I just finished Elden Ring and I am in awe. The world is huge and so beautiful. Elden Ring accompanied me the last 6 weeks and I can’t comprehend that it is over now.
I’ve done about 117 hours so far and I’m on my first play through. In the snowy mountains currently and loving it :) it’s phenomenal. Every area that I think I’ve thoroughly gone through leads me to new places.
I spent two weeks on the Lands Between and my next fight will be Radagon, but i will for sure start my second journey, because you just cant get enough of the beauty of these lands
When I opened the door to Limgrave, I thought, "damn this is one of the most beautiful locations I've seen in a videogame." Then I got to Liurnia. Then Siofra River. Then Altus Plateau. Then Leyndell. Then Mountaintop of the Giants. Then Miquella's Haligtree. Then freaking Crumbling Farum Azula. FromSoft games have always had good art direction, but Elden Ring is just... on a different plane of existence.
I felt like I was in romanticist and surrealist paintings the whole time/ The great thing is, even in more mundane regions, a random corner can look breathtakingly beautiful at the right time of day with the right combo of light from the Erdtree and the Sun. Except Caelid. Caelid can kiss my arse and F off.
I've always seen the fight with radahn extremely depressing. You are literally beating up an old man that's not even using 100% of his strength against you, can't even walk and has scarlet rot eating him away. I actually teared up during the fight because of his past. Bro was an absolute Chad and shouldn't have died the way he did.

The best game I’ve ever played In my life. Was never even a souls fan either. I won’t be able to enjoy another open world because this is truly a world. I have to set aside at least 3 hours everytime I play it because of the amount of time that it takes to actually accomplish something and the exploration. True sense of accomplishment once u get a weapon or defeat a boss.

DS3 is my favorite btw elden ring is a close 2nd imo. you might like elden ring more but you should def give the others a try (warning though ds1 feels slightly slower and the looks arent as good and ds2 feels even worse and looks about the same as ds1, good games but the movement/fighting doesn't get elden ring like until ds3)
I recccomend either playing bloodborne or ds1 next, but i feel like bloodborne is the better option here since it has a combat style more similar to elden ring
I believe even if the texturing were all muddy the visuals and the visual storytelling is beautiful enough to make the game gorgeous. This is what great graphics look like not how far can we up up the resolution on that one carpet texture. The only time we can say it has great graphics in my opinion is if the game looks gorgeous even on the lowest of settings. Then it really truly has the right to call itself a masterpiece.

Why aren't western devs making these kind of crazy architectures in their games? Every WRPG I played has these bland castles and generic atmospheres. Japanese people are on another level when it comes to imagination.
The art direction is amazing. The graphics are decent for a last gen game, but Fromsoft's graphics have never been great. Loved some of the vistas and sights in Dark Souls even if those games were kind of ugly from a graphics quality perspective.

You'll be wandering around the world, and suddenly you look over to the horizon and all these gorgeous aspects of the scenery line up, and you feel like you're traveling through a painting. When I had killed all bosses in the game and still didn't want it to end, I went to one of the many beaches I got to visit at the start, after facing gods and horrors alike, and then I just... Sat there with my feet catching the waves, waiting for the sun to set and looking at the sky. If you ever come across the chance to play it, do it.

I tried the dark souls games but didnt care for them. I've been thinking of trying seikoro die twice bc it's on sale for half off but an hesitatant die to difficulty. I will maybe give elden ring a try when it's at least half off.
@@peterc504 you can make this as difficult as you want it to be, if you go sword and board or ranged caster it's certainly doable. Because of the flexibility this game is perfect for people just starting out on souls games. In terms of questmarkers and such, there really aren't any. if you really want something you can always look at the wiki, it helps a ton. :)

Play it on a oled lg c2. I played elden ring on 11! Tv´s and only 2 where amazing..the oled c2.. and the philips the one. Also made with lg Tech. So the tv is very important.
CDPR are masters when in comes to art direction and aesthetic. No denying that. But in the fantasy genre, I think Elden Ring comes out on top. I honestly think it's better than The Witcher 3 and I considered that game to be the pinnacle of art direction in the fantasy genre.

It honestly surprises me how many people say this game looks good. 10/10 on mood 0/10 on lightning, occlusion, and color depth. And don't even get me started on the plant textures. I'll take god of war or horizon any day I mean demon's souls looks wayyyyy better. I understand elden ring is on a bunch of consoles but it looks so last gen it hurts
Demon souls is a run down version of the OG game.

Play it on a oled lg c2. I played elden ring on 11! Tv´s and only 2 where amazing..the oled c2.. and the philips the one. Also made with lg Tech.
So the tv is very important.

Cyberpunk has much better colors
CDPR are masters when in comes to art direction and aesthetic. No denying that. But in the fantasy genre, I think Elden Ring comes out on top. I honestly think it's better than The Witcher 3 and I considered that game to be the pinnacle of art direction in the fantasy genre.
It was beautiful and very realistic until they changed it with the update. Now it looks like paint by numbers. It literally looks like the black and white movies they added color too. It’s terrible!
