I actually really like the chest teleports. You never know where you're going to end up and a lot of them show off really cool areas I need to go in the future which acts as a nice incentive to keep going and exploring.
The actual No 1 is a double annoyance: Resurrecting Torrent Step 1: Get a message informing you that you are about to use a flask to resurrect Torrent (which will lock everything but basic movement until accepted/declined) Step 2: It's defaulted to NO (making you swap to the D-Pad, so not even able to move anymore, to change it to YES)
I'm convinced this dialog option is a developer troll. There's NO situation in which Torrent has died that there's time to go through confirmation dialogs, especially for a resource that's just going to regenerate when you die. Like, yeah, that dragon just mashed Torrent into a fine paste, did a ton of damage to me and is preparing to cover the entire area with fire , but let's carefully consider whether I can afford to use one of my remaining flasks on the only thing that can get me to safety.
@@v_1d10_t You mean a downside like spending on of your own flasks? And you do understand that Torrent can be one shoted by several attacks, making torrent heals irrelevant in that scenario? I use an Xbox controller and no, just because I can tilt the stick while using the d pad, doesn't equate to deliberate moving. If you wanna find excuses, go for it but that doesn't change the fact how some controlls are badly optimised. All they had to do was default it to yes
@@v_1d10_t That's what you are doing, I refuted both your claims as nonsensical and irrelevant. And instead of giving me a counter argument, you accuse me of what you are doing... You complain about my statement and how dare I to not agree with you. You have the chance to proof me wrong, do it. If torrent is killed by a one shot you are thrown off it, are vulnerable and in order to resummon it, have to spend one of your flasks to resurrect it. So you are stunned for a few seconds and use two flasks to heal yourself and resurrect torrent... what more punishment do you need? How is the structure of the message justifiable and an enhancement of the gaming experience? Go ahead, it's your moment to show me how my assessment is wrong and you are right and that you are not just making excuses to avoid criticism towards a game you seemingly don't wanna see criticized .
I had my wife play who has never played any souls games and she kept getting mad cuz she thought all the messages on the ground were from the devs so she just kept jumping off cliffs and everything. It was actually pretty funny watching it and not helping her
I'm new to this franchise. I've never played a game that does so much to piss you off and make you accept you aren't built for this and wasted 60 bucks. AND I LOVE IT. Such a unique experience.
@JK I don't find this game as challenging so much as time consuming. Once you get a feel for the game and the build you're playing it's actually quite easy. First souls game too
I watched my buddy fight Margit. And Margit really likes to hold his attacks and wait till you panic dodge your all your stamina away. Margit walked towards my buddy with his arm up in the air charging an attack. So naturally as anyone would, my buddy panic dodged all his stamina away. And the mad-lad Margit is, decided not to even attack my buddy lol. He just put his arm down and jumped backwards. I swear sometimes the bosses know when you're not ready to actually fight them and they toy with you
Ikr the AI in this game is insane it really feels like you’re fighting a living breathing enemy not just an npc it feels like there’s someone with a controller on the other side, the sad thing is margits easy compared to what’s to come lol
the AI is smart and learns you i was kiting tree sentinel around a pole and easily diispatching him before he caught on to my rotation an i had to switch it
One mechanic with the poison swamps that I'm pretty certain is new and was not present in previous games is that if you roll in them, they will stick to your character's upper body and continue to build up the poison meter even after you reach a safe spot.
My first experience with the game: I immediately turned around after getting into Limgrave at base level which was 9. Immediately stumbled on that treasure chest and ended up in that cave. I fought my way out but was still in the middle of Caelid, and I don’t think I had any sites of grace open in Limgrave. So I had to traverse Caelid at level 9 with NO map or knowledge of the game and had the worst time of it. But it made me stronger as a player and gave me this EPIC tier story to tell about it.
It wasn't the first thing that happened to me but basically this. That chest is in such a dickish spot. But I was extra dumb about it. I didn't get caught by the trap first time around. I figured they were like the traps in DS2 where you trigger the trap, roll away, and then collect the goodie inside. Well, I opened it, dodged the trap, and then returned to the chest expecting a reward. The chest was closed again. Odd... but the trap was disarmed so it should be safe to open agai- Poof! off to Caelid
My biggest problem with this game is that you're tied to Google if you want to actually complete many quests. It's just impossible to know what utterly convoluted steps you have to take unless you google it. Especially when you can out-time quests and not meet requirements. Even with a step by step google guide it can be difficult
This is my problem as well. I have no problem needing to find locations of NPCs, but it’s ridiculous that I don’t even get a quest or conversation log of some kind to track what I can even do next. If I don’t immediately drop what I’m doing to do the next step in the quest, I am likely to forget with no real way of being able to discover the last dialogue I was give.
@@THELEGEND-wc2xr veteran souls player here and just like with the other souls game yes it’s a problem. If I have to buy a notepad and some pens and keep them handy (the souls way) yes it’s a problem. I’m trying to slap people around with a big slab of metal not study for a test. They aren’t asking for quests in your face but what they are asking for is a nudge. Breath of the wild did it and no one complained and what is elden ring but breath of the wild on fuck you difficulty. All they are asking for a nudge so calm down.
I feel like Margit is the game's way of telling you "There's a crap load of stuff you can do before this boss. Do some of it, then come back with decent equipment and stats". I had the Bloodhound's Fang +2 by the time I fought him, and he went down fairly easily.
For me it was the tree sentinnel, you knoe what I did? I fought him for 5 hours till i got him then I started exploring, I knrw what I had to do but it was all too overwhelming lol
As a newbie I feel bosses that attack consecutively are still something I can't figure out, it seems they give no opening for attack and I have a fast dual curved swords. I beat Margit purely on more levels and potions, plus the quickstep which is was a godsend. But, on my own I still kinda randomed half of it on the second phase and got hit a lot. Similar patterns still baffle me, can't seem to figure out this thing.
