My MK5 GLI with a ccta is stage 2 IE with a catless downpipe, gfb dv+ with rev D DV and an induct intake. No intercooler. I was at 93 went to 91 to try and save some money on fuel during winter. Honestly underwhelmed with IE and my car is not getting good mileage. Im averaging about 24 mpg on a good day some days ill get 21 or 20. I think the car is still slow it just sounds better, it does accelerate harder but I get a lot of wheel spin trying to accelerate from 30 mph in 2nd gear it will just slip and when im in 6th gear and try to accelerate it almost bogs like it makes a "thuuuuuuuuudddddddddeeee" noise which i think is because its trying to flow more air through the stock intercooler than it can handle. I would like to see a comparison of OTS tunes (apr ie uni etc) with the exact same hardware and see how the car behaves on street and what it does on the dyno. This was a great video btw!
Power makes no difference on new or old tensioner. I've made 450whp on the old faulty tensioner. If you have the old tensioner, change it it can fail literally any time and a lot of times on start up. It's junk, don't risk it.
Man... Now I was drive up and see what my stage 2 ie is putting down... Ive got both a unitronic and an IE stage 2 file and ie felt wayyy better for me.
I have a 2012 VW CC sport DSG so far all I have is an IE Stage1 tune and to me it feels like stock but there is a noticeable difference in the midrange!! I’m hoping to order a 3” downpipe soon and go stage 2 My question is/is APR better since everyone is saying it drops boost in the top end??
What winter blend are you using? Isn't the winter blend here just more ethanol? IF so that wouldn't that mean less knock and less power? I ask cause the 91 Shell V-Power here is said to have zero ethanol so I'm wondering what the difference in that would be...
There is no E even the slightest in our fuel here. I continue to test it despite the signs of "may contain up to 10% ethanol". Our winter fuel is generally known to be crappier, however I have no proof or know what's done over winter.
While they're trying to sell a product, the Amsoil site states there's an amount of butane added to winter blends to increase the vapor pressure, allowing the fuel to evaporate/vaporize more easily in colder climates.
What's the small high pitch squeal you can hear from the external shots after the stage 2 has been loaded? It seems to come in when you give it full pedal but doesn't last the entire rpm range? Heard it on a few mk5/mk6 when tuned?
It’s usually the diverter valve. The rev C without the piston basket will make this noise depending on the intake - open intakes make it more noticeable.

hey about a week ago i went ie stage 2 93 high torque and pop tune and tcu tune 3600 on my mk7 gti. included mods so far are dp, intake, inlet pipe, tmd. and i have a buddy drives a3 sline (very similar to mk7 gti) but stage 1 with ie same mods except no dp. anyways, we did some pulls and he was keeping up with me and i wasn’t pulling from him like i was expecting. idk if my expectations were just too high or if im not getting the full stage 2 power, but not sure what the reason for that would be. i noticed b4 you download the tune it says they “highly recommend an intercooler” can the tune recognize i dont have an aftermarket intercooler orrr?? but i have friends and heard from quite a lot of ppl that you only need a dp and intake for stage 2. any ideas?
The bulk of power comes from stage 1, the difference between stage 1 and 2 isn't going to car lengths. Also how stage 2 performs will depend on the additional mods you have. Meaning our highest stage 2 cars have had FMIC, exhaust, intake etc. The FMIC is a big adder as the GTI and 1.8T golf share the same IC, the Golf R stock IC is bigger, and is still too small when being pushed. Can it work sure, but after a couple of spirited runs on the highway you will quickly notice heat soak and a drop in power.
Hey there! Don’t know if you still respond to this video, but, i hope you do give just a suggestion. Please. I went IE stage 2 91 in my 2015 1.8t A3. - - DSG tune - Down pipe - Turbo Inlet pipe - Big intake hose (no intake, just drop in KN) SO, I Threw a turbo over spool code once I floored. . . Put me into kind of a limp and lost all sorts of power until I turn it off. Suggestions as to how the overspool happened/how to fix?
When I compared various “stage 2” flash brands, IE seems to drop boost very quickly. This types of software have the most power feel around daily driving rpm conditions; where at higher rpms is very disappointing (an area where other better tunes via COBB AP are way better - i.e. EQT, and from a similar overall cost including the AP). See boost graphs from your logs
Too many factors to answer that. We discuss goals, long and short term and go from there with each client. This way we have them covered for future plans if needed.
I had a MK6 R UM 2+. Was told the same thing that the runner flappers could be an issue in the long run. Might this be why people do flapper deletes? Also my k04 would do this similar fall off of boost. I'd go from 29psi at peak to about 19-21 by about 6800 Really shouldn't have ever sold that car lol
No, the runner flap delete removes the pieces in the intake ports. The runner flaps are still in the intake manifold. To really get rid of it all is by replacing the intake manifold. However they were more restrictive in the FSI compared to the TSI. Not much power to be had doing a standard runner flap delete on a TSI.
my mk6 should of been making more horsepower with my stage 2 mods I had on. But the whine/whistle the mk6 makes at high boost is the diverter valve not sealing the boost fully, it’s cheap plastic should definitely upgrade to the after market metal. Holds more boost.

