Tebogo's form makes a 44 second 400m look like a jog.
He make it look effortless.
He might can break 400m record
Yeah he “might can break the 400m record”
@@gottideif he tries he can win gold this year I think
@@chriswillis7315oh please lol
Tebogo legitimately deserves to be compared to Usain Bolt in terms of his trajectory.
Easily! Nobody I can think of will equal Bolt in the 100m but this guy is a serious threat to break Bolt's 200m wr. His start out of the blocks is absolutely insane. Even crazier is that he is a full five inches shorter than Bolt. What crazy strength! Never seen anything like it!
Actually in the 200 race he was catching up noah at the end rather then at the start
Letsile Tebogo moves so smoothly, like a Human rotary engine.
wankel engine.....
Lets not forget either that Tebogo is still over a year younger than Bolt was when he set his first 200m world record, as well as Blake when he ran 19.26. Those two improved by larger amounts in those years than the amount that Tebogo is currently off of the world record. I'm not necessarily predicting a world record from Tebogo, but anybody who refuses to accept the potential that it could happen is looking at previous eras with rose-coloured glasses. 19.19 will fall at some point, and Tebogo looks as likely as anybody to do it.
I can see Tebogo doing the 1, 2, and 4 as well in the future. Imagine a 3 gold championship
@@ericwong3868 That would indeed be incredible, but I'd rather temper my expectations in that regard. There's a reason that triple has never been attempted, much less completed. It's almost impossible, and Tebogo hasn't even won a single gold yet, let alone three simultaneously.
@@ericwong3868 way too much for the body to handle
@@TheoOJamaloO1 maybe on one special year. But I definitely see your point
That 100 200 400 triple would be 12 competetive races in a week that injury potential would isanely high
Tebogo is a _phenom_ .
With so many of these young phenoms falling by the wayside, Tebogo seems to have made the transition to the pro level. Good for him and the sport.
This might b a stretch but i honestly believe he can break the 400m WR IF he really trains to run the 400
It’s not a stretch he definitely can
More likely than breaking the 200wr imo
I feel like that isn’t a stretch. This kid is special. If he keeps improving like this… he’ll take the 200m WR too
I think it's just a matter of time if thats his focus
@@tychmcswain8643 Agreed. Bolt could have done it, but wasn't interested. However, this guy definitely has the potential. I mean Wade's WR is really out there, but it's the ease with which he runs, and his natural speed endurance which makes it seem within his reach. Under 43 would be the new 4-min-mile of the event.
A lot of people think he's showboating. But what they don't realize is Tebogo is just focusing his training on the lesser-known 90m and 390m dashes.
😂
Lol
As a former 400m runner, it's crazy to see how fresh he seemed after the race, not even showing any sort of exhaustion
Tebogo has leveled up, and will be difficult to beat in the 200m or the 400m.
Run through the line, young man!
As a Belgian, it reminds me of one of the Borlez brothers in London 2012, I believe... Either in the heats or semis, he let it go like 10-15m early... And clocked a low 44.3 That SHOULD have been the European Record, and possibly sub-44. Then, obviously in the next race he was exhausted, anyway, lol... SO frustrating.
Maybe he was also ran off gas
Victory for Tebogo and Botswana 🇧🇼! It always seems like he’s got more in the tank.
Tebogo reminds me Bolt in so many ways. Let's count them:
1) Insane times across all the sprint distances at relatively young age
2) Long, tall, lean sprinter with huge strides
3) A confident, perhaps a little arrogant swagger that that tells everyone he knows his class
4) Consistent progression from junior to senior ranks with world class times.
At maybe most importantly, nobody really knows his ceiling. He's so young and so fast it's very possible he will get Bolt's 200m WR. With Lyles, you kind have the impression that he's at or near his limit. Tebogo gives you the impression that he's not even close. His progression is exciting to watch.
The next 5 years of the sprints will be the Lyles/Tebogo show.
I'm a big fan of Tebogo for many yrs. He is probably the premier sprinter acoss all 3 distances in world . But remember, this is at altitude here in South Africa. Roy b , CapeTown south africa 🇿🇦
tebogo is not that tall compared to bolt😂 he is like 5,11
@@enPassantWarrior9047tebogo is 6 feet bout 184cm
@@enPassantWarrior9047 He is 6'0
Haha everytime you say Tebogo properly, my heart jumps. Then you say it wrong immediately after haha.
My reaction exactly 😂😂
They're trying their best but they're not saying it properly. The first O is pronounced like 'oo' as in 'taboo', the 'G' is pronounced like 'G' in Afrikaans or 'H' in Arabic.
He’s gotten more consistent with pronouncing it well. Big fan of this.