@@FrozenAXL that's something that is hard to explain, just know that your dodgerolls are i frame, you phase trough attacks you roll out of teh way, so basically if its abig attack you will be able to heal or attack 2 to 3 times, and if you have a quick weapon then ususaly between each attack you can put a strike or two. also you endurance matters, even if you attack always have enough stam to roll out
I actually *LOVED* the chest teleport. At first, I was wandering around aimlessly and couldn’t find any real action. Then BOOM! I’m in the Selia crystal tunnel. When I finally escape, “Holy fuck, why is the sky red!?!?” I could’ve fast traveled back to limgrave after getting to the grace, but I didn’t know I could, since I had just started playing. I didn’t even have my horse yet! 😆 I then went up the hill to find a bunch of horrific big headed dogs and crows. I died against them the first time, so I had to sneak past them the second time to get my runes back. I felt like I was trying to escape Hell, and it was fucking amazing!
I literally did the exact same thing, thought it would be good to get some levels before I fought the tree sentinel, went into a cave then boom I was with some shrimp looking dudes. Died probably 50 times before I realized I could fast travel back lmao
Dude we played the same game. I IMMEDIATELY turned right coming out of the starting area and got teleported and didn't know I could teleport back yet, didn't have anything but starting gear. Geez it was rough.
If you fully explore limgrave and the weeping peninsula, Margit is pretty damn easy. Also, pick up Margit's shackle from Patches for an added helpful mechanic.
True, but I totally f***ed up by killing Patches, and losing the questline. You cannot unfortunately atone at the Church of Vows. There is option 2 for the shackle however, thanks to the ring.
Not that this disqualifies the annoyance, but for those getting caught in transporter traps, you CAN avoid them. Just mash the dodge button when opening any chest and your character will backstep out of the smoke before it catches you. EDIT: You can also traverse swamps that usually force you to walk by backstepping, which is significantly faster. There are even Weapon Arts that give you exceptional swamp mobility!
I've never been caught in any of the treasure chest traps for this very reason: you can dodge, and many times people leave messages that warn you about it. I kind of feel like I missed out not understanding this "universal" experience of being teleported to that nightmare cave haha
Fun fact, and yes, I know this is months later: You do NOT have to complete Stormveil Castle to beat the game. You can completely skip Margit and Godrick by finding a secret path around the castle and into the next region.
There is not much bosses with combination of such aggresive attack pattern and small arena, so I would say its perfectly okay to skip Stormveil Castle and come back later. For me personally was much easier to beat Renala and make my way to Altus plateau than beating Margit.
I feel like Margit is a big example of how heaps of NPCs combat seems heavily inspired by Dancer from DS3; that being like a slightly longer animation where you anticipate getting hit earlier and then get bonked after your i-frames. It's like you need to roll a second later than you think you do
They took all the feedback of people loving Dancer and made Sekiro, and people LOVED that too, and so they're encorporating different timings into attacks from then on. Not just faster or slower specific attacks, but also actively held timings, so they could mix things up with the exact same move.
@@KainYusanagi Thats a far better way of articulating it! Actively held timings is exactly what I was thinking about haha. Sekiro is the one I haven't played so I was naive to that progression there
This is my struggle right now, I roll too early. The Dancer is easy for me now because I have her timing down to a T, but even so, it’s much quicker in terms of he attacks so it’s more pinball reaction based as opposed to waiting for the right moment
My favorite note so far: “if only I had a hole, time for seed!” Also I like that there’s no quest markers. I feel like it encourages you to explore which leads to finding cool stuff.
You don't need quest markers. You can place different markers, and you can't really forget the NPC locations. The world doesn't have lots of filler NPCs like other open worlds. So, it's pretty easy to remember the few you meet. Even in RDR2, i always used quest markers, although It was optional. But here, I don't need them. It feels great to stumble upon a lot of random quests
Do wish we could access dialogue if we missed it don't have much interest running around blindly as fun as exploration is many of the quests and items in the game can be missed simply by killing a boss before you talked to an npc.
I have such a love-hate relationship with the message system, too. The constant “but hole” “secret path ahead” messages are a staple of the games and it wouldn’t be the same without them, but if I see one more “try two-handing” by those two armors at the Round Table I’ll lose it.
I'd like to see is a journal that lists all of the NPCs you've met as well as all of the lines of dialogue that you've unlocked with that NPC thus far. The journal could be broken down into sections which could include NPC dialogue, texts from sword fields, the cryptic dialogue with the various ghosts you encounter, all of your recipes learned (maybe turn the cookbooks into a usable item that adds the entries into the crafting section of the journal), and also move the notes and tutorial info out of the inventory and into their own section of the journal. Something like that would be useful but would still require the player to think about the things they are reading rather than have a full-on quest journal or markers.
You can also just not interact with it, once you’ve opened the chest it’s a whole second prompt to interact with the smoke and get warped away. You can just stand still and eventually the chest will close back up.
@@MH-ut1rc Debatable. I've yet to have any complaints about the map functionality 150 hours in. It does exactly what it needs to. Nothing more and nothing less.
First Souls game for me (I intend on playing all of them now) and I gotta say, I caught on to the dying frequently thing pretty quick. Mostly from my time with a full loot pvp game I used to play. I lost a large load of runes the other day due to a cliff and laughed for a few minutes. I'm really digging this game. I love stumbling across stuff. It's such a relief from the constant quest logs and markers in other games and reminds me of the early days in WoW when I'd be excited to see a chest near a bunch of mobs. I really feel immersed in the world and that's something I haven't felt for years.
Same bro. Look at my profile pic, I literally grew up playing only cod😅 I’m so glad I gave this game a shot. I’m addicted. I’m definitely checking out dark souls at some point.
Who the horseman guy with the giant shield. I beat him at lvl20. You can bypass him beat the 2 boses in the caves the cat statue at that half lion guy. They are doable at low lvls then the horseman guy will be beatable. The key is when he does an attack that drains all your stamina he gives you enough time to regenerate your stamina. Also don't fight him with your horse
