Thanks bro. With your video I just saved my niece $200 by me doing the work for her for free. I just liked & subscribed
Just got through doing this. Car is running perfectly now. Rpm’s are now steady. The throttle body was disgusting. Costed about 5 bucks to do all this and about 15 mins. Thank you so much. (-:
Because of this video I had the courage to clean it this way today !!! Thank you
hey guys I own a 2017 Malibu LT and I had my engine light come up (code P1101) followed this video + the video called "P1101 Chevy Malibu 2016-2020 mass air flow cleaning (MAF) how to" then cleared the code and it completely fixed it! light hasn't come back on! THANKS SO MUCH @Dullah Goso hard
Did it come back on yet
@@528Chris nope still no light! hopefully forever gone!
I have the same Malibu 2017 I was told that as well thank you for video I will try it my self autozone say it was the p1101 I got ms Malibu ln oct 2016 and I being trying to take care of her thank you again
👍Thanks for keeping it simple. Hope this is what is going on with my 2012 Malibu. I held out too long to have oil-changing and the filter was super dirty. Now it cranks up rough. I am a bit intimidated about going under the hood; can't afford a mechanic right now.
Thank you! I took it off easily and cleaned with proper products and my light is off💪🏾
Followed the instructions to the T and light cleared instantly and car is running butter smooth.
You are amazing for sharing your knowledge. Thank you!
New subscriber here as well, ive fixed couple of issues with my 17 thanks to your videos, keep it up man. 💯🤜🤛
definitely just cleaned mines and so far so good
Thanks I appreciate the help!!
Wow bro you rock I don’t have any issues lol it’s my 2020 malibu but since this so easy to do why not do it to keep my car running smooth I like to do my own maintenance on it sparkplugs oil change etc not to save money but cause I like to get to know my car in and out I also own a bmw omg them are difficult to do maintenance on it lol but you invest but your own German tools require for it it to I’ll definitely save you hundreds on a German car lol but love my lil malibu for work so thank you 👍🏼🤘🏼
Is the sound normal and did the sound change after you cleaned it? My 2020 chevy malibu makes that noise too. No check engine light or anything.
Do u have to remove the negative post on the battery before cleaning the throttle body
Great information. Good job.
You just help me fix my malibu with the same issue plus the brake vacuum 🤝🏾🦍
I’m going to try it thank you
Can you make a new video on 2014 Chevy Malibu LT showing exactly which screws to remove (POV) please? My throttle body needs cleaning bc my Malibu is starting to kick/hesitate..
Will this make ur O2 sensors fail…? Or get black soot?
Im from iraq
Thank you so much 💝
Could you replace a transmission control module on a Malibu
just fixed my car for a couple bucks thanks to you
I did and the pump pops off can you help on an advise to fix
Do I need to unplug the battery first? Or is this okay to do without doing that?
I put New throttle body on 2016 but it still idles in park. Could it be the turbo ? Also how do you check the transmission fluid on 2016 Chevy Malibu? Thanks for your help.
Thank you brother
I appreciate this info
Thanks 🙏🏾 broo my car 🚘 have 43 miles and have 2 year and half
Big up unno self! I like how you took off the entire throttle body for a thorough cleaning vs just the out side. Thinking of trying this on my 2003 Malibu if it looks dirty. Give thanks.
Do you have to do the throttle body relearn on these ?
Great content! My car is throwing a traction control code, because of the throttle body. I'm trying this before buying a new body.
How did it go?
@@allforone9531 The engine light is off and haven't thrown a traction control code since the night I cleaned it. It feels like I gained some hp too. It was weird though. First two days the car was acting crazy. Idoled at 3k rpms if I just tapped the gas. Idole speed was like 30 mph and kept going up. Then the third day it went back to normal on it's own and been great ever since!
Good job bro
Do you have to reprogram the throttle body with a scanner, after you clean?
You are awesome!😁
My 2016 malibu is slowing down then engine shuts off. Will this helps my issue? The shop that I went to is asking me $500 to fix it which I can't afford.
Thank you very very much….
Thank you bro 🙏🏻
What will happen if you try to clean it without taking the throttle body off?
How can I clean it with it on?
So you dont have to take it off the car to clean it?
good video bro
Will you get the same error code if it’s dirty/faulty? Should I attempt to clean first before replacing?
Yes clean it then clear the code
You can turn the car on without the engine running if you hold the start button for 5 or 6 seconds and it's in the run position without engine running. Then you can clear the codes.and the ECM kicks on.
Thanks i didn't know that

The Firestone mechanic told me that it was a bad MAS sensor on my 2017 Chevy Malibu (1.5L turbo 4cyl). The RPMs fluctuates up and down. I’ve replaced the MAS sensor but it still revs up and down. What year is this Malibu? Powertrain?
Do you need to unplug the battery if you’re removing the entire throttle body?
Yes, was failed to mention here. And if you change the butterfly position while cleaning you'll have to have the bcm body control module calibrated.
