I can't believe I watched this anime again for 1 day. the first 52 episodes and 3 OVA's. haha.. time to sleep now :) after 8yrs, still the best I've seen
When I saw the book disappear I started bawling my eyes. I need more Fushigi Yuugi. Nothing else compares to this anime. Its romantic , shows what love and friendship can do , its supernatural , it has plot twists , there are cute guys and girls , there are people you hate (Maiyo) so it is realistic in a way and on top of that , its and romantic! Im a sucker for love ;-;
i dont want this story to end.. I love fushigi yuugi since I was elementary... And Up to now that I am married I am still fascinated to it.... I hope Ms.Yuu Watase will be able to write a continuation of the story...... ohhh please.. 😭😭😭
As a true Fushigi Yuugi fan I gave this Ova a chance because I wanted to see the Suzaku Seven in action again even if I knew this Ova wasn't part of the original story and I sure don't regret it but Mayo's characters is so fucken annoying. Everyone goes through difficult times during there teenage years but that doesn't give them the right to go making other people's lives miserable. & I was surprise some people felt bad for Mayo. I woulda to if she hadn't been sucha bitch to Miaka and hadn't done the things she did like example at the very end when she told Taka she loved him even after what she made Miaka & Taka go through, you seriously telling him that :/ Another thing that made me angry was Mayo's apologizing to the whole world except to the person she did the most harm to & even came to her aid ( Miaka ) not one sorry to her like bitch if it wasn't for Miaka you would've been a goner. & Even if she "changed at the end" I will never like her character, I only enjoyed this Ova because of Miaka and Taka's wedding & baby
The only reason most people feel bad for Mayo is because of how her parents were always arguing and got divorced. That kind of home life can be very stressful because I have no doubt that Mayo's parents both tried to pit her against the other and tried to bribe her into liking them over the other. So honestly the only happiness she has or had was her escape at school, which was the sport she played (basketball I think it was?) and who were her coaches? Tamahome/Taka and Keisuke, though I'm thinking Taka was her main coach. So, any act of kindness she receives outside her home that was most likely a warzone was probably a big relief, but at the same time, Taka being nice to her as her teacher/coach probably got mistaken for acts of love in her teenage mind. And we've all had crushes on a teacher at some point in our teen lives. Of course, in no way do I agree with all the shit Mayo has done, and nor do I hold Taka and Miaka responsible for her acting negatively to seeing them together or for how she reacts to being rejected by Taka romantically because she shouldn't be his responsibility. Should he have set things straight for Mayo about him being with Miaka and how he can't love mayo like he does Miaka? Yeah, but after that, Mayo's actions (like let's say she threatens to kill herself if Taka doesn't dump Miaka to be with her) wouldn't be on him. It would be on her parents for not paying more attention to their daughter's feelings. I think the point of Mayo was to point out these kinds of things. And if people want to pity Mayo then let them. It's also Okay to dislike Mayo too. Personally, I don't like her because of how manipulative she is but she's still a teen/child who is misguided and didn't know how to cope with her problems in the real world.

This anime will always stay in my heart. The story was absolutely gorgeous. My heart melted at the end. I know that it a happy and sad ending bc Taka/Tamahome and Miaka can finally live together (with their baby of course). The sad part of the ending is that the book disappears which means there's no way for them to go back in the book. For us that means this was the last episode of Fushigi Yuugi. I was in tears at the end bc of how beautiful the Ova's and the first 52 episodes of Fushigi Yuugi were. I am just very sad that most of the suzaku 7 had to die in the original story (When Miaka was priestess of Suzaku). Nuriko's death was very painful to watch. For some reason his death was the most saddest of the other deaths in the story. He was so funny and his personality was awesome. Hotohori, Chiriko and Mitzkake's deaths were also sad but not in the same way as Nuriko's.
Lady Houki is GORGEOUS and so regal, serene, and composed-a much fitter empress than boorish but pure-hearted Miaka could ever be. And to think that she came from even humbler roots than middle-school student Miaka. Hotohori did well in choosing his bride. :) Houki is a wise mother as well: firm and yet encouraging and not imposing. She lets her moral lessons sink into Boushin's imperial head and doesn't bash him over the head with it.
So this is the end? I can't imagine how much Tamahome/Taka and Miaka suffered for their love. The most wonderful thing is that despite all the odds, they still find each other in their arms. Love them. Gonna miss them.
I watched this anime when I was like 9 or 10 years old, and I didn't really understood the story plot because its kinda deep for a 9 year old kid but since the day I laid eyes on this anime, I cant seems to forget about it. I knew I would watch it again, and it was true. Its been 9 years since then, and I never really thought of this anime but suddenly I dont know how I started watching this anime again in 2016. I love Fushigi Yuugi even more. The best of all time, people might say that watching anime is childish but seriously Im inlove with it. Each and every character especially tamahome and miaka. I would still watch it after 10 years from now on. Fushigi Yugi will never grow old in my heart.

