I absolutely love this anime, however one thing that just doesn't make sense here is they're saying Miaka couldn't hear Yui calling her because she changed her uniform. As I recall, when Miaka got back to her own world, she looked for Yui for a good hour or two before even going home to change. It was explained that even 2 hours in the real world was about a good week or two in the book. Yui was "raped" right about the moment she got into the book. The timing doesn't measure up at all. And why would it make it Miaka's fault for that happening to Yui? They didn't know that would happen, and Miaka was just trying to get back to their world. They didn't know they would switch places.
Yui wasn't raped tho. It was nakago who let yui think that she was totally raped but she isn't.. She's still a virgin that's why nakago is in charge of her. Bcoz she can still summon the seryiu.
I love how most people hate on Yui for her revenge quest, but forget that she's a 15 year old GIRL who probably suffered one of the most traumatic things that can happen to any person, thought her BEST FRIEND only came back for a boy and found out that the boy she likes LOVES her best friend. Like, if I was in her place I would make many irrational decisions too and I'm a grown woman.
and like I said. in this ep. if they keep watching the mirror. they would've found out sooner that Yui wasn't raped. than we would've got shorter eps in the anime. because she would only just be jealous. rather jealous and hateful. I admit I dislike her hateful acts when I was young. but when I got a bit older it was more understandable. she was groomed to hate her own friend and used for dark deeds and summoning the sea dragon. but I disliked Miaka even more for MAKING everything more dramatic in the story or just make things worse on everyone. yes I get she's a minor teen. but come on it's bad enough that we know she's dumb. but keeps risking the warriors lifes. making the mission harder AND longer to summon the fire bird. I could make a list of things she has done wrong. but that would take to long.
I'm feel sorry for the brother. he has to read about his sister and her love life. I also feel sorry for hotahori. but still I love the end ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥XD

This has always been the most conflicted I've felt for a love triangle. On one hand, Miaka so clearly is in love with Tamahome and only has baseline affection and appreciation for Hotohori, and Miaka and Tamahome are clearly meant for each other. But on the other hand, look at that man. Look at his face. How can you not root for Hotohori? He loves Miaka so deeply and earnestly, he's so sweet with her and so caring, you can't help but want him to end up with the one he loves... the only issue is that it's Miaka and Tamahome exists. Ugh, this anime. Some of it really hasn't aged the best, and the romance and plot beats progress a lot faster than I remember - perhaps a little too fast, and I have personal issue with the fates of some of these characters... But this anime is still one of the best both in romance and in comedy, imo. The writing of these characters is just so good

Totally agree! I watched it for the first time when I was like 12, and I loved every minute of it. Rewatching it now, it's soooo cheesy and I still can't stop watching - the best thing to do is not think about it, keep watching, let your brain and heart turn to mush, and just enjoy. Haha :D
