I'd never seen nor heard of Walker till this video, the youngman is scary good. Great job TRP
Same
He got alot of buzz early this year due to his 60m , He is consistent and a beast
Dropped a 6.51 indoor and eventually got #2 and NCAA indoor championships.
He ran a couple of low 6.5 second indoor 60m this year.
He showed up indoors. But yeah, he went to a JUCO last year then moved up to Iowa. He looks legit. Beautiful form.
To quote family guy, “Phew, I thought they were coming after me (us)”🤣
Kalen is already in world class form. He is also a phenomenal teammate and extremely professional. In just the 2024 indoor season he has made tremendous leaps in progress. This is just the beginning for him!
His start form is stunning. The short, quick stride is brilliant. I'm looking forward to this summer!
Bot ass comment 😂
10.09 +2mps tail wind, and he is clearly on steroids, the deltoids give that away.
@@bomination.Get TF outta here.😂. That kid has been built like that since he was a sophomore in high school. College regimen just put on more muscle. I highly doubt he's been masking drug tests since he was 15-16 years old. Smh
@@PaulWeezy50 thousands of high school athletes are taking steroids, there are well documented stats on that.
@DRAGONFLY101 Never said high school kids didn't take 'roids. Please stay on course. I said I highly doubt this WIDELY recruited collegiate athlete, who has had this SAME athletic frame since he was a sophomore in high school, has been taking them since he was 15 years old. I highly doubt he's been able to skirt the collegiate drug tests all this time as well. Using "delts" as a proper reasoning on a 22 year old collegiate athlete with good genetics is not "proof". 😂
Nice to see someone who looks like me winning the 100!! Inspiration to all the kids that look like him.
Yeah, for sure!
The question now is, does he continue being a privileged white male, unaffected by gravity, wind resistance and lactic acid, basically mocking all the “less Caucasian” athletes around him, or does he become a woman and conquer the world of female sprinting? It’s a tough one but these are the pressures we all have to face in the modern world. Biden 2420.
He's broken through the race barrier.
Is this cultural appropriation?!! lol
Seeing somebody do well who resembles us can be very inspirational....
Back in high school I competed as a sprinter but was only motivated to do so after seeing Valery Borzov win both the 100 & 200 at the 1972 Olympics. Until that time I thought it was impossible for a white kid like me to even compete in the sprints.
That sort of acceleration should see him in the NFL as a wide receiver
that drive phase is crazy... kid can run
Keeps it in low then shifts to overdrive when the reps are matched!
I saw a couple of Walker’s reels on instagram a few months ago, he’s solid.
Yea let's go hawks! Small town Iowa boy.
I'm a small town white boy just tryin to make ends meet don't need your religion don't watch that much TV just makin my livin baby well that's enough for me!!
Trump's new campaign theme song and Trump's new favorite sprinter
@@charlesheffernan8661 phuc tRump and phuc his favorite sprinter!!... beating locals is the best he's going to do white bread!!..🤡🤡🤡🤡😂😂
Thank you for an excellent update. Bravo!
That start is beautiful
His form, especially at the start, reminds me a lot of Su Bingtian. Super cool to see someone flying like that
10.09 +2mps tail wind, and he is clearly on steroids, the deltoids give that away.
@@bomination. He does have big delts, but that alone isn't enough to say if he's taking anything IMO. He may just do a lot of lateral raises, and if shoulders are a genetic strong point for him, it wouldn't be impossible to look like that. He doesn't have huge traps either. Who knows 🤷♂
@@bomination.buddy it’s just hard work, he’s not on steroids bruh stop it
That deltoid will do jack for his speed. Most fast runners have long as legs and average strides or short but fast stride. Most long-distance runners weigh a buck and some change.
Usain bolt is just a beast. He has daddy long legs AND insane strides.
@@zlonewolf sigh, my point is that deltoids grow more than other muscles when you take steroids, your jaw muscle also grows more.
Walker is looking amazing this year; his starts are insanely explosive and I’m loving his front mechanics.
10.09 +2mps tail wind, and he is clearly on steroids, the deltoids give that away.