If it's not pulling timing on 91 it sure isn't going to on 93.
@@COMotorsports I meant trying the 93 tune, which will request more timing.
@@Zharsergey oh now I understand. 👍
Watch this video if you haven't it's exactly that.

I'm really interested to know whether this has the new timing chain tensioner or old one
Power makes no difference on new or old tensioner. I've made 450whp on the old faulty tensioner. If you have the old tensioner, change it it can fail literally any time and a lot of times on start up. It's junk, don't risk it.
Its your diverter valve they fail easily and that ringing noise is the boost leaking from it
Negative.

How much boost?
I have a 2012 VW CC sport DSG so far all I have is an IE Stage1 tune and to me it feels like stock but there is a noticeable difference in the midrange!! I’m hoping to order a 3” downpipe soon and go stage 2
My question is/is APR better since everyone is saying it drops boost in the top end??
Most of the decent companies are similar. I have done a back to back on the same car between IE and APR.
@@nates2243 it happens on my mk5 stage2 tuned with a revo intake and brand new revision g diverter valve, just wondering as doesn't seem effect performance, sounds quite cool tbh
Surge. Little compressor wheels being worked hard.

Super late but if I have a mk6 GTI that’s DSG… do I need the ecu and the tcu tune?
hey about a week ago i went ie stage 2 93 high torque and pop tune and tcu tune 3600 on my mk7 gti. included mods so far are dp, intake, inlet pipe, tmd. and i have a buddy drives a3 sline (very similar to mk7 gti) but stage 1 with ie same mods except no dp. anyways, we did some pulls and he was keeping up with me and i wasn’t pulling from him like i was expecting. idk if my expectations were just too high or if im not getting the full stage 2 power, but not sure what the reason for that would be. i noticed b4 you download the tune it says they “highly recommend an intercooler” can the tune recognize i dont have an aftermarket intercooler orrr?? but i have friends and heard from quite a lot of ppl that you only need a dp and intake for stage 2.
@@COMotorsports ok thank u for getting back. i’m most likely will buy ie’s intercooler
Is that the drum on the dyno squeaking or is that a boost leak? Almost sounds like a small boost leak
No leak. Just diverter valve doing it's thing.
How much total cost for the work done? I have a 2012 golf R stock - considering similar upgrades
Comes down to quality/brand of hardware, software used, and labor rate in your area.
I appreciate that can you ballpark it though with i.e. stuff
I’m looking to do a stage 2-2+ on my mk5. In your guys experience is the IE intercooler more efficient than the CTS intercooler?
Either will be more than enough for stage 2+.
Love the look of the 2 door mk6, i wish VW still made 2 door hatches for us
Yeah I'm with ya, hence why I sourced a 2 dr here to build a golf r as we didn't even get the 2dr mk6r here.
Were there any codes thrown for the down pipe?
A downpipe is required for this file, so no.
Hey there! Don’t know if you still respond to this video, but, i hope you do give just a suggestion. Please. I went IE stage 2 91 in my 2015 1.8t A3. -
- DSG tune
- Down pipe
- Turbo Inlet pipe
- Big intake hose (no intake, just drop in KN)
SO, I Threw a turbo over spool code once I floored. . . Put me into kind of a limp and lost all sorts of power until I turn it off. Suggestions as to how the overspool happened/how to fix?
All comes down to specific code. Research specific code.
what tune would you recomend for the 2018 mk7.5 golf r? IE,APR,Cobb, revo? im looking to put 500 whp. i have ie stage 2 software
Answers here ruclips.net/video/b9tihV3eu2Y/видео.html
