- This week in Track & Field, the 2024 Diamond League season kicked off in Xiamen China. But it would be a 17yo Christian Miller, stealing the show, breaking the U18 100m world record (9.93s), and Armand Duplantis breaking his 8th pole vault world record.
Second year in a row a high schooler has been the worlds fastest man.

Sorry if my mic sounds a bit scuffed at times, I recorded the audio in my car. B)
well thas legend hood isnt it !
When will we get another matehj video?
@@finlaystuart6721 that reminds me!
Did you use AI audio enhancer? It sounds pretty good for a car recording!
Just tinkered with it in audacity and muted some pops. I think i might notice more because i recorded it haha.
THIS is how you cover athletics! Love this channel ❤
Thanks brother :)
This is the opposite of clickbait. Fully underselling the quality of the highlights coverage in this video.
Jumpman's commentary is next level. I enjoy it!
It's crazy that the PROs haven't broken 10s for the 100 this season and we almost in May...😂😂😂
Yet the college and high schoolers have...damn track us interesting...
Jut another day watching the best track and field youtube channel
Courtney Lindsey upheaving the whole sprint world right now. I love it.
Courtney Lindsey will be our hero this year, hes walking away with an olympic gold atleast!
@@JumpmanTF what?!. thats a massive call, and if the O gold is the least, what else is there?
@JumpmanTF one thing about Courtney is he trains with Kenny B. If he is that fast, Kenny is going to be flying when he gets in a race with good conditions.
I just wanted to say it once, so if it happens i look cool hahahha. No but hes going to be a hot contender not a lot of people saw coming last year.
i don't know anything about track and field, but your execution was so well done that i was super hyped the entire video. great job
happy to be getting the word around, glad you enjoyed :)
To the point, fact-packed and hilarious.
Your T&F videos are easily my favorite.
Equal Love for both Track and Field events! Outstanding global coverage!
your updates are the best i look forward to them every week. thank you!!
it's not a u18 wr because he's turning 18 in may but it's an age world record breaking Kiryu's 10.01
Demolished kiryus time as well.
This guy is the Jxmyhighroller for T&F. Love it!
the amount of talent in track rn is crazy
And roids
Jump man, you’re the greatest in what you do😍 your vids are always a must watch
This is very good covering man, thank you for this.Do your thing G!
all of them are unbelieveable for april, cant wait for august
10:30 That's all brother ☝😄
Subbed within the first 30 seconds, I could just tell you make amazing content, glad to see I wasn’t disappointed with the rest of the video❤
after seeing Miller's times last year as a junior in high school, I was really excited to see how he would progress this year as a senior... I did not expect this though, wtf Christian
Im ngl, thought he might have peaked last year and chalking it up to maturing early. But 9.93 is legit no matter what now.
Keep making these videos love them!!!!!
Your coverage is the best. Thanks.
Always!
WOOOOOOOO 10K!! You absolutely deserve man congrats great content as always, best track and field channel by MILES
number 1 fan LFGGGG
Never thought I’d be up with T&F, glad this came up on my page
Absolutely Goated Video!!❤
Throws going crazy. Also love the 100m, too fun
The polevault guy has basically cemented himself for quite some time I think
great coverage, just subscribed
Love to see it
Olympic year and i see the juices are flowing nicely... fun to watch at least i guess;)
Im loving the sketch impersonations
covered everything track and field. wow.
If Jim Hines, the first man to ever break the 10 second barrier, was alive, he'd be proud of this kid. The newer generations keep surpassing the older generations as it should be in sports
Great job. I'm spreading the word about your channel.
Thank you algorithm, for bringing me here
Miller is the entire NIL allowance for Arkansas track if he comes. He's beyond special. If we dont get him, i hope he just goes pro. We're THE school for sprinters.
love the humor
Hey this some good reporting
6.30! He’s getting closer and closer 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
Why even stop there haha.
I guessed your Nationality after 3sec in the Vid and got it right :P the word "Mens" gave it away, proud Linguist xD
courtney lindsey is a wild name
Sorry idk anything about this topic and just stumbled upon this vid in my recommended. the table at 9:26 you call the world record doesn't look familiar to me, am I missing some sub category or something? I thought the men's 100m was the famous 9.58?
Its the under 20 all time leaderboard. Over the past 3 years weve seen the 3 fastest u20s in history, year after year. So the future of sprinting is going to be crazy haha.
Lindsay looked like he lost traction shortly off the line, but still clocked that time. Goodness.
233k views!!!! Let’s go MateHJ!