@@dulzkyriveratovitch256 the horseman is annoyign but can be beat.....wait until players run into the actual strong ones that can use magic attacks and melee lol xD
I love the minimal hand holding however, i wouldn't have minded some sort of journal where some crucial dialogues from quest NPCS get saved. Its sometimes hard to remmeber what wich quest NPC wanted what from you after 20hours of play and the step required for a specific quest just got available.
Especially when you only play a few hours a week. You forget what it is you needed to do. I end up writing quest stuff on my notepad so I know what I need to look out for the next time I play. I never did this for other souls games since they are pretty linear. You just have to explore every single level once and that's it. But with how open Elden Ring's world is, I worry I'll miss too many sidequests. I've played almost 20 hours and am still searching for the tomboy lady a guy in the Roundtable asked me to look for.
Ye a log for dialogue would be nice. Sometimes NPCs will tell you directions and u just have to remember they are. Sometimes they'll disappear so u have to remember the first time they tell you something like when ur trying to find the other half of the dectus medallion. And sometimes they straight up won't tell you where their quest will be like Blaid the wolf guy who tells you to find Dariwill. I like how there's minimal quest markers so u have to find things urself but would it hurt to have some actual directions? Its a big open world Blaid how tf am gonna find a 1 guy if ubdont tell me where he is.
Yeah I made sure to almost entirely do all of the limgrave and weeping area stuff before even heading to him as my first attempt was way too early! Haha
Yup. This whole game is like that. I'm probably like more than 50% through and I have yet to find a boss that gives me more trouble than a couple of tries bc I do all the side content before the critical path
I'm glad they have the whole "If you die before you pick up your runes, you lose them forever" thing because it makes you play a certain way and gives you actual consequence
It's hard to play a game & feel genuine fear as an adult. This gameplay mechanic instills fear, & like you said, consequences. It's close to real life that way, I love it too
I like how there aren't any quest markers. I'm enjoying studying the map and exploring on my own. Most games I get sick of looking at the map and all the markers, so its a nice change for me.
So my issues isn't a lack of markers, but a lack of a log. There is too much to remember, and no way to log what you have and haven't done in a quest line short of keeping a notepad handy for all the conversations you have. It just makes side quests so easy to forget about or miss. It has caused me to spend half my time Googling why the quest I'm working on isn't letting me progress because I missed something
@@mavvynne444 you want to not remember stuff? To each their own, but I want a list of side quests to at least know if I've locked myself out of it or if I missed something before I progress
@@DarkSalvation22 I don't find it a problem personally. I've always kept a notebook for videogames besides me since Ocarina of time, but definitely do understand it's a problem for some players. A game cannot expect you to hold a notebook besides you at all time, however the quests in Souls are structured in such a way that you are going to be guaranteed to fail some and requires multiple playthroughs.
@@FromsoftgoatKaj That's why souls games have thier own genre, they will never be different, if people can't accept that then they should stop playing. I do take in the problems that people are complaining about, but it doesn't matter, the game is made, the game is out and it will never change - the only solutions are - acceptance or stop playing. Sorry if I'm being rude but it is what it is🤐
None of this irritates me all that much... except for the last one. I will tolerate seeing 100 "Try finger, but hole" messages just to see the one that points me in the direction of a critical, largely optional treasure (weapon, incantation, talisman, etc) I would've missed otherwise. But players putting messages in locations that get in the way of playing the game itself is the most irritating part to me. They put them under ladders, right at the very top of them, right next to levers, i've opened a few treasure chests and is met with a message in my face! In most cases the interactive object takes priority over reading the message but every once in a while trying to jump on a ladder before getting sliced in the back feels like a juggling act. Flipping through the option of reading the message to climbing the ladder or running up to a lever and reading the message instead of pulling it while the wave of enemies I ran past start to catch up. Now i'm just going full blown Karen and down voting messages like that based on location instead of just what they are saying lol
I forget what dungeon it was (somewhere between late-Lurnia and Altus/Gelmir) and I ended up losing 150K since I was lower level and my runes got stuck in a dungeon... The only exit from the area being the boss fight and A LADDER guarded by A VIRGIN MAIDEN! there was a message right in front of the ladder
I downvote those troll messages too because they’re more than annoying and i wish those troll players would get banned for life for putting messages on ladders and levers
I actually liked not seeing quest markers but what would have been at least a decent idea would have been a journal in the menu to at least keep track of the dialogs you experience over time with the npc's. Still not necessarily telling you where to go but it wouldn't force you to try and remember every piece of each individual quest, separately. Especially if you're running multiple quest lines
Going back to do side quests once you've already progressed a fair bit into the story is all the more frustrating because NPCs move around and they're not where you expect them to be or you've forgotten someone's name and now you're trying to figure out who it was and what they wanted you to do. Don't need someone to hold my hand but it does often feel like stumbling in the dark.
I loved the Margit Boss fight. Once I became patient enough not to to dodge too quickly when he would do certain attacks, it was a pretty fair and fun fight. That being said, I also made sure not to go into it until level 30, so I was a little bit more prepared in terms of endurance to be able to dodge and attack effectively.
It was easier to love because the site of grace is literally right outside the boss arena. So I always felt motivated to jump back in and try again. What sucks is when the walk back is long.
I love everything about the notes. It almost makes me feel like I'm with a giant group of friends and we're all playing togother at the same time. Wich in a way, is exactly what it is. And all the lighthearted joking notes lightens the mood when I feel like rage quitting.
Tip, in the “group” password settings, make one of the groups “Seekers”, it’s a community of serious secret finders, that help you throughout the game fighting bosses and finding secrets with messages. Boss is weak against fire “Try fire” Secret out of the way to find? They’ll hint “This way, behold, secret!” They’ve helped me a lot. Edit: You can also dodge from chests to escape the gas trap, fun and helpful fact!