@@bomination. in all fairness, I wanna comment more here in support of you with this, and more against you on this, LOL! I will just state this…ummm…hmmm…let me clear my throat…umm…LOL, I CANNOT speak specifically about him, first of all! Secondly, one cannot determine PED usage specifically based upon the look of certain muscles, per se, as it the PED’s don’t work the ways folks think they do! The current PED’s for white and upper 90’s percentage of the professionals are ALL using don’t look obvious…they merely AID the athlete in achieving faster performance and recovery results. The athlete still needs to put in all the work…those 80’s and prior drugs will send them straight to the casket or live a miserable life after Olympics, but will GIVE them great results they didn’t earn. These drugs today just aid them in achieving the desires results faster than it should take, or at least allow them to do it within their life instead of in their head, ROFL.
I don’t know if he’s on PED’s, but he’s standing out to me in ways that don’t really make sense, so, you may be correct. His starts are powerful and his front mechanics look good, but he’s not getting tons of SPRING action with his foot/ankles/calves, etc. via air, but he’s getting tons of FORWARD motion with low strides. This is kinda similar to what FloJo did…she didn’t have a big knee/front mechanic action, but she had a very forward action…only thing is she actually reached forward with her arms and lower legs, and he is just doing this without apparently reaching forward much. You could be right, but I’m not gonna be disrespectful unless I have more information.
lol, no they don't. @@bomination.
@DRAGONFLY101 u black "
@@bomination. ok, so let me explain this to folks so they understand. Not so much college guys in particular, but most top sprinters are on PED’s, which is from where we are seeing the over-top fast times! However, they’re not the kinda 70/80’s East German PED’s that make you the Hulk from nothing! The PED’s today basically just help folks get stronger faster, recover from workouts faster, stay stronger longer, etc. The athlete is still doing all the hard work…just faster results. So, I cannot say the looks of his muscles prove he is on the juice…they’re not using that kinda juice today.
Kalen Walker and Matthew Boling are on their way. Good luck at Olympic trials.
rip the timing of the video, fred kerley just ran a 10.03 5 hours ago at the hurricane invitational
I don't think Fred's was wind legal
@@zavionharper6671 i believe it was +1.9
Fred was +1.9 so legal.
@Ghoster311 oh so his video was just wrong lol
He said that in the video, I think he meant best collegiate time
Bro turned on the jets on the first half
Fo sho
Stoked to find this video! Subscribing! Got me hyped for Olympic sprinting! Thank you!
1mil in a day is crazy congratulations man 🎉🎉
Kalen’s previous PB was 10.18 before this race (from TFRRS), so his season opener is his new PB.
10:09 is a world-class time. Good enough to dominate in the Tin or Bronze leagues. Maybe be called up to run the first round of some relays.
@@weedermann you go do it if it’s so slow
Thanks Andrew. Walker is good for the 1st 60m. He's looking good!!!. Still early days but Lyles accelerates in the last 40m. I'm very excited for 2024😊😊
Excellent job 👏
His start is amazing! 🔥
Perfect start technique, great sprint form.
Love this so much! Such a wonderful sight to see.
Those explosive starts are crazy
Amazing technique!
Jalen walker is my fav collegiate sprinter love to see appreciation of him
My current one is Terrance Jones, his energy adds confidence to his entire squad. But Walker is awesome too.
Who is Jalen Walker?
The University of Iowa sprinter.@@PongGod
You would think you would know the NAME of your favorite sprinter? His name is Kalen.
@@gregoryharlston0602 The J and K are right next to each other, do you think it's possible he knows the right name and just hit the wrong letter? People are so fast to jump on another person, and for what, to show how much smarter they are?
Walker has one of the best starts Ive ever seen.
His progression is crazy! He'll def be going sub-10 soon
Going way fab Kale, & beaut to hear Fred is running well,a fave of mine
I am ready for the outdoor season 🔥 🔥 🔥
Walker layin down the flames!! 🏃🏻♂️🔥🔥
He is unique in more ways than one.
Wow. 👍🏾
Wow. He’s a machine!
How can he be #1 if Fred just ran a 10.03 at the same meet???🤔
Legal conditions?