Respect
Thank you bro ☆☆☆☆☆
My malibu 2019 doesn’t start after auto stopping some times. Any advice why it does so. I have to put it in the park in the middle of road and start it again , doesn’t autostart
Drive in manual mode set to the top speed, until fixed
This is the best video so far I have come across. Just few questions. Since your camera was not pointing at the throttle body when putting it back, is there a gasket? If yes, then does it need a new gasket? After putting it back and connecting wire, does throttle body needs any kind of relearning? Appreciate your thoughts here.
There is a gasket there and no no relearn needed
@@DULLAHGOSOHARD Thanks. will put new gasket before putting it back.
Do you have any videos that have P0299? These videos are freaking awesome. Makes me feel good that i can do certain things on my own. Can you do one with the struts and also the P0299 code? Thanks keep up the great work!!
I just paid to have this done at the dealership wish I had known this they didn’t even clean it right still was dirty 😩🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️😡
Don't move the butterfly valve while cleaning or you'll have to do a idle relearn with a computer.
That’s not true. I didn’t have to do no relearn
New subscriber here 👍🏽
Welcome aboard!
Thank you ima having this trouble with my car right now !!!! Omg
Did you try it out?
Which cleaner did you use? Thanks for the video!!!
Any parts cleaner should do
Thank you for this video this exactly what was going on with the car
I don’t know how to clear the code
Dayum that steering wheel turns fast on that Malibu mine dosent turn that fast
Just want to say. Car would go into limp/safe mode, power reduced. Sunroof drain lines disconnected in pillars and filled rocker panel with water. Which has a wire harness going to rear of car. Mechanic couldn’t figure out what was wrong and couldn’t recreate what was causing the limp mode.. once the car dried out and I reconnected drain lines. No more limp mode.. mechanic and I were in shock. Hopefully this helps someone because we were losing our minds trying to figure out what was causing limp mode/reduced power.
Is this the same approach for a 2015?
It's a little different
Hot🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Cleaned mine still has code P1101 (1/1) permanent
Intake airflow system performance
It's not always the throttle body or the mass air flow sensor after looking at multiple forums and videos that came to the conclusion that it could also be the PCV valves. I have a 2017 Chevy Cruze with the same code I replaced the mass air flow sensor and the throttle body and I even replaced my pedal position sensor I don't have any leaks in my intake so the only conclusion is that my PCV system is bad
Did you resolve the issue? I was told to change or check all those parts but I'm hesitant. Mine does it upon initial start and it's OK after that.
I hope this works I’m trying this in the morning cause mines is doing exactly that I bought a new accelerator pedal sensor
I just bought the same thing, but I don't think it's the pedal.
Did you try the method in this video?
this video IS NOT for chevy malibu premiere model. the engine build is not the same as a regular chevy malibu.
Cleaned throttle body, code cleared itself, still stalls when cold starting.
Someone said check the pcv valve.
@@gushardy4421 that’s what the issue was.
@@Brainbuster865 wow, you're gotta be kidding. Is there a video on how to change it?
@@gushardy4421 I looked it up, it’s a recurring issue about every 100k. I didn’t feel like messing with it anymore so I just traded it in, we weren’t upside down and got payoff so we just figured “what the hell” lol
I’ll never own another with that motor
I just replaced the throttle body with a new one and it's doing the same thing, when I put it in drive and press the gas pedal, nothing happens it doesn't move the engine doesn't even rev. What is the problem???
Because you buy a new one you need to learn/ calibrate the new throttle body
@DULLAHGOSOHARD how do you calibrate it?
This doesn’t apply to a 2018 Chevy Malibu premier . The inside is different than this vehicle you’re working on.
Man I hope this works for my 2011 malibu
I just replaced my throttle body and my 2011 doing the same thing
@@youngmar4221 does it still do it
@@nathann8345 no not yet lol
@@youngmar4221 so the throttle body fixed it mines doing it now
@@nathann8345 ok ill be honest bro....car was doing fine at 1st but now it seem like it has similar symptoms but not exactly aggressive symptoms like it was be4 I got the throttle body fixed.....im supposed to get a full diagnostic on ny car tomorrow.....mechanic said it's probably a issue not related to the throttle body anymore and I might need a new computer!! My malibu is 14 years old and have over 212,000 miles on it....so I don't doubt these are new issues not related to the throttle body!! But after I get my full diagnostic test done 2morrow I'll be sure to come back here and update u on what the Mechanic say
Tried with out the spray. It went off then came back on😤
Check for vacuum leak
Is reprogramming necessary?
No
@@DULLAHGOSOHARD when you change the butterfly position in body plus not removing the battery cables , you should get the bcm calibrated per oem. It's adjusted over time due to getting dirtier. There for it will not adjust to factory specs after butterfly moved. Must be calibrated.
Best way to prevent this is to get a Oil Catch Can.
They have an oil catch can.
@@edbard3766 the Malibu doesn’t come stock with one I rented one and can confirm it. Even my 18” Cruze Premier doesn’t come with one 😂
You’re not suppose to open the butterfly like that 🤦🏽♂️
