Show this video to anyone who says video games can't be art. I didn't know a 3d game can look this much like a painting before Elden Ring. The compositions, the scale, the colors... (great video, fantastic shots) And it's not even style over substance, it's a beautiful work of art that's also damn good entertainment. It's crazy to me how big this game is and how conistently great it is at the same time. I feel like a ton of people get too caught up in it's super insignificant tiny problems, like balancing, difficulty, some reused stuff, when I can barely fathom how a game of this quality and size can even exist.
Another gem of a channel randomly brought to my recommendations by The Greater Will itself. The most impressive shots I've seen of this game so far. Astonishing video man 🔥
Absolutely beautiful!! I think a few little things are missing before reaching perfection: More shots of interiors like Roundtable hold, shots of the jagged peak's ascent (tarnished riding on the bridges with the red and stormy backdrop). A shot of fire giant's second phase and other boss cutscene shots (Messmer), Messmer's snake form, Radahn's meteor attack, Fortissax's aerial glave attack and his double lightning stakes, bits of Bayle's signature attacks and Scadutree Avatar's needle explosion. Maybe the extra scenes can be included by using an Extended version of Messmer's theme, or maybe you could sacrifice other shots like Godrick 1st phase, Ekzykes and the pumpkin head.
The lands between (shadow realm included) is one of the only fantasy worlds that came as close in being so fun and interesting for me as middle earth was. It’s the perfect amount of high fantasy and at the same time feeling like it could be, a real place with the awesome unique world building and mythology.