I believe he will break bolts world record in the 200m!
It's a long way from 19.50 to 19.19 😅😅
@@kemybolt he has improved a lot since his 19,50 obviously. 200 meter world record, he can break it
I think Noah Lyles will break Bolts record and then Tebogo will break Lyles
@@crabb9966 he has to run 19.18 which is 0.32 seconds faster than his PB. That's a huge gap. People tend to underestimate Bolt's Records unfortunately
Erriyon Knighton wants a word
When it comes to outstanding genetics for sprinting, Tebogo is unmatched rn. Nobody else covers ground, accelerates, holds their speed, and makes it look easy as well as he does. It’s absurd
@Birdlegs I see nothing in your post that backs up your claim that Tebogo's genetics are unmatched. That is because you do not have any evidence of that. Wayde Von Niekerk is of mixed background as is Erriyon Knighton who, despite being a half year younger than Tebogo has beaten him every time. Like most blacks in the USA it is probable that Knighton has some European ancestry. This offers him what is called hybrid vigor which Tebogo lacks. The genetic advantage goes to Knighton.
@vernonfrance2974 Most black people in america have a mixed background, as have most black people, as well as many white people here in South Africa. So you might have a point there. Also, do remember that Tebogo, whom I consider to be the premier sprinter in world today, is running here at altitude. Roy b, CapeTown south africa 🇿🇦
@@vernonfrance2974 bro what are you yapping about
@@Birdlegs14I did think you meant 'genetic' not 'racial' so I'm confused why @vernonfrance2974 interjected the way he did. I mean it's written for all to see. Maybe you (also) meant anatomy or body mechanics or something....
@@noname123456he did mean anatomy and body mechanics as a result of genetics
I've seen a 33 second 300m with my own eyes and that looked like lightning. This guy would whoopass against that time and beat that guy by 30 meters. And his technique is exactly the same as Ben Johnson's.
K.warholm. 3ooH WR
you mean Michael Johnson's
Tebogo is that one guy I can't predict. I just gotta wait and see. All I know is, he's gonna go ham. Let's go - Tebogo!
This guy just dropped 44.29 jogging before the finish line as usual remember he did the same thing with the 300m jogging before the finish line ( with a time of 31,54) then we saw what happened when he didn't jog it 🤔👀👀
HIS THE FUTURE!!!!!!!1!
Imminent legend incoming...
I hope he don’t peak too early being this is a Olympic year.
He hasn't had issues with peaking the past two years, so I don't expect that to happen now.
I think you don't know him, just keep quiet 🇧🇼
3 Olympic Medals are on the cards for Tebogo in the 100/200/4x4 if Botswana who reached the WC 4x4 Final last yr in Budapest get to the Final in Paris & have Tebogo anchor the team! Defo looks like Kenny B (9.89/19.68/44.73) is going to miss out on being the next sub 10/20/44s combo sprinter having only run the 400m once since 2019 & with Tebogo in this crazy shape!
I absolutely love how he is juggling amongst the short and the long sprinting events!
This dude ran
a world-leading 400m
a world-record 300m
an area record 200m (19.50s ain't too shabby)
and a PB of 9.88s in 100m
This is a Michael Johnson regen.
Tebogo carries himself like someone who knows he can be the best. I Was impressed last year.
This young man is going to be the one to beat in any event he's in.
Tebogo will break the 200m world record this year, no one can challenge this boy right now.
I respect much that kid!! Great job boy,you will have a wonderful career in the future,do not stop. I respect him and all the runners. Greetings from a Mexican friend, and be safe you all. 🙋🏾♂️🇲🇽
Tbh I expected sub 44 after that 300m WR...like 43.85 ...but I get it it is march outdoor just started...but if he had better competition he would have probably ran sub 44
Looks as though he was on for a sub 44 clocking had he not purposefully slowed down towards end.
@@Ryanrobert291he’s saving that energy
@@ericwong3868 and so he should, he's going to shock the world in paris.
March is towards the end of summer here in Southern hemisphere. So he has had some outdoor runs. Our outdoor season started about 5 months ago. Tebogo is great, world's premier all round sprinter. But remember, this is also in Joburg, SA, at altitude. Roy b, CapeTown south africa 🇿🇦
Need to take into account that his 2 races so far this yr have been in Pretoria, SA which is roughly 1340m above sea level making his 30.69 & 44.29 PBs when adjusted for altitude closer to 31.00 & 44.60 at sea level which are still impressive times given his age but should allow for more measured analysis.
I love how he doesn’t waste energy in his arm swing, it’s so tight and controlled.
Tebogo has the skillset to become the most complete sprinter of all time.
