Got mine at release and still going strong at 200k. Just had the interior reupholstered and it’s as good as new. Fantastic car.
Very reliable, the Escape was a very solid little SUV until 2013 when it became a piece of junk.
Yeah. Those 1.6 and 2.0 Ecoboost turbos … good for 60k miles then you’re on your own
@@theowl2044ridiculous I prefer the box shape like this the older ones are junk
I'm looking at a 10 with the v6
i have 2010 hybrid one , i live in Middle East and its work very good with our hot weather , the battery still working with no problems
Absolutely loved my 2011. It was reliable, never broke, it could go off road surprisingly well, it was comfortable to drive cross country, Absolutely sure footed and secure in the worst of winter driving. Best car I ever owned.
What happened To it
My 2010, I never realized how hard it was to find cars that had a flat-folding rear cargo space. Best thing about it.
Big facts
One of my most favorite vehicle I’ve ever owned, which has been many. And extremely reliable I had a 2011 escape for about six years. With MS sync and a six cylinder. It was much better than any new car I can assure you. Unfortunately, a giant water truck backed into me at a stoplight. Now I’m still looking for another. The V-6 really put down the power. It was hard to believe. Really nice to see the four-cylinder has that much power I wasn’t expecting that.
I recommend you get a 2010-12 Escape Limited with Navigation. You'll have the most fun.
I'm dreaming of one for the last 7 years. And if you want something a little bigger, get a 2010 Explorer. Not as large as the newer Explorers. Or check out the 2010 Sport Trac. I myself am dreaming of a 2010 Adrenalin with V8 and navigation package and all bells and whistles. In lightning blue. 💙😎
My dad has a 2010 escape and he loves it! Thinking of getting one myself. It looks reliable
I always see these cars on the road beat up and still drive, I work at a shop and I always see them in the roughest shape possible while still running good. Escapes are reliable af, to me they look like they're meant for light offroading actually, in competition with the RAV4
This biggest issue with the escape is how cheap everything feels interior wise. Pretty plain Jain suv lol so I tried spicing things up lol 🌶. I agree it also looks like the escape has more clearance on the bottom for off-road than other suv.
@@povnelson2019 I would be complaining about the interior quality over the engine quality to be honest, I walk around dealership lot cars over at carmax and used to see these quite often and you start to feel how cheap the plastic is the higher mileage they get.
I read and see sooo many issues with all escapes and yet they are always on the road. Owners love them yet statistically they are reported to have soooo many issues.
up to 2013 these things were indestructable
The AWD is quiet capable in snow and offroad.
Original owner, 190k miles and no major problems. Very reliable, only had my air conditioner serviced once and my transmission fluids changed.
I have a 2010 XLT 2.5 FWD with 185k miles. VERY RELIABLE
Common problems are rust, the fan speed only works on one setting (blower motor resistor) this was very cheap to fix like less than $100 & the ignition module. I drive doordash full time and the ignition module started messing up at 180,000 miles. I bought the vehicle at 130k in February 2021. Other than tires, brakes and fluid changes it’s been reliable. I replaced my front wheel bearings too but I drive the hell out of my car lol
Hello how much do you spend on gaz doing doordash? I'm about to buy the same car for my food delivery job. The main reason why Im.buying it is because it's 4 cylinders.
@@jameshendrickson9438 sorry for replying late. I doordash 10-12 hours a day including personal errands. I average 20-30 a day. One day i filled my tank and got 410 miles until E but that only happened once. Best of luck my guy
I have an '07 explorer XLT
Hey man, got one for sale near me and I’m looking for a work car I can put miles on, this one’s already at about 170,000 and was curious how well yours handles highway driving?
@@yaboi5470 Mine is great on the highway. I’m at 227k miles now and I average 24 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. No major repairs or dashboard lights. I have no complaints honestly
*Awesome video dude. That car is in great shape 👍*
Thank my bro 🙏
I have a 2010 escape, I love it. I read where 2010 escape has a lot 0f mechanical problems, but mine is very dependable. I keep oil and trans fluid changes on time and no problems.
They only have a lot of problem if their owners never took well care of them. Like all cars.
Haha love when you do the 0-60 in the cars you drive. This Ford looks very well maintained and taken care of 👍
Thanks my man I had lots of fun making it. It’s like a reaction video lol thank you for watching and for the feedback 🙏
@@povnelson2019 Really enjoy your style of videos man. You make it fun and entertaining to watch ordinary cars 🤙
I really appreciate you saying that. That’s what I do 😂 I just bought a new suction GoPro mount lol did a lot of research 20$ at Best Buy. Trying to up my game hahaha
@@povnelson2019 that's what's up bro! You gotta stay trying to get better. I'm learning how to edit videos a little more on premiere pro. This new year I want to get better and more comfortable showing my face in videos.
Yeah I know exactly what you mean lol I’m ugly af lol so I’m just going to be doing ugly face reaction videos and will see what happens lol 😂 but you’re video are really good I’m surprised you haven’t hit 1k subs yet..?
Idk, this model or the 2011 one is gonna be my first car. The interior to me does not look bad at all. I don't like the modernized looks to new cars interior's because it's too flashy. I prefer the simple, nostalgic look. My dad used to drive a 2008 f150 so the interior looks good to me.
They’re very reliable. Cheap to maintain as well. The 3.0 V6, 2.5 I4 or the hybrid will last a long time even with some sketchy maintenance
@@jeremiah4677 yeah I got the 2010 xlt and so far it runs smoothly. No problems at all
I just bought my 2012 Ford Escape XLT yesterday same color and same everything except my is 2012. The best thing is the everything is higher up..
I love the gauge and interior illumination. It's called ice blue.