Tips before bosses are a grace maaan!! There was one boss weak to blood loss and there was a note. I swapped to my flail and bled that fire dog animal thing!!
But if you dodge, you will never know where it would have teleported you. This question would bug me way more than just losing a few souls * ehem* runes.
One I haven’t seen, not being able to check the map when enemies are aggro in the open world. It should take away fast travel and make it attackable as a trade-off like the inventory. Maybe I’m nitpicking but it impacts exploration when you’re forced off the path into Bumfuck, Egypt
Regarding Margit, in Dark Souls 1 the starting areq diverged into 2 paths, one of which had some very tough enemies. This is how the devs told the players that unless you want a tough challenge you're better off going the other way and come back when you reach a higher level. The same logic applies to Margit: the devs want you to spend some time levelling up in the world before facing him
This is why DS2 ironically had one of my favorite starts in the series. Every choice was valid, but if you ran into something that stumped you you could just go a different way.
first time I play a souls game as a mage, feels like a breeze, not easy mode tho, but definitely better outcomes in boss battles than melee in my experience
Max range for spells is really annoying sometimes, especially when mobs can hit you and your spells vanish just before hitting them. Also, dogs. Worst enemies in the game.
Margit taught me how good I've gotten at learning the systems of the game. Lost a lot at level 25 on my first playthrough. Started a new playthrough after beating it the first time and beat Margit fairly quickly without leveling up once.
People complaining about the lack of quest log: the map allows you to place markers with different icons which is surprisingly useful to remember different locations and what’s there. As limited as it is it’s still a pretty useful feature which I recommend using if you’re overwhelmed
Yea, but people are not used to think for themselves in games. I personally don't like when games tell me exactly where to go. It removes the sense of adventure and From made their world a real joy to explore. I remember playing old Gothic games and legit writing stuff down as a kid. But majority of people playing Elden Ring just follow the golden arrow and then complain about Margit being difficult.
@@_Just_John xD Margit is not even hard which is the sad thing. his moveset is just a little cringe, the game doesnt give you enough defensive resources to actually flow in combat with him so it is literally wait 2 secs longer than usual to dodge his big hits and then everythign else just dodge backwards.
@@kregman6928 Yea, those delayed hits always throw me off at the beginning, but you just have to adjust... So of course Margit is not hard. It's the first boss most people encounter. And ER has a ton of crutches like stat enhancing consumables, summoning ashes, NPCs, other people... Patches even sells an item, which "grounds" Margit for a few seconds. In Elden Ring you can easily control the game's difficulty if you are not lazy to explore. Which is a great game design imo.
I suspect that Margit is only hard if you go STRAIGHT to him. I explored until I was slightly above Lvl 30 and then went to him. He's pretty easy at that point.
I just beat him today, first try, surprisingly started as a wretch, decided to go try my luck at level 25 He's very agressive, true, but I don't think he's that hard idk never finished any other souls game before btw
@@blackfacegaming191 fr. I beat him at like 18 or 19 and it felt pretty fair. I did good enough damage but still got destroyed if I fucked up which happened frequently lol
As a Souls veteran, I WOULD very much appreciate a quest log. It’s great that they did add NPC locations to the map now, but it would be a good convenience, even if it just keeps track of dialog.
I think this would be a bad idea, if you struggle to follow the questline just look it up on the internet or just dont do the quest if you dont know how
I'll admit that fighting Margit was a pain in the ass but then I realized that because of his constant aggression it actually helped me learn to wait to dodge instead of panic dodging like I was doing before. I think I fought him like 10 times minimum and most of those deaths were because I got either overly aggressive or didn't time a dodge just right. More of a learning experience than anything
Equip a dagger or anything with the "Quickstep" art on a spare slot when negotiating poison, Quickstep basically allows you to Sonic the Hedgehog through the poison and reduces build up.
Astounding to me that anyone entrenched in video games cannot see that Margit is an intentional developer decision. He is supposed to be extremely hard for when you are first likely to find him so that you turn around and explore more of Limgrave and get stronger. If he was steamrollable like Taurus Demon, then there are so many nooks and crannies players would not have discovered.
Yea. But people expect the game to tell them everything. "Area ahead requires level 15." was a joke in "What If Dark Souls Had An Easy Mode?" video by Indeimaus made 6 years ago.
okay... so the sellia crystal tunnel has honestly been my saving grace in forms of helping me reach certain levels. Those stupid crawfish-like bugs give an honest runes amount while remaining not the hardest enemy in the world. its a love hate relationship
The "no hand holding" with the quests only means I care even less about the story. It's reduced to me killing some random weird looking fire breathing chicken dog, not realizing it was supposed to be somebody's grandpa or something. Some guy at a desk is like "Thanks for the info!" And I'm like, "What info? Who are you? I thought this was the shop."
I got teleported literally within my first hour...it was not fun...but I did end up leveling up 20 some levels, and was able to beat Margit in 3 tries because of all the training I got in, so there was that lol
They're trolling Skyrim because they knew everybody would say "Open World? Dragons? Skyrim!" Kudos to From! You got a Skyrim HOSS that climbs mountains! Character menu that lets you make your Hawt Character then armour so you never see them! All they missed is Nazeem.
The chests are great. Look at it as a way to quickly jump to a different area of the game without walking there. Worst case scenario, you have to fight/run through a dungeon to escape but it's not so bad. When I got teleported to Caelid, I ended up coming back to farm because it paid better than my farm in Limgrave (the opening area)
I ended at Sellia Crystal Tunnel with like less than lvl 15 with 19k runs to lvl up. Salt to injury, I ended entering the boss obviously dying and unable to recover them bcs of the boss being insanely difficult at low lvls. So I ended accepting reality and c’est la vie let’s move on. That was my 1st meaningful amount of runes lost.
I’m more annoyed about how many dishonest “hidden path ahead” notes there are. A few neckbeards are soiling their socks with glee in how funny they think they are.
@@WimpieInator There are but not that many. I found a catacomb with some and i've seen them in a couple of other spots. They're pretty rare though I think.

