- 100 meter freestyle world record holder Pan Zhanle just ripped a MASSIVE 46.97 at Chinese Olympic Trials
That is Pan’s third time swimming the 100 free in under 47 seconds, the only other swimmer to do it more than once is former World Record holder David Popovici who has done so twice. Every other swimmer to break 47 only did it once.

Doping accusation - unlike real doping - is the weapon of the a sore loser & the sour grapes, always.
I feel like in the next 8-12 years 46 will the be standard to make finals in meets like world champs or Olympics, just like how 48 used to be around 12-16 years ago or 47 is now
I think you could be right, the depth in the event is getting more and more ridiculous but with everyone piling up in that 47 low range and a few select swimmers dipping their toes into 46s. Hopefully as the field gets deeper and deeper everyone kind of pushes each other to that next level of speed.

He's faster than popovici in the 100 and 400 meaning if he learned how to pace it he'd be 1:42 in the 200
If Popovici has shown us anything it's that success and continuous improvement are not guaranteed.
Even though 23 out of the 30 swimmers tested positive for TMZ before the last Olympics my beliefs are I support each individual swimmer and cheer them on and support them. If they are ever caught using a banned substance then my feelings change forever and I no longer give any support to that swimmer. This swimmer has never tested positive and therefore he is doing incredible things! I support him!
Still worrying something like 23 out of 30 of the Chinese swimmers at the last Olympics had been taking drugs. Following bans most are now eligible for Paris.
That's unfair for Pan, as he is not one of the 23, his not participating in the Tokyo Olympics.
taking drugs has little to no effect on propulsion or feeling the water, it's more of a matter of efficiency

@@Chris-vz2kv Well I’m on your side, but the medication that they were on was a heart medication, that helps blood flow and recovery. So not steroids, but Pan isn’t on medication. Same as all of the swimmers now. I think WADA is still strict with china. In 2017 Sun was tested every week of the year.

10 athletes from the USA in 2014 tested positive and were allowed to compete under the same "food contamination" reason. It was also kept under wraps.

As a coach of 25 years, I don't accept or recognize any Chinese swimmimg performance since the 90's. They have become very good at cheating. I have been waiting for them to slip up. It was always a matter of time.
Where do you coach? What level? International, national etc. I am a coach too. I always wonder how to know if my swimmers or other club swimmers are cheating. I coach in London and I am not a high level coach. I like to learn more and your answer hopefully will be very interesting.

90+% of ppl never really learned history where China is ranked 8th in stripped medals and USA is ranked 4th. In the past 40 years of Olympic, more USA athletes were stripped in medals than China.