Letsile is not even sweating 🥵 it my boy so smooth with it.,mosimane o ke sebatana like Vs said *Le Icheke* 🇧🇼🇧🇼🇧🇼🇧🇼💯🔥🫡🇧🇼🇧🇼🇧🇼🇧🇼
I think he legit has a chance to beat Noah in each event.

Tebogo baby😤💪not playin around
This man literally floats on the track
I hope he make massive improvents in the 100m as well he has been on the 200-400m massive improvents now
I come from Botswana and I am so happy we have a legend like him representing the country🇧🇼🇧🇼🇧🇼🇧🇼🇧🇼🇧🇼
He basically challenged Noah Lyles during the world final when he got that silver. This kid is unbelievable. 🎉
LET SET GO 🌀 thats is name this man is a hurricane !
I just ran a 5k and a 70 year old women beat me. This has nothing to do with the video but it is funny and true
😂. I once ran a 5k and was beaten by 4 children under 10 years old. At least you know who your big rival is next time 😅.
I have back trouble, cannot run. Only do brisk walking. Roy b Cape town, south africa 🇿🇦
Tebigo is great, I picked him a couple yrs ago on these internet sites as the next " big one ". He is one of my biggest sprint heroes. I'm South African, and know what it's like to sprint here. So, just remember, he is sprinting here at altitude. You can fly on some of these tracks here at altitude. Roy b, CapeTown south africa 🇿🇦
🙏🇧🇼
I consider Letsile Tebogo to be the upcoming world record holder over at least 200 m. The sprint finals at the olympics in Paris will be exciting.
This situation reminds me of 2007 when Usain bolt was training for the 400meters but somehow broke the 100meter record. Tabogo seems to be doing the exact same thing but in reverse.
what a unique talent, being that good from 100 to 400 at the age of 20. wow.
Paris gold 100, 200, 400. Heard it here first.
Some 200m and 400m races are on same day so impossible.

Tebogo (20) is the only person alive I feel can beat one of bolts records (100m,200m)
Errion Knighton has something to say.... He already chased down Noah last year...easy work
The moment he learns to run through the finish line, it's over.
He only does when he has serious competition
Tebogo🔥🔥
The future is bright for this young Star
I believe if tebogo had competition in that race he would have gone faster than 44.29 believe me. 😁🥇💯💯💯👍
It might sound audacious, but I firmly believe that Tebogo has the potential to break the 43-second barrier in the 400m. Considering his astounding 300m world record time of 30.69 seconds, he maintained an average speed of 9.775 m/s. While it's prudent to be conservative with estimations, projecting a time of 42.99 seconds seems reasonable. Tebogo would only need to surpass Wayde van Niekerk's average speed by 0.008 m/s, who set the current 400m world record of 43.03 seconds. However, it's worth noting that the final 100m stretch in the 400m race poses the greatest challenge. Had it not been for his unfortunate ACL injury in 2017, Wayde van Niekerk might have already breached the 43-second mark. Nonetheless, we anticipate an exhilarating future for the 400m event.
Any idea what Wayde v niekerk is planning this yr ? I'm south african, but have heard nothing since he relocated to america. Roy b, CapeTown south africa 🇿🇦
I dont people understand how insane that was wow. Tebogo might be the Phelps of this current sprinting generation!
I'm so excited for this season. Lyles always closes like a train in the 200m. Its scary to think what is possible now he has developed blistering 60m speed. I wonder if Lyles and Tebogo can push each other close to Bolts WR?
This was in Johannesburg which is 5750 feet above sea level. So yes another high altitude performance for Tobogo like his 300m.
Pretoria.
Yep, you correct there. Tobogo is a great sprinter, maybe the premier all rounded spri ter in world , but this is in Joburg, where you can fly. If I remember, Michael Johnson ran a great 300 here, could have been a WR. would have loved seeing Usain Bolt on one of our tracks upcountry. ! Roy b, CapeTown south africa 🇿🇦

he has such a fluid style of running its a pleasure to watch, we need to see him in the 60m next lol its the only one he hasnt done afaik
Tebogo will likely medal in every event he competes! I’m wondering if Botswana can find 4 other decent sprinters to field a relay team!?
Byapo Ndori is not bad, with 2 more it would definitely be competitive
Ay man, he's in the best shape of his life. I can say that he's seeing at least 19.30 this season. Gonna be a great match up against Noah Lyles.😂
I’ll never understand how he does it. It literally looks like he’s jogging. 100, 200, 300, 400. Doesn’t matter, he’s just jogging😭
Finally everyone should understand that speed endurance training is basically useless! It's all about top speed and efficiency! Tebogo has both.