*Margit isn't even that difficult if you take the time to explore the southern part of the map* It's arguably one of the easiest areas, and one of the most rewarding. Especially for the early game
TRUE, you can get the fucking moonviel in caelid for gods sake, one of the best weapons in the game. Not to mention summons, the free 30 ish levels at the start of the game from big dragon in caelid, the fact you can +9 unique weapons before margit, the fact you can simply walk past him and godrick and go straight into the liruinia, atlas plateu, etc.
>People hate how there are no quest markers Honestly... The lack of quest markers made the game so much better. I was excited to explore and find things.
Missed my number one annoyance, not updating their junky co-op for something a bit more appropriate for such an open world. "Hey cool, my buddy and I found a dungeon, ok, let me leave, ride my horse over, then take two steps past the fog wall for a re-summon." I swear I've spent as much time leaving and joining friends as I have playing the game with them lmao
It would be cool to be able to port the party to certain graces in dungeons as long as a boss hasn't been slain. Like you can't go to any open world grace or the roundtable hold, but a catacombs, or cave, or another location that you can summon for a mini-boss. And as long as the host has the grace, then the whole party can port to it.
Spell range is number one. Don't allow targeting if you can't reach them. Also, some AOE spells mysteriously miss baddies that are clearly in the area but might be slightly off up/down, like on a ramp or in a little divet
Your first point isn't really reasonable. Different spells have different range. You want them to make the lock on switch ranges when you switch spells? Just remember the range of your spells. It's not that bad
For number 8 a simple solution would be a hide helmet option In the settings so you still gain the stats from it but it shows your characters head instead
Actually Nioh games have that option. I have always wondered why From Software haven't thought about it. I will still play without the helmet though, cause I ain't accurately creating a character to hide it under a mask afterwards :D
Yeah but isn't dark souls character creator the first back stab challenge the game throws at you? Where you work hard to make your character fit your immersion and then cover the face with a helmet.
…You can also take off the helmet??? Like am I the only one doing that? Full armor, no helmet or hood. That point really blew my mind how nit picky people can be. Also, what’s the point of a helmet that doesn’t cover your face?
Why some of the helmets are actually badass looking and let's be real dark souls has never had a good character creator and it's not like there is dialog cutscenes like in Witcher 3 or dragon age where it would look stupid to be wear a helmet inside a safe zone while talking to people. That option seems pointless in this game.
About the npc's not being marked, it's both us and no. Those who stay in a specific location for a period of time will be marked, once you find and interact with them. But in unfortunately for those who's quest lines your trying to complete, one you trigger an event that causes then to move to their next location, then it becomes difficult to remember where your supposed to go, and what your supposed to do. Specially if and when you get side tracked.
Pretty sure I saw a "Display Helmet" toggle in a menu somewhere... Also, you can avoid the teleportation traps by backing away from the chest after you open it. Just avoid the cloud.
@@BarcelonaRussia man i see ur trolling and replying to these comments and i think that instead of wasting ur time here for a pointless joke go play ur favorite game
There is an option to remove the helmet in the status menu.... however, it ONLY removes it in the actual status menu. It unfortunately doesn't remove it in game.
@@BarcelonaRussia fifa is over complicated pong. There's nothing wrong with liking that, but there's nothing revolutionary or immersive to sports games in general.
The crystal tunnels got me to an early rune farm that got me a lot of levels. It was great for me. As far as quest markers/etc I like exploring, but when you have a bunch of vague comments that probably don't mean anything to you when you hear it... it would be nice to have a journal that would document your encounters so that you could remember what that one dude said 90 hours ago before he vanished off the face of the planet. Also, don't understand why people think that giving zero logs is something new. All the barebones games in the early days were like that. Giving markers and an on screen quest list were the new thing. A nice in between that some older games gave was a journal and I really like that since it doesn't hold your hand but still makes the info accessible without taking notes irl or looking up guides. If the player feels a need to track stuff outside the game then it's probably not well designed.
This. I dont want my hand held but i've put nearly 100 hours into this game already and havent beaten it yet. Theres no way I am going to remember what fuck head depressed boy said 30 hours ago over multiple days of play. Don't give me a damn quest marker, but a journal of "you met so and so here and they said this and then said they were traveling east". I will scour the map eastward if im interested in that quest line. Esp in a world as open and as large as this. In dark souls this format worked because it was pretty linear in progression, you would likely come across those NPCs again. I completely missed the invade questline at first because i just never found the rose church until a friend told me about it.
@@Cheesus-Sliced You're right. However, I had no idea where the Rose Church was and frankly forgot about it because I was like 15 hours deeps before I ever even got into linuria
Yeah if this game had a quest journal it would be a 10/10 for me i love the combat and the challenge of the bosses and the enemies but im terrible with names and can’t remember what so and so said like u said i don’t want a marker to were to go but i would like a way to track what so and so did
Remember dying in this game is a mechanic meant to happen. Your character is immortal the bosses are not. You can always come back and try again. There is a formula to every fight once you pick up on it your good. Always spend all your runes before going to a big battle. If you have no runes you have nothing to loose
I spent an hour creating a gorgeous femme fatale and burst out laughing when I started the game as a samurai 🤣 I immediately took the helmet off! Souls fashion is all, Cleanrot Knight or Crucible Knight Siluria armour sets my favourites, I come from the area in Wales where the ancient Celtic Silures tribe lived too so feel a kind of kinship with the Crucible set, there’s lots of Welsh accents & references in the Lands Between so I feel right at home 🙂
I love not having quest markers. I'm get overwhelmed with too many trying to complete stupid tasks ruins the game for me. This one has quests with decent rewards and you can pick the ones you want based on your character.
I honestly feel like Margit was almost more like the bosses in Bloodborne. I've never played any Dark Souls games but I got pretty far in Bloodborne and Margit wasn't terribly frustrating, sure I died maybe like 10 times before finally beating him but I never felt like it was futile
Quick tip here against the swamps. Make sure you have a weapon with the weapon art "bloodhound step" with you. Its a quick dash that allows you to speed through these areas. I love how they gave you tools to help, as long as you seek them out and think that far ahead Hopefully, someome can confirm if this works with the regular quickstep aswell
I think the face thing is spot on, it could easily be fixed with an option to turn off your helmet showing that way you can still have the stats of the armor but also be able to show off your customization
I wonder how the lock on mechanic didn't make it on this list. It's so annoying when you look straight up to an enemy but it won't let you lock on to him. Or when the enemy is behind you and when try to lock on, you look in the opposite direction exposing your back to the enemy. Can't say how many deaths this caused for me.
100% agree! Doesn’t help if the camera can’t find anything to lock on it’ll swing to where you’re facing which usually is the opposite direction I want when I’m running away from a boss xD!
8:30 Yes a notepad is helpful, however, the map gives you different marker icons in which you can mark npcs, boss locations, unexplored areas etc. NPCs are marked on the map after speaking to them. It has a great marker system that is constantly overlooked.
Every teleporter chest has been beneficial and fun to me. I really like them. I hate going through a hidden path, fighting a ton of enemies, some of them hard, going through this clearly made to be explored path.. and nothing. Not a damn thing at the end of it.
One of them sends you to the capitol when you're still early in the game and you can run up and grab a super good early talisman for HP recovery over time. You can run past the giant and back to the grace.
I find it nice that in most cases if you find a boss challenging to the point of frustration that you can essentially put it off until later and come back to it stronger. For the trap chests you can roll out of the smoke if you do it pretty quick and you won't be teleported. And yeah I actually get really annoyed with messages right on top of or next to other interactions. Thankfully you can just dpad over to which you want to interact with. I'm new to this series and really liking this game. I kinda knew some of what I was getting into though like the no map markers or hand holding in general.
The fact that you lose weapon switching if there's any context objects around (such as a blood pool and a message) is not great, but my most hated thing is the Starscourge Radhan fight. The horse is just not good enough for that encounter, it's dodge doesn't work well. Fighting him melee is better, but he has a couple of over tweaked attacks that prevent a fun melee.
