I have had tinnitus for about 8 weeks now and my therapist sent me the link to your video as one of my weekly homework items. The video is excellent and it describes the journey that I am on. It is encouraging. I have moved passed trying to find the cause and onto mitigation through various forms of therapy. I have found relief and I continue to work on improving my awareness combined with sound therapy and hearing aids. I encourage you to continue the work you are doing, you are reaching lives and changing outcomes for the better!

I don't knock anyone using psychological means to reduce distress in relation to Tinnitus, but isn't it pretty disingenuous to frame it like other options exist? Rather than it being the most effective treatment option, isn't it actually the only one? I wish more research was put into actual medicine, or technological intervention to combat Tinnitus. Just because you can cope with it over time doesn't mean anyone should be forced to feel the emotional roller coaster that comes with this disease.
I don't know. You're not at fault, you're just trying your best to educate people with the tools available, and I appreciate that. I just feel like this disease isn't taken as seriously as it could be. Especially nowadays, as more and more people become inflicted with this disease as modern life becomes louder.

I agree! Most of these youtubers, like Ben, are selling their services. So they discourage us from seeking psychiatric meds so they can get lots of desperate people seeking help to buy their services, books etc. Dr. Hubbard, who does a video on T Habituation, charges 1000.00 for a session with him 😮. I want the T community to come together and go before Congress to get them to put more attention awareness and money toward research and to get real help for us. There are too many of us for this to be ignored! We are being taken advantage of because of our desperation. I personally am SICK of it!!

I am glad to see that someone is finally taking tinnitus seriously. / I have had severe tinnitus for over twenty years and have tried about everything. I have seen at least 7 or 8 ENT doctors and neurologists, and have literally watched them shut down when I mention tinnitus, ( even if I didn't come in for that.) / I hope you can somehow get through to the many ENTs who have zero knowledge about tinnitus. / Anxiety is definitely part of the equation, but realistically, it is very hard to deal with it when anxiety can come from numerous sources besides the tinnitus. / I have found that any outside noise exacerbates the high pitched shrieking/ringing that I experience, and I prefer silence, as each additional audio input creates greater conflict, as my brain tries to "sort out" the sounds. I have left restaurants because the din of noises multiplies the discomfort...( not from social anxiety, but from multisource sound interference.). Voices become mumbles and music becomes irritating, television is a sensory attack and radio is a rare occurrence. I can only have "one on one" conversations, and that, separated from other sounds (like in an airport or even a funeral). After twenty years I have learned "to live with it", but only because the alternative is to die with it. / I thank God I have a wonderful, understanding wife who endures with me as I strive to search for viable answers. And I'm sure, I am not alone. Thanks again.

Recent I tried taurine over counter supplement for anxiety and green sound when I sleep. it has not stopped tinnitus but I get 7 to 8 hrs sleep a night first time since the plague of tinnitus i would only would get 4 to 5 hrs or less sleep. I fill less anxious by having more sleep. In turn being off that fight or flight roller coaster I would say it has lowered the helpless filling. Going into the 12 th year with tinnitus. When it started I had vertigo so bad I had to spend time in hospital. The ephley maneuver would take care of vertigo. The tinnitus never stopped. When the tinnitus gets unbearable I ushley go into a vertigo attack. Why this has not found a cure is a injustice to the human race!! shame.

I’ve let go of future goals and work related ambitions like others and instead use it as a true reason to focus on my wellbeing it’s different for everyone what that is but use the tools that you still enjoy in life and let go and accept we all make mistakes and out life still has value. Use it a radar of your well-being rather than an invader of the mind

Thank you for this video! I feel like my tinnitus was exacerbated by recent new use of nasal sprays. I have a slew of issues that I’m dealing with regarding ENT. I have TMJ and Eustachian tube dysfunction and which I’m sure are factors that can contribute to the worsening of my tinnitus. I first noticed it when I was taking a lot of NSAIDs for my lower back pain. So I’m thinking that I got ototoxicity from it.
Sometimes I can go many months, maybe even a year or so without “remembering” that I have it. I think what brought this one was speaking to a new coworker whom I saw pause and covered his ear with a finger and all I asked was, “Tinnitus?” He said yes. And we talked about how each of our resulted in over a decade of this phenomenon. Since then, my mind subconsciously has been thinking about it and has sadly seeped into my consciousness.
I firmly believe that releasing the fear and anxiety helps because I’ve been able to do it in the past. It seems to be difficult at the moment since my left ear sounds like there’s a new or worsening hissing sound that I can notice even when there’s white noise around.
I wish there were clinical trials that could find a cure or better treatment!

I've realized through getting tinnitus only a week ago that my biggest problem isn't depression. I'm struggling way more with chronic anxiety. Always doom thinking, always the what if. What if it gets worse, what if I will never have a normal life again. What if I'm not going to be able to habituate. What if I can't sleep. What if it get so bad I take my life.
And I don't know all of this, but that's what I'm worried about. I know that people hear what I hear but softer. Mine is just louder and annoying because if it. I would love for it to go back to what it used to be, because I know if had this ringing before, but it was way in the back ground. It's like 5x louder now and in my head and not my ears.

I used to get panic attacks from tinnitus where I literally shook and was weak at the knees. Went into emergency couple of times.Once to seek emergency psychiatric help it was so bad .Busphorine, Hydroxyzine helped somewhat .Always good to have some hydroxyzine handy even now after 7 years if a bad spike comes along. Small amount taken with magnesium at night does wonders .What started me on the road to some degree of habituation and break from anxiety attacks was a temporary use of 'Neuromonics' "spectral music" app.Their device is out of the question expensive but the app was good while it was available.Hearing aids are a must.I do find "notched music" helpful and listen to two different apps Every morning and during spikes.Lonelyness and not having any emotional support or understanding contributes to anxiety.

But sometimes it’s become a pulsating beep and it scares me...I don’t even dare to watch videos that talk about pulsating tinnitus, for some reason I built up anxiety that it’s dangerous.

So I’ve had anxiety and panic attacks for 8/9 years. A few weeks ago, I heard a light buzz 🐝 in my ear or a ring I can’t tell… so, I live alone im severely worried if this will stay forever. How do I take care of myself and work every day with this noise. I like this video, and I really feel as if more videos need to be done ✅ like this. Can panic attacks and anxiety depression cause this terrible ring in my one ear. I’ve had it for 2.5 weeks. And I think some videos on meditation and relaxing is good too. The all or nothing thinking is what I’ve done for a long time. I have heard a ring in a quiet room, but this is all day long. I had an audiologist Dona hearing test and I got a 100 on the test, and the clinic said I have no ear infection either. I go scared of a tumor in my inner ear.. 😂 this is def annoying and real

What's your take on the relationship of anxiety and hypochondria because I find myself chasing answers and questioning myself every step of this horrible journey. I just got back from an audiologist and that individual gave me tinnitus Masters they work wonderfully they able to let me sleep but now I find myself googling everything and they're saying tonight is Masters can hurt you I don't know what to think
