💯✌️🌎if what you tell me works all cash app ya some flow.👍✌️🇺🇲
With it being a 2020 is it still under any warranty? If the car is throwing any codes it will disable to the remote start. I have a video about that here: ruclips.net/video/K6x96ZXAA0A/видео.htmlsi=jvqc5OcxWyJn2S5G I would get a can of mass air sensor cleaner to and clean the mass air flow sensor. I would also clean or replace the air intake filter. At any rate rather its the mass air sensor or something else, the fact that the trouble codes come back after 3-4 hrs tells me it wasn't a faulty code. Whatever is going on will need to be addressed. I don't know if this is a common problem on the 2020, but some people were saying that the intake manifold bolts can be come loose and suck air this will cause the engine to throw codes. Replacing solenoids as I did in this video would not help you would need to re-torque those bolts. I don't know if any of this will help but, good luck.
Just FYI these are not called “inlet and outlet solenoid”. The correct term is “oil control valve solenoid” you have one for exhaust and one for intake.

Anytime you take it that far apart you might as well pull that whole air intake assembly and check the torque of your intake manifold bolts. GM has a service bulletin on those coming loose by themselves. After seeing how common it was I checked mine and sure enough they were loose.

The side where you see the air intake and throttle body is the air intake. The exhaust will have the metal exhaust header. Usually covered with a heat shield that you see on the front of my engine.
I have this same problem..but what do I do if I have 3 batteries.. i have the main one in the front and two behind the seat for a sound system..do I only have to disconnect the front battery..or do I have to disconnect all three
I didn't have to calibrate anything, They have been installed over a year now. I've had no problems. Many people in the comment section report fixing theirs by swapping a new part no calibration.
The rear one was really tough for me but there is some kind of locking tab that needs to be slid back then you can wiggle the connector off. It is a pain in the butt though.
I just replaced these myself and I'm still having poor engine performance. The codes are still there as well. I've changed the sensor too and still nothing.
I would clear the codes with a code scanner then disconnect the batter for a few minutes. Then reconnect, hopefully this will get the ecu to reset and should run normally. If that don't work you will need to get someone with more expertise involved.