I actually thought he was kind of easy for me. I was using a sorcery build on horseback and only got hit a few times. For range you definitely have to utilize the npc summons though. Took a few tries because he kept insta-killing me with his arrows in the beginning.
@@dr.wolinsbelt I thought he was on skates at first cause I thought the horse fell in the cut scene. Then I saw it, and literally died from laughter. and head trauma.
As a first timer from soft player, I killed margit in 4 attempts. I dont know if this helps people much but i used the wolf summons from ranni at the curch of elleh, the 2 plus 2 uchigatanas. I also summoned sorcerer rogier
Same for me, only thing I did different I was weilding Katana and Shield because I didn't think of dual weilding^^ And with Rogier and the Doggos it was do-able, even though it took a few tries to figure out at least some of his movements
I love Margit. He weeds out the weak and incentivises you to explore the open world qt the same time. He's such an amazing challanging boss and the reason I first fell in love with Elden Ring. Not a souls veteran btw.
Margit isnt that hard, you have a spellcaster summon right next to the door to the right before you go in and you get your ashes....beat him 3rd try and low lvl
A couple bosses punish my greatsword build, but I love the freedom to just move on and come back to it since there is no real limit to exploration. Pushing through difficult lands low level is satisfying.
The only thing I hate about elden ring are the multi bosses, they will make two bosses that work and are fun to fight, then put them together when they were definitely not meant to be fought together
The thing with Margit is that the game literally spends an age showing you a myriad of new things. You're meant to take ALL of the new things and blend them together. There's a NPC summon right outside the door (first one you see of its kind), there's a "summon stuff" shrine next to THAT, consumables to throw at him, etc. While yes, you have to do SOME exploring, I've not needed to "grind to level 93" or whatever before attempting him. He's cake at this point. ...but early on, that "oh shit!" moment of first seeing him comes with a wave of panic, and you'd better have learned those lessons well that the game has been showing you.
My first two attempts at Margit were basically a recalibration of my Souls expectations. I missed the summons, rolled at all the wrong times and got punished for trying to tank with a level 11 Vagabond. After those two attempts I roamed the map picked up some knowledge, weapons and levels before taking him out with only minor difficulty.
Please pin! 8:26 Fromsoftware actually added an update where NPCs are marked on the map. The marker looks like a square with a red hooded figure. Figured I’d mention that
One thing that drives me nuts in this game, is, when you're knocked prone by a boss, it takes way too much time for you to stand back up, during which time you have no chance because the boss continues to pulverize you. So flippin' annoying. UPDATED: Thanks for all the helpful replies, I am a Soulsbourne noob, heheh, so I didn't realize I could simply roll and get back up quickly. Thanks guys!
Or when they “strategically” hide enemies behind every wall in every cave so you will more than likely get hit for a big chunk of your health. That’s also extremely annoying. The devs are super petty
Especially knowing that in sekiro, you dont stand until you roll away, but here you dont have control over it. So its definately something they could have added 🤔
Having grown up with Morrowind, I've come to enjoy the lack of markers for quests. Exploring and adventuring throughout games' worlds and then finding that I'm far better equipped for the game has always been a point of pride after the fight and then when I get slapped around by the next boss after a few dozen times, it tells me to explore a little more and try out different approaches with gear.
The only thing I hate about this game is having a full HP / FP and accidentally pressing the use flask button. If it's full, it should just bypass it not waste a flask.
The inability to see via the map which dungeons have been completed is literally my only gripe with this game. But, im not new to FROM, so im used to being lost.
As someone that has played all of the Souls games, the one thing that I always hated were enemies with great bows because, more often than not, they knock you down if they hit you. The most annoying ones are definitely the ones that shoot you when you are trying to platform. The ones in Anor Londo especially come to mind.
I think Margit's difficulty is good personally, cause it teaches you that you shouldn't just follow the main path. While you can certainly beat him when you first can, it's so much easier if you just wander for a bit and level up.
I beat Margit on the third try. I found an ash called "Rotted Stray" when a treasure chest teleported me somewhere nasty. I summoned it and Roger, put on my quickstep daggers and just went for bleeds.
*THE TOP THING OF ALL TIMES:* There is a Boss in the game you can encounter after you beat Radahn. He can ONESHOT me regularly with an attack and I have 1500 HP and roundabout 25% to 31,5% resistances all over the place. This does not feel challenging, it feels pretty lame in design. But I am going to get him just watch. ;)
Not related but I found a cool little thing. If you go into a poison swamp and summon torrent while walking in it he’ll be green. I love my green horse.
The teleporter chest was the first chest I tried to open, I was so disappointed when I got teleported. I was stuck in that little shack for half a hour…
1 thing I have mixed feelings about is how this is the 1st Fromsoft game where leveling up actually makes a difference. B4 it just felt like you got strong enough to have a chance at the next boss, but here if you do all the side content you can likely overpower anything. With all the additional combat mechanics and easy path to upgrades due to naturally leveling up in side content, I haven't found a boss that has actually challenged me since taking on the tree sentinal in the very beginning and the Crucible Knight while I was purposely underpowered. It makes sense in an open world game, bc if you didn't noticably power up then the side content wouldn't feel as rewarding and having enemies too strong for you is the best way to indirectly tell you to come back later. But that more directed challenge is an aspect I miss about the semi linear style of their other games when they could better predict player levels. This was one thing that made Sekiro esp so great to me, bc it's not an RPG so From knew exactly what upgrades you'd have and how powerful you'd be at each fight and could always test you purely on skill. Now if any area is giving me a problem I know I can just do other stuff and come back and kick ass. And areas are always either to powerful for me at that moment or underpowered and I usually just die to gank enemies and my own impatience rather than direct challenge. There's less of a "well I guess I just have to find a way to win to progress" feeling this time. You could say I could just take on harder areas earlier by choice but it doesn't feel as rewarding as when you know the game intended this challenge, which is always what made From games so special. Don't get me wrong I love the open world and I'm not saying it's bad. It's just a consequence of the new style and I personally prefer the old way for what I enjoy about these games. They also upped the amount of sniper enemies that will wreck your ass from further than you can fire I guess to compensate. But that's just more of a nuisance than anything.
If you play Elden Ring please seek a nearby therapist and touch some grass on the way out.The worst game ever there’s no way this game has 10/10 fifa is better than this overrated game..
Basilisks, beast torch is effective. Some are still scripted to attack when you move to a certain location, but it's usually a "player stepped here so i use this attack" and not an actual aggro. Usually, you can just ignore them though. My first time seeing them, underground in a dark area. Had the beast torch, so actually didn't know how dangerous they were, found out they died to melee easily enough, especially cuz they weren't aggroing.
What’s been annoying me is the bosses I beat in a few tries are the ones people say are ridiculously hard but then the bosses other people say are pushovers I’m struggling SO much with.
Kind of a Souls staples. It comes down to individual skill and build/level/gear. Margit is a lot easier as a mage (technically), while other bosses are a mage's bane of existence.
@@Acal51 If you're a masochist, you can always equip a bow, haha. Dodge roll, shoot. I have no idea how many arrows you'd need though. Probably like 100.
One thing I don't particularly like that did not get mentioned is when you're doing an npc quest, sometimes the npc move after a certain phase in their quest, to a location previously undisclosed, and the game gives you no way of knowing where to go next other than dialogue, but sometimes the game doesn't give you dialogues of locations to begin with, not that you would know instantly unless you've explored the map thoroughly.
Yeah no kidding. I gave Corhyn a book for incantations, saw that I needed X amount to buy them, left to farm and when I got back he already peaced out to follow the guy with a sun mask. Now I gotta go find that weirdo again.
I loved all the things in this video. Poison swamps in particular are great imo since they can drastically alter how you progress and fight in an area.
Margit was legit my realization that this game was no joke hard. I love it and hated it. I must've faught him at least 30 times and when i beat him I had the mental rush to explore the castle and find the next boss
I've played through dark souls 1-3 and this Margit is my second favorite first boss is Gundyr from dark souls 3 took me 3 hours to beat him with the thief starting class and I've been hooked since. Margit was much easier for me but guess that's just since I've learned how to play this style of games.
I actually really like the chest teleports. You never know where you're going to end up and a lot of them show off really cool areas I need to go in the future which acts as a nice incentive to keep going and exploring.