“World champion of what? The United States?”
-Some guy named Noah.
Trp seems to be copying your video style in his most previous video
I did notice haha. Dog eat dog out there. Tbh was a good video tho XD
Of course they're copying the best videos... Jumpman doing it in a more engaging way tho imo.
Dumb question: Do they not have wind limits in discus? Seems to me that the OKC throw was pretty much carried away by the wind. That and the nassive difference in distance.
Can you do a video about the high school athletes that have already qualified for the u.s. olympic trials highlighted by quincy wilson?
thats a fantastic idea ngl
finally 1v1ing his real skill level
I don’t understand how the throwers just throw so far out of nowhere?? I mean last years there were almost no big throws all year and now it is a big throw every week
Mykolas and katzberg are young, so just a maturity thing but the women... theyre just built different haha
Periodization, determination, & great coaching. Always look behind the scenes. What a year this will be for track AND field!!!!
Olympics is this year and they are progressively going to get faster.. you don’t wanna go all out and potentially injure yourself before the big event especially if you’re the fastest prospect.
That's great, and it's exciting, but practically never do extreme HS prodigies go on to equivalent later-stage careers. They very top of the elite in pro track were great in HS, but rarely extremely aberrant
Something is wrong with sprinters. We had an era where the elite guys were peaking at 9.7 or so around 2005-2012 and we haven't seen anything close to that since. We have tons of young guys that show potential and then fail to improve year after year. I have to think that the training is wrong
8 pole vault WRs makes me think there could be some new tech in the pole.
TBH since Bubka new tech in the pole, the track and the shoes.
W vid
High schoolers are toping in this moment of there season and profesional runners want to wave there best for the olimpics😅
Rampant PED use in high schoolers in top track and field events leads to this. For their health, I hope no adversary effects happen
Flo track, oh you said best thing... 😶
7:07 Ethan will be the man to beat in Paris. This Canadian kid is just so, so dialed in for 2024. His coach is Canadian Olympic shot medalist Dylan Armstrong. GO CANADA!!!
amazed at the athletes that come out of canada, i'd die from the cold up there.
@@JumpmanTF We're just lucky to have some amazingly talented and dedicated coaches up here.
He already said he would run as a woman next season, crazy world
Getting 9th with a 10.24 in high school is stupid
anti-doping test immediately
Check His blood
fr 😭
Even if he’s on the juice it’s still impressive
Check him pc!
am i missing something. usain bolt has the world record does he not lol. or is this an age range
Age grade, also the youngest ever to go sub 10.
Did you get copyrighted to hell for making this?
It's definitely the youth period just killing off who were supposed to be the record breakers this year...even if they do, it's obvious they won't stand long
the pros arent breaking 10 yet because they are in prep for the olympics. Duplantis 'real height' was over 6.35m in 2021. We'll never ever see what he could actually do because they get rewarded per WR, not per cm over the WR...and no love for Simbine's 10.01 into a head wind?..when converted, he is the fastest of all this year so far.
how I didn't see he ran that into a headwind? and I'm sure duplantis will go well higher during his career, hes sitll a young lad.
Is Miller the only person under 18 to crack 10 seconds then ?
Yes! He's the youngest ever to do so.
There are two in Texas that are up next.
bro just forgot about alekna
that was last week boss
yo
Didnt christan miller go positive for drugs or am I just dripping.
That was issam asinga most likely haha
Excellent Wrap-up! Throwers have been bringing it this year already; Ethan Katzberg, Mykolas Alekna, Yaimé Pérez, Val Allman, 19yr old Max Dehning & 15yr old Ziyi Yan in the Javelin! S/O JuVaughan Harrison's outdoor 2.34m WL, his 4th highest jump ever as his HJ Opener & Kenenisa Bekele's 2.04.15 2nd place in the London Marathon (his 3rd fastest time at almost 42yrs old!). Also, s/o Shafiqua Maloney who's having a great start to the year with PB/NRs in 400/600/800/1000/1500/Mile!
I was wondering whether to cover the junior chinese javelin thrower, and i want to see dehning do it again haha
@@JumpmanTF I think you should as it's an interesting one as her 64.28m WU20 Record not only would've put her in the Top 10 in each of the last 2yrs among the Senior Women, but excceds the 64m Olympic Standard! However, she can't compete in Paris due to a bizarre age restriction preventing U18 athletes from taking part in Throwing Events :(
I stg the NERD coaches of the pro's having them peak late is so boring
hard out, need more money in the sport to keep them competitive all year round. would make things a lot more fun.
Insane man