I really disliked this OVA. The first and second ones were alright, but this one left a bad taste in my mouth. Mayo was annoying as hell! I didn't care to watch anything about her, I wanted to see more Miaka and the Suzaku Seven :(. And everyone's like "Ooh Mayo good job! You are the priestess of Suzaku!" What? She did a terrible job. And she's not the priestess of Suzaku, Mika is! Blah :P
After 18 years since the day I laid my eyes on this story, I finally made it to the very end watching and experiencing alot of mixed emotion. The author really made a great story. I really like TAMAHOME and the other 6 celestial warriors of Suzaku. To the author, may another story be seen by us once more. And thank you for uploading this on RUclips. 😇

But the manga was completed in 1996 and so was the anime though :( This Ova was just an original story written by a fan of the creator of Fushigi Yuugi it was never intended to be a continuation remember the last episode of Fushigi Yuugi was the Ova 2 which was the last chapter of the Manga :) but let's hope in the future there's more because this world needs more Fushigi Yuugi Btw if you liked this you should consider watching Yona of the Dawn it has the same concept girl surrounded by 5 man who care for her and 2 of them love her
I loved this OVA purely because all the Suzaku Seven were reborn and can live again. I was crying so hard when Hotohori was reunited with his family!!!!
It has been so long since I first watched this anime and until now, rewatching it I feel overwhelmingly attached to it. I was 9 or 10 back then and for a kid, of course i do not understand a few thingsm but after a few years, i now understood it alot better. I love this series with all my heart. I dislike Mayo's attitude, but it doesnt mean I hate her. Because at somw point I understand her. Being in aplace where you only here screams and fightings is very much suffocating. Also, i think the reason why she still said I love you in the end was because she she is saying farewell to her feelings and that is her way of accepting it, by saying I live you with all her heart for the last time. Also i love the whole series even the OVA's. I understood it the first time i wached the ova becausw when i watched the anime back then, i didnt knew that there was an ova i watched it around 12 or 13 which why, i guess i do understand. I wasnt confused i keep on babbling what thr posibilities could be. And i too am not very much satisfied with the ending. I kept on asking, what happened to the other members of the suzaku 7? Did they grow old?did they remain in their reincarnated forms? Did they return to their past selves? what happened to the families of the reincarnated ones if they chose to return to their old selves? Who chose what? and who chosw who?? and ofcourse what happened to the book? Also i wished that they made a small chapter or an episode of all the 7 Suzaku warriors and miaka seing each other again in the other world outiside the book/other reality to have some chat or being happy to be able to see each other again. All smiles and so happy. I wish that they made a manga or amaybe some series for their children, even just a little. Like seing their faces and who they are too. I love this anime, the characters, the animations, the scenes, the plot twist, and the amazing lines. I love every each and one of them. From then until now. And i will come back again after a few years rewatching this all over again.

Who's here in 2018? I watched it first when I'm an elementary student and now I graduated and all and still it's my favorite anime. Though I kind of annoyed with so many love first before the main problem scene (lol). I really love this anime, it makes me cry and fall in love with each character over and over again. I also have come to realize who really is my favorite character here when he died, Nuriko, it just hurts me so bad to the point that even at work I can't stop thinking of how and why he died, then suddenly at the end chapter of season 1 he appeared out of seriousness in me and I literally screamed because of the shock and the unexpected appearance of those I love in the anime. Everything was amazing. I know, one day again, I will watch fushigi yuugi again with the same feelings I felt just like now. Anyways, it's my 3rd time watching it and this time I finally made it here in the OVA seasons. Can't wait to watch it again after several years. :)

11 years and i am still here stuck with the memories this anime has brought into my life. Love the story and everything. Really happy to see Nuriko again and with those lines of him saying " My dear " or my darling hahahaha
I think Yuu Watase needs to make remakes, With fresh animations, good voice actors of course to be honest I think it will sell all over again. She is well respected and she is known to be a best seller!
To anyone who's wondering how did the quality of story and characters dropped so bad is because Watase Yuu was not involved in this in ANY WAY. This was based on someone else's light novel of their work.... basically a fanfic. Now I'm off to forget this ever happened.

I started watching this anime when I was 11 years old. Now I am 18 and a half yrs old and since then till now I keep watching the whole anime again and again. My mother laughs at me every time and she says go and watch some new updated anime this one is too old. I just say: Maaaaa, you should watch this. It's so meaningful. Then she looks at me and says: Honey that's why your single. Then I am like: God pls send me someone like Tomohome.