The actual No 1 is a double annoyance: Resurrecting Torrent
Step 1: Get a message informing you that you are about to use a flask to resurrect Torrent (which will lock everything but basic movement until accepted/declined)
Step 2: It's defaulted to NO (making you swap to the D-Pad, so not even able to move anymore, to change it to YES)
So true
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks that this is absolutely awful

Odd... but the trap was disarmed so it should be safe to open agai-

I didn’t even have my horse yet! 😆 I then went up the hill to find a bunch of horrific big headed dogs and crows.

Fun fact, and yes, I know this is months later: You do NOT have to complete Stormveil Castle to beat the game. You can completely skip Margit and Godrick by finding a secret path around the castle and into the next region.
Yes but if you cannot beat them you got no chance later on .
There is not much bosses with combination of such aggresive attack pattern and small arena, so I would say its perfectly okay to skip Stormveil Castle and come back later. For me personally was much easier to beat Renala and make my way to Altus plateau than beating Margit.

honestly fighting Tree Sentinel at lvl 1 felt harder than Margit cuz I decided to grind every boss i find
Sekiro is the one I haven't played so I was naive to that progression there
Dancer fucked me up back in the day omfg...
See, this is why I just use the headless knight, fireballs, and a morning star.
I found the map short actually 😭
You don't need quest markers. You can place different markers, and you can't really forget the NPC locations. The world doesn't have lots of filler NPCs like other open worlds. So, it's pretty easy to remember the few you meet.
Even in RDR2, i always used quest markers, although It was optional. But here, I don't need them. It feels great to stumble upon a lot of random quests
My favorite is: Still no lover, Time for jumping off
My favorite: "Try two handing, but be careful for seed!"

Exactly. They did it brilliantly in Divinity Original Sin. Elden Ring could use this feature
Just a tip for anyone scared of those transporter chests. If you spam dodge to get away from the gas it doesn’t teleport you.
You can also just not interact with it, once you’ve opened the chest it’s a whole second prompt to interact with the smoke and get warped away. You can just stand still and eventually the chest will close back up.

I love the minimal hand holding however, i wouldn't have minded some sort of journal where some crucial dialogues from quest NPCS get saved. Its sometimes hard to remmeber what wich quest NPC wanted what from you after 20hours of play and the step required for a specific quest just got available.
Yeah, if any souls came was gonna have a questlog or something, it was this game.

@@akmal94ibrahim ah yes. That one
For me Margit was the definition of the “when you do all the side missions first” meme. Was between level 30 and 40 when I fought him.
I tried fighting him early on didn't go so well came back lvl 30 to 35 and clapped him and godrick
Honestly I think he's easy by lv18 or so when I came back to him I tried at lv8 first and that was a mistake
Godrick is officially balanced against lvl 40 characters.
I'm glad they have the whole "If you die before you pick up your runes, you lose them forever" thing because it makes you play a certain way and gives you actual consequence
I get the appeal, but it just overshadows the fear of losing to a boss with the fear of losing hard earned money
It's hard to play a game & feel genuine fear as an adult. This gameplay mechanic instills fear, & like you said, consequences. It's close to real life that way, I love it too
Yeah but try to reach your runes on Torrent by a clif
I like how there aren't any quest markers. I'm enjoying studying the map and exploring on my own. Most games I get sick of looking at the map and all the markers, so its a nice change for me.
So my issues isn't a lack of markers, but a lack of a log. There is too much to remember, and no way to log what you have and haven't done in a quest line short of keeping a notepad handy for all the conversations you have. It just makes side quests so easy to forget about or miss. It has caused me to spend half my time Googling why the quest I'm working on isn't letting me progress because I missed something
A lack of log is what this game needs. Too many things to remember
Remember that downvoting the message still heals the person
Don’t forget about blocking sites of grace with messages
I downvote those troll messages too because they’re more than annoying and i wish those troll players would get banned for life for putting messages on ladders and levers
I actually liked not seeing quest markers but what would have been at least a decent idea would have been a journal in the menu to at least keep track of the dialogs you experience over time with the npc's. Still not necessarily telling you where to go but it wouldn't force you to try and remember every piece of each individual quest, separately. Especially if you're running multiple quest lines
Ikr! I even wrote dialogue on my notepad
I think alot of the dialogue is in the menu where the paintings etc are
Going back to do side quests once you've already progressed a fair bit into the story is all the more frustrating because NPCs move around and they're not where you expect them to be or you've forgotten someone's name and now you're trying to figure out who it was and what they wanted you to do.
Agreed but like number one on the list I hate the ladder messages but I do like the ones in chest it’s like you get double loot

Tip, in the “group” password settings, make one of the groups “Seekers”, it’s a community of serious secret finders, that help you throughout the game fighting bosses and finding secrets with messages. Boss is weak against fire “Try fire”

The same logic applies to Margit: the devs want you to spend some time levelling up in the world before facing him
Ds3 was the only souls game that got ride of multiple choices at the start.
If you go to the weeping peninsula it’s pretty easy and spot of materials for starting out I’m there at lv 54 lol
It was there in demons as well. You can always stumble into tough locations. You've to explore
This is why DS2 ironically had one of my favorite starts in the series. Every choice was valid, but if you ran into something that stumped you you could just go a different way.

Astounding to me that anyone entrenched in video games cannot see that Margit is an intentional developer decision. I swear I've spent as much time leaving and joining friends as I have playing the game with them lmao
Use the effigy if they are oustide of a boss. Puts your summon side at all boss fights
Spell range is number one. Don't allow targeting if you can't reach them.
Also, some AOE spells mysteriously miss baddies that are clearly in the area but might be slightly off up/down, like on a ramp or in a little divet
Yup. That's jank like only Dark Souls can provide.
Take your damage reduction like a man.

I will scour the map eastward if im interested in that quest line. Esp in a world as open and as large as this.
In dark souls this format worked because it was pretty linear in progression, you would likely come across those NPCs again. I completely missed the invade questline at first because i just never found the rose church until a friend told me about it.

Hopefully, someome can confirm if this works with the regular quickstep aswell
I think the face thing is spot on, it could easily be fixed with an option to turn off your helmet showing that way you can still have the stats of the armor but also be able to show off your customization
One message that made me laugh out loud was “liar ahead”. Pretty basic, then you go a bit further and the next message says “liar behind”.