Hope to see you compete in Paris Kalen.

TRP i just watched your interview on ready set go, you guys are awesome!!!
white tears win rain soon !!😂😂😂
Go, Kalen, Go! 🏃♂️💨💨💨
What you talking about Nostradamus? Everything!
Fred is running mad at Noah ❤. Gotta love it. They aren't on the same team until they get to Paris.
Until then it is on!
Nostradamus and the Wide World Of Athletics.
43 seconds into the video you said Fred Kerley ran 10.03, so 10.09 is not the fastest time in your own video, much less the world.
I was looking for this comment. Makes me wonder if the 10.03 was ratified.
@@Patawon I've been in the Records Committee meetings when we have ratified records. There is no such process for non-record performances. The most scrutiny anybody goes through is for an entry standard qualifying performance to a world level meet (so nobody gets into the Olympics on a dubious performance). Today's leader board has not been updated yet.
Clearly states for collegiate level

Just....damn!
Awesome job young man. Ain’t nobody gonna touch you for a while. Dominate!!!!

@@cchoice4919 Aint it funny that he runs for Iowa State? Let's go Caitlyn Clark and Kalen Walker. Iowa State is dominating.....LMAO
This guy leaves the blocks like a AA Fuel dragster!
the acceleraiton in his drive phase is insane, he's prolly a powerhouse in the gym! damn gonna be exiciting watching him through outdoor season.
Huge jump in PR as an opener. Wonder about his upside, improvements are huge. Definitely maintained speed from 60m to the finish.
I feel like Yomif Kejelcha doesn’t get nearly the recognition he deserves. He’s just sort of quietly moving toward/into legend class times everywhere from the mile through the half marathon - more or less all at once. (mile 3:47, (best ever indoor), 3000m 7:23.64 (#4 all-time), 5000m (#6 all-time), 10000m 26:49 (WC silver), half marathon 57:41 (#3 all-time))
Has there been anyone who did that before in the world of distance running? I think you’d have to go back to Paavo Nurni or Emil Zatopek type time periods to find someone.
Maybe the lack of a world record or a major championship title holds him back from that tier of attention?
Has TRP ever done a feature on Kejelcha? I can’t remember.
C'MON MAN! BULLSPIT!!!😂😂😂DOPE'D UP!!!
Also Nico Young dropping 26:52 getting 2nd in 10k. Happened right after this video was posted.
Walker with the 10.09, sharp run.
😂😂😂😂 10.09 wont cut it for Olympic kiddo!!
@@cchoice4919 No one said he will make it to the Olympics. He may get just under 10.00 this season though. Still not make it to the Olympics, the competition is fierce in the US
"LITERALLY" lmfao!
Kalen walker has a diferent speed In his steps high knees to hip, it's very noticeable and impressive. Everyone seems to be running in a natural 1-2 step style, and he is running a 1-2-3- 4 step high knee to hip and Out of the block's picks up and lean's into it. All.the fastest world record holders also have this quicker high knee sprint.
Let's hope the NCAA season doesn't burn him out as it did last year to Britton Wilson and Jaydon Hibbert
Walker is going to run at Florida and I will be anxious to see what he does.
A walker wins a sprinting race
He's running like he's being chased by the cops.
Boy was getting it.
track was never my sport, but i can't imagine coming in 10th place because i was a millionth of a second too slow, what a crazy sport!
3:13………..OOOOOOH………marshmallow beats raisins "…………WOW😊
✊
The secret is his correct lower body biomechanics. Every sprinter with that style of lower body biomechanics drops below 10 seconds. Assafa Powel was a master at executing this correct lower body biomechanics.
Go Hawks! Way to represent.
Walker has got everything to be a world and olympic champion.
Bro hasn't even run sub 10 yet.
Wtf he ain’t running sub 10
@@staffshitty he's kinda new to the bigger scene

He is literally, a high speed ghost!
Walker's a runner.
He identifies as FAST!
Wow. He's super-charged. He must run against a resistance band or parachute to get that kind of surcharge.
KW is whom i will bet on this season. Kid is special and a different story, let’s see ✌🏽

10.09 wow are you serious? I know its early in the season but let him
Break 10 seconds first before we Boling him…
Boling ran 9.9 legal in high school so this dudes progression is not the same.
So glad the indoor season is over
Steven Gardiner running 300-400 M is amazing. You beat him off the block but once at full speed (0:57) nobody can match his stride. He will win summer olympics.
Wow, That's Kid Flash for sur3!
It's a good time. 10.09 would have seen him ranked 25 in the US last year
Can you do a video on gout gout, he is an Australian sprinter who is 16 and just ran 10.29 in 100m
Imagine having to have to go to France with the frogs!
Just for the moment, good luck
10.09 in 2.0..... i mean like
The great Ukrainian Valery Borzov ran a 10.07 in 1972 with absolutely prefect running form. Kalen seems to have more raw talent and if he can refine his top end sprinting form he should easily get well below 10 seconds.
His 2024 60m time would be enough for the 2024 Indoor World Championships Final but not enought to get the medals.
wow, congratulation, you made a video out of thin air...
what happened to the white runner from last year?
TRP... Tebogo is running the 400m today...he said if the weather and the body respond he might drop a crazy time...be alert...🔥
*University of South Florida Alumni Invitational
Not Southern Florida :(
Forrest Gump lives! Lol
Totally ray zist wyt guy smokin all clacks!!? ; )))
"Yes! He's whiiiiiiiii-oh...no he isn't".
He runs on his tippy toes.
So Steven Gardiner opened his season with a 31.99 and Tebogo with a 30.69 now I can see Tebogos 400m potential is scarier than I thought..😢
Tebogo could actually be the first person to run under 43 seconds.
Tebogo will concentrate on the shorter sprints, which are more popular and will get him more money
He'll probably wind up in Botswana's 4x400m relay pool, though.