When I compared various “stage 2” flash brands, IE seems to drop boost very quickly. This types of software have the most power feel around daily driving rpm conditions; where at higher rpms is very disappointing (an area where other better tunes via COBB AP are way better - i.e. EQT, and from a similar overall cost including the AP).
See boost graphs from your logs
From the off-shelf options, I prefer 034 (better performance/price)
@@soundsystem7 EQT does not offer software for this chassis through the AP.
If you buy an EI tune and want to upgrade, they only charge for upgrade. They do not make you pay full price for stage upgrades.....
Can u run Cobb accessport with ie stage 2
No
what logging software do you use when logging cars with name brand tunes?
Depends on the software. This one we just used IEs software.
You guys unbolt the subframe to remove transmission?
Heck no
How about upgrading to the KO4 turbo?
The client may do that in the future.
Based on your results what tune would you suggest? Im currently on APR stage 1
Too many factors to answer that. We discuss goals, long and short term and go from there with each client. This way we have them covered for future plans if needed.
@@COMotorsports Thats the response I wanna hear as a customer. Thank you
I had a MK6 R UM 2+. Was told the same thing that the runner flappers could be an issue in the long run. Might this be why people do flapper deletes?
Also my k04 would do this similar fall off of boost. I'd go from 29psi at peak to about 19-21 by about 6800
Really shouldn't have ever sold that car lol
No, the runner flap delete removes the pieces in the intake ports. The runner flaps are still in the intake manifold. To really get rid of it all is by replacing the intake manifold. However they were more restrictive in the FSI compared to the TSI. Not much power to be had doing a standard runner flap delete on a TSI.
Lol yours does the same annoying squeaky whine mine does with the IE intake, let me know if you figure out how to fix that.
It's normal on all them. Nothing to do with IE.
Check your DV
@@dumbeezy5480 it's fine
You cant ask IE to add a little timing should atleast see 1-5° timing pull
We did reach out to them intially but decided to fix the intake manifold issue first which helped.
I have a mk6 golf r fbo running IE Stage 2+ on 93 how much do you think I’m making to the wheels?
Dyno it and find out for reaaaalllzzz
my mk6 should of been making more horsepower with my stage 2 mods I had on. But the whine/whistle the mk6 makes at high boost is the diverter valve not sealing the boost fully, it’s cheap plastic should definitely upgrade to the after market metal. Holds more boost.
No, the newest revised dv is recommended... their are like 4 revisions
The 3-inch down pipe?
It's all IE offers. Which is the standard for this type of setup.
So witch mean if I get all the requirements for my IE stage 2 I won't get the power I need? I will loose power?
I don't understand what you're saying/asking.

@@chriiss6936 it's the nature of turbochargers. Small turbos like this spool fast but choke up up top. As revs increase and More air is ingested the small turbo can't keep up.
how much does something like this cost
All depends on where you are, what your import fees are, and what your labor rates are.
is all of your hp values in whp? for every car?
Yes whp.
How much would you guys expect a mkv 2.0 with Apr k04 to make on 93? With s3 injectors, hpfp internals, catted 3in dp and a solid tune? What do the mkvs with k04 normally max at?
Will depend on your tune. K04 has the ability to exceed the limits of the stock FSI rods.

@@KseriesKyle another thing is to put a low pressure fuel pump a lot of guys run RS4 or ttrs fuel pumps or you could go with a walbro...