Yes a notepad is helpful, however, the map gives you different marker icons in which you can mark npcs, boss locations, unexplored areas etc.
NPCs are marked on the map after speaking to them.
It has a great marker system that is constantly overlooked.
I noticed caves are marked in a brownish color circle
Every teleporter chest has been beneficial and fun to me. I really like them. I hate going through a hidden path, fighting a ton of enemies, some of them hard, going through this clearly made to be explored path.. and nothing. Not a damn thing at the end of it.
ikr the one with the giant felt like that... on the other hand they always give you nice shortcuts to graces on far areas
That one teleporter chest dungeon outside the Capital is annoying as fuck the first time through though, idc who you are
One of them sends you to the capitol when you're still early in the game and you can run up and grab a super good early talisman for HP recovery over time.
The problem i have with this is wanting to switch weapons when standing on the spot.
Just a mild annoyance
Some places you want to portal to tho

But him riding his tiny horse is hilarious 😂
@@dr.wolinsbelt I thought he was on skates at first cause I thought the horse fell in the cut scene. Then I saw it, and literally died from laughter. and head trauma.
That was one of my most favorite fights. Sure I got really pissed but I loved it
As a first timer from soft player, I killed margit in 4 attempts. I dont know if this helps people much but i used the wolf summons from ranni at the curch of elleh, the 2 plus 2 uchigatanas. I also summoned sorcerer rogier
Same for me, only thing I did different I was weilding Katana and Shield because I didn't think of dual weilding^^
And with Rogier and the Doggos it was do-able, even though it took a few tries to figure out at least some of his movements
@@gagelane9952 then you were already good. Most need to Git Gud to beat him
Or just go get margit's shackle
I beat him first try and I’ve never touched a souls game before
True by the time I came back he was easy
40+ hours in and i dont think i hate anything about it so far. Maybe some bosses suck to fight with my build but thats anout it.
Radahn in particular
A couple bosses punish my greatsword build, but I love the freedom to just move on and come back to it since there is no real limit to exploration. Pushing through difficult lands low level is satisfying.
@@garrethendrix6643 if you got it: smack him twice with the Dragon Rot thing. You can then basically AFK the boss.
The only thing I hate about elden ring are the multi bosses, they will make two bosses that work and are fun to fight, then put them together when they were definitely not meant to be fought together
@@shirotheshibainu2103 i know precisely what ur talking about...
You don’t take damage when knocked down
You're invincible in the floor, and u can pretty instantly stand up with a roll
Especially knowing that in sekiro, you dont stand until you roll away, but here you dont have control over it. So its definately something they could have added 🤔
@@rewbles6247 you must be new here, keep your head in a swivel tarnished you’ll be okay
Having grown up with Morrowind, I've come to enjoy the lack of markers for quests. Exploring and adventuring throughout games' worlds and then finding that I'm far better equipped for the game has always been a point of pride after the fight and then when I get slapped around by the next boss after a few dozen times, it tells me to explore a little more and try out different approaches with gear.
sameeeee, was thinkng bout Morrowind the whole vid
You can actually sneak out of Selia mine easily. I think it's intention was to teach players to not overlook sneakily escaping as a possibility.
Also some of the stuff in the mine is useful eventually, so I think they want you to know where it is
By the time I even got teleported there I was already level 30 so I just bodied everyone
The only thing I hate about this game is having a full HP / FP and accidentally pressing the use flask button. If it's full, it should just bypass it not waste a flask.
Forever doing this
The inability to see via the map which dungeons have been completed is literally my only gripe with this game. But, im not new to FROM, so im used to being lost.
There’s a grace at the start of every dungeon if you can’t teleport to the dungeon you most likely didn’t complete it
@@iv_dominic_vi6242 are you sure its TO and not FROM? No not trying to be funny. I cant teleport out of dungeons but can telepory to them.
@@SpecialistGuava Guy above me is right.
@@maximusstorm1215 the guy above you or the guy above me? Lmao
@@SpecialistGuava I was agreeing with the fact you can't fast travel from a dungeon if you're in it but you can fast travel to them.
The over world map has a handy icon function. Place your icon pins on useful npc or locations. Not perfect but subtle reminder

As someone that has played all of the Souls games, the one thing that I always hated were enemies with great bows because, more often than not, they knock you down if they hit you. The most annoying ones are definitely the ones that shoot you when you are trying to platform. The ones in Anor Londo especially come to mind.
True
I think Margit's difficulty is good personally, cause it teaches you that you shouldn't just follow the main path. While you can certainly beat him when you first can, it's so much easier if you just wander for a bit and level up.
Ohh boy, I’m savoring the tears when all these people fight the Godskin Duo
I beat Margit on the third try. I found an ash called "Rotted Stray" when a treasure chest teleported me somewhere nasty. I summoned it and Roger, put on my quickstep daggers and just went for bleeds.
*THE TOP THING OF ALL TIMES:*
There is a Boss in the game you can encounter after you beat Radahn. He can ONESHOT me regularly with an attack and I have 1500 HP and roundabout 25% to 31,5% resistances all over the place. This does not feel challenging, it feels pretty lame in design. But I am going to get him just watch. ;)
Get the mimick spell
@@talkadelics I have a plan but thx for the advice.
I hate when I'm fighting a dragon and some goat joins the fight and starts bumping into me. Nah , just kidding , it's hilarious.
Not related but I found a cool little thing. If you go into a poison swamp and summon torrent while walking in it he’ll be green. I love my green horse.
The teleporter chest was the first chest I tried to open, I was so disappointed when I got teleported. I was stuck in that little shack for half a hour…
Those centipedes are killers
just to find out all you got to do is run behind the shack to get the grace
With the trapped chests, you can easily avoid being teleported to someplace random by rolling back as the animation finishes on opening the chest.
If you play Elden Ring please seek a nearby therapist and touch some grass on the way out.The worst game ever there’s no way this game has 10/10 fifa is better than this overrated game..
We have Electronic Arts fanboy troll here
@@redseagaming7832 be careful what you say to EA or me g 👍🏽 I’m the only person here with a valid opinion
@@BarcelonaRussia nope
Very true, except for the first time I opened a trapped chest, I’ve been able to avoid them every time
Basilisks, beast torch is effective.
Thought I was the only one with this problem 😂😂 i can't trust the RUclips anymore when they call a boss easy
Kind of a Souls staples. It comes down to individual skill and build/level/gear. Margit is a lot easier as a mage (technically), while other bosses are a mage's bane of existence.
@@Diree definitely this. My melee class can only get him down to 1/3 health. Mage got him in 2 tries.
Haven't watched the video yet but going to nominate player messages and blood stains in front of ladders and levers when mobs are attacking you
I loved all the things in this video. Poison swamps in particular are great imo since they can drastically alter how you progress and fight in an area.
Margit was legit my realization that this game was no joke hard. I love it and hated it. I must've faught him at least 30 times and when i beat him I had the mental rush to explore the castle and find the next boss
I hated and loved the fight too, it was so *thrilling!* best boss I've ever fought in a game
I've played through dark souls 1-3 and this Margit is my second favorite first boss is Gundyr from dark souls 3 took me 3 hours to beat him with the thief starting class and I've been hooked since. Margit was much easier for me but guess that's just since I've learned how to play this style of games.
.... just to get more and more confidence with the regular enemies, and then die horribly to boss lol been there alot
Beat him 6th try but hated that save so got new one beat in one try