Tenogo had a great 2023 season. I think his main problem was that he ran out of steam as a consequence of his age and the number of high calibre races he ran. 2024 could see him realise his full potential, if he manages to stay fit and chooses his races carefully. Let's go Tebogo!!
Put him in the 4 hurdles 😂🎉
Tebogo has the strength, the skill and the speed. If he puts in the work, I think he would surprise everyone.
it would be lovely to see mr tobogo on the wing for wigan rugby WOW another OFFIAH
Knighton!
A 100m & 200m Gold is definitely in his grasp considering his development and fitness in 2024. the World Best 300m performance over MJ, Bolt and WVN all WR holders.
Not surprised my people are STARS ❤❤❤❤❤
The people were waiting on this one
Do I smell a WR?
I also smell it god will help him get it
Possibly on this track. . It is at altitude in Joburg. South africa. Roy b, CapeTown south africa 🇿🇦
Super talent and speed endurance. I'd like to see triple gold in the 100 through 400.
So my problem is when people like you say what someone's time would have placed them not considering what the rounds take out of athletes before they even make it to the finals. You're assuming that he would have run that time after running heats, semis, then finals. A lot of athletes would run faster times if they didn't have to run so many rounds. That's why most of the time we see faster times in the semis than we do the finals.
You re the only you tuber who pronounces Tebogo's name correctly well sometimes..
We rock ❤❤❤❤
Once, Tyson Gay the triple world champion of the previous year was completely smashed by Bolt's arousal.
The same thing may happen to Noah Lyles.
It won't. Noah has Tebogo on his radar
After this I kinda wanna see Bol and Tebogo both break the 400m WR at the Olympics in Paris this year in their respective races.
Sadly Bol won´t run 400 m....

I thought that "No Sprinter Has Ever Done This Before"? WTF?
I think they're going to have him run a 200 at the Botswana Grand Prix in April. My prediction is he opens up with a 19.8-9
Then they'll have him run the 4 x 400 at the World Relay Championships in May.
If he runs again he will go sub 44. Just a few days ago he was running 3 x 450s in training.
19.6 season opener..
@@k.o6157 that would be incredible. I'm just going based off his 20.00 opener in Miramar last year. He ran a 20.3 opening 200 during his 300m WR record. My estimate is he had a 0.4-0.5 reserve. So I estimate 19.8-19.9 for his season opener.
Tebogo is something very, very special. Noah Lyles be aware, be very aware.
Yeah, I've made my mind up. You are looking at the man to beat for that 200m gold. He is my ealy 200m Gold Medallist.
I can see him winning gold in all three events, 100, 200, and 400, but probably not in one meet. Which would put him as the one. This track season is looking to be quick, and not just for Tebogo.
This is insane
Let's just hope he's clean! I hate that I even think this way now.
I feel like my heart would jump out of my chest if I had to smoothly run a low 44 second 400 lol

LT can challenge the 200m and 400m WRs.
dont foget this, The sub 43 is on its way, thx Tebz
Some interesting choices for Tebogo for Paris - it will not be practical to compete in 100, 200, 400 and both relays. He will do 2 of the 3 possible individual events but which 2?
100m he will clearly be a medal contender, but there will be a lot of runners capable of clocking 9.8-9.9. Unless he can show sub 9.8 form consistently he might not even medal.
200m he will get silver, maybe bronze depending on Knighton. 2024 is the season Lyles goes below 19.3 (WR is at risk), and Lyles being Mr Consistent will run sub 19.5 several times this season. Tebogo may break 19.4 but I do not think he can break 19.3 this season.
400m this is a real wild card. It is obvious he is capable of breaking 44 secs - that makes him a medal contender, I think 44.5-44.75 is probably the best he can achieve this season but that could be a gold medal and long term his potential at this event must be a sub 43 WR.
I would have him do the 200m/400m double at Paris.
I won't comment on LT beating Lyles or placement in the 100m or 200m but you do realize that a 200m/400m double is the hardest thing to do at a major championship unless they adjust the schedule as they did for MJ, right?
@@Jarro21 I agree, but it is also LTs best chance of medals...unless of course he shows up running sub-9.8 in the 100m in June then the standard 100/200m double should be his aim. I trust him and his team to make the right choices, they have been pretty good so far!

LT's time has come. When he beat Nkrume at world juniors two years ago I knew he would be a beast. Whoever has achieved their goals in his events as yet, I'm sorry for them because he's no longer coming. He has arrived.
With these times so early in the season i only see two possible chances for Tebogo´s summer; one, he will be burnt or two, we will see Boltesque performances...
44.29 should put him in the top 10 in the Americas this year