Yeah there is a lot to love with the Ford Escape.
Thanks for watching 🙏
I often watch 2nd gen Escape and 2008-2010 Adrenalin videos.
Am not crazy about the four cylinder but it still looks fun in this video.
I know the manual ones only have the four banger and 2WD. But I wish it was at least RWD.
My 2009 still goes pretty strong, probably one of the last good Fords
i just bought a 2011 ford escape with 40,000 original miles for 5k. i owned a subaru and ran her to 207k miles. i was nervous to switch to ford but, i really like how she feels while driving and i personally love the interior
50% of all Escapes are lightly used by utility companies and city inspectors. Many times, only the driver's seat is used...
Yes exactly what I’ve been trying to tell ppl lol just you said it much better 👍
Why do city inspectors use them?🤔
@@GoaWay... bc there good cars lol
@@GoaWay... because the business side of Ford selling fleet vehicles is really practical for government work
What about the $3000 electric steering column replacement ford wouldn’t warranty on all defective Escapes? Anyone else have that problem?
yeah the 1st gen and the 2nd gen had different four cylinders the first was a 2.3 the 2nd was a 2.5 so slight difference
My cousin has a 2008, or 2009 Escape Hybrid in a lovely Ice Blue Metallic over Stone leather, she loves hers.
I like the 2nd gens a lot.
I'd like one of these as my first car.
Very good advice on using Motorcraft products when serving or repairing this vehicle. Don't be cheap, use Motorcraft Mercon LV in the transmission, not some universal fluid. Use Motorcraft spark plugs. You'll be glad you did.
LOVE IT! IN STEEL BLUE METALLIC TOO! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Also, the ford chime in that thing is my alarm to get up every morning! ❤️
No way you’re alarm that’s so annoying. Jk Lmfao. My alarm is coffee I won’t wake up with out it hahaha 🤣
Love my escape
How’re things going between you and your dad? Have you worked out a solution to the pay problem? I can’t imagine the price of gas right now in Cali
Everything is good we’re all here at the dealership working hard lol I don’t know what pay you’re talking about. And the gas is crazy I just pumped 4.60$ a gallon 😢
If you get a 4wd Escape they can off road very well and in the owners manual of the 1st gen it says about off roading
Very interesting video lol
Thank you so much 🙏
Just bought a 2012 LIMITED to replace my 2011 XLT...
Near identical in/out wiith the Steel Blue metallic and parchment cream leather seats.
234 k on the XLT and the trans. finally went out...at a Taco Bell drive thru.
😢
I had a 2002 escape XLT with 266,000 miles thing ran like a tank
I like it much better than a new one
Review. Don't you kinda feel happy driving the 2nd gen Escape?
Cool
I just bought a 2010 4wd V6 for $2k. The alternator needed replacement, and it will need rust repair on the tailgate. Otherwise it's a great car.
I have a 2010 3.0 v6 awd limited and I love it but sucks on gas gets 11-13 mpg.
That’s why I get the v4 instead of the v6 and I get 21-28 mpg
Yeah I had a 2002 AWD 4Cyl and loved it. I bet the v6 is fun
I have a 2012 v6 AWD and I do love the thing and it’s great in the snow but that gas mileage is my biggest complaint. I think I’m currently getting like 16 which is a record😂
Ahhh now I know the v6 eats gas.
How dude my 12 awd v6 with big tires gets 20
engines lights on fuel inlet, & tire pressure faulty (2010 2.5 Escape)
I think i may be the only person with a ford escape XTL with no sunroof or bluetooth lol
The faces 🤣🤣🤣👍🏼👍🏼😬😬
Reacting videos lol 😂
Genuine quesiton, how do you open the fuel filler on this car? Where is the lever on the inside of the vehicle?
just pull it open no button
Is this a good care for ride sharing jobs?
Yes this vehicle is know for taxi drivers and city job workers
How is it holding up?🤔
Well I believe we sold it to someone working in security maybe 3 Months ago. No complaints 👍😊
@@povnelson2019 ok. That's good to know since I am thinking about getting one. 😊
I can't believe how fast you drove this thing lol you never drive like that anymore hahaha
Engine ? 2.5?
yes 2.5L
I just bought a escape and after 1 month of driving its computer damaged and i spent 1300 dollars on it and now i am thinking to sell it
👌❤️
Thank you Ssss lol
The engines are noisy compared to rivals of that era.
They feel like 90s cars.
the “district of columbia” part is actual washington dc, that’s what it means lol
Thank you 🙏 and thank you for watching 👍
Shit I have one but a I like it it good I say thank you
Nice Car. How much dollars does a car like this go for?
We sold this for around 7k us.
3k to 10k depending on miles or shape
NEVER freewheel rev an engine in neutral...
I had it in park. But why not rev in neutral?
Why not?
Why is this ?
The in-line 4 is so bad on gas
V6 for suvs that’s my rules. That way you have the extra power just I case you gotta tow
On level ground, the I-4 gets about 1 mpg more than the V6 does with no grunt.
I have a 2008 with the Gen 1 engine (3.0 V6 - no VVt). I live in the mountains and I like the ability to tow when I need to.
I only use OD on the interstate and I keep it in the lower gears on all secondary roads. I get 20 mpg everywhere except the interstate, where I get 25 mpg with OD engaged. The engine is bulletproof. The square body is great for UTILITY - as in SUV - unlike the Gen 3 models.
Sounds very angry doing a 0 to 60
i love it sounds great to me lol
Today your going to figure out how reliable it is, what a joke ! No quality content ! Waste of time !
Got mine at release and still going strong at 200k. Just had the interior reupholstered and it’s as good as new. Fantastic car.