I love the part when the Suzaku Warriors are back as one army and that is the last time I see them especially Nuriko, Chiriko, Mitsukake and Hotohori are back to life.
This anime has everything. It's so beautiful in every way. It has action, comedy, romance, adventure,friendship nice animation and a hella good plot. not too mention i think it's the only good anime that was fully dubbed and the dubbed IS SO GOOD compared to kodocha, full moon, new mew power where it wasn't finished dubbed but the English was really nice ): not to mention BEAUTIFUL MUSIC EVERYWHERE. Anime creators can follow this writers example :') I miss having to not know what comes after but bc I've watched it sm over and over I'm not in my feels as much ):

I kinda ship Keisuke and Mayo..Mayo wasn't ever a bitch..She was just a teenage girl who was in pain and wasn't sure what to do with it Tbh..I believe if they met earlier,Keisuke could've comforted her.

Although the story has a happy ending because of the extension of the plot by the grace of the brilliant authors, I still hate Mayo for being such a no good narcissistic brat!! and mostly A BIG BITCH!!! Thank God the book finally dissapear and Tamahome and Miaka are together and that's how it was meant to be anyway you know. But i really wish Hotohori and the other celestial warriors could tag along and live with them or alteast in the book with peace, love and no harm without aging, being immortal plus stopping the time for eternity!!

It is loosely based on four mythological creatures of China.... he said that this anime is his favorite story... I always remembers Taiitsukun saying, the principles of conflict: Know Yourself, Believe in Yourself and Overcome Yourself.. connects with Love Yourself... forgive yourself... even when the worlds falls apart, you should still connect with yourself... admit and accept your weakness... Love yourself so you can love others unconditionally. Mayo is a sample of one's reality and with the help of people who cared and loved her ... she became more wiser and appreciative in her life.

Lady Houki is GORGEOUS and so regal, serene, and composed-a much fitter empress than boorish but pure-hearted Miaka could ever be. And to think that she came from even humbler roots than middle-school student Miaka. Hotohori did well in choosing his bride. :) Houki is a wise mother as well: firm and yet encouraging and not imposing. She lets her moral lessons sink into Boushin's imperial head and doesn't bash him over the head with it.
So this is the end? I can't imagine how much Tamahome/Taka and Miaka suffered for their love. The most wonderful thing is that despite all the odds, they still find each other in their arms. Love them. Gonna miss them.
And sooo... Miaka married Taka/Tamahome twice! One time in each world.

I watched this anime when I was like 9 or 10 years old, and I didn't really understood the story plot because its kinda deep for a 9 year old kid but since the day I laid eyes on this anime, I cant seems to forget about it. I knew I would watch it again, and it was true. Its been 9 years since then, and I never really thought of this anime but suddenly I dont know how I started watching this anime again in 2016. I love Fushigi Yuugi even more. The best of all time, people might say that watching anime is childish but seriously Im inlove with it. Each and every character especially tamahome and miaka. I would still watch it after 10 years from now on. Fushigi Yugi will never grow old in my heart.
I have watched this anime series like about 15 - 16 years ago but still I have not got enough of it. The most entertaining and interesting anime series ever. Everytime I watch this it gives me goosebumps...love it!!
I really disliked this OVA. The first and second ones were alright, but this one left a bad taste in my mouth. Mayo was annoying as hell! I didn't care to watch anything about her, I wanted to see more Miaka and the Suzaku Seven :(. And everyone's like "Ooh Mayo good job! You are the priestess of Suzaku!" What? She did a terrible job. And she's not the priestess of Suzaku, Mika is! Blah :P
I dislike Mayo .-. I was raging when she was in Taka's arms. I wanted Miaka and Taka to be together but this ova pissed me off sooo much.

After 18 years since the day I laid my eyes on this story, I finally made it to the very end watching and experiencing alot of mixed emotion. The author really made a great story. I really like TAMAHOME and the other 6 celestial warriors of Suzaku. To the author, may another story be seen by us once more.

But the manga was completed in 1996 and so was the anime though :( This Ova was just an original story written by a fan of the creator of Fushigi Yuugi it was never intended to be a continuation remember the last episode of Fushigi Yuugi was the Ova 2 which was the last chapter of the Manga :) but let's hope in the future there's more because this world needs more Fushigi Yuugi

I loved this OVA purely because all the Suzaku Seven were reborn and can live again. I was crying so hard when Hotohori was reunited with his family!!!!
It has been so long since I first watched this anime and until now, rewatching it I feel overwhelmingly attached to it. I was 9 or 10 back then and for a kid, of course i do not understand a few thingsm but after a few years, i now understood it alot better. I love this series with all my heart.
I dislike Mayo's attitude, but it doesnt mean I hate her. Because at somw point I understand her. Being in aplace where you only here screams and fightings is very much suffocating. Also, i think the reason why she still said I love you in the end was because she she is saying farewell to her feelings and that is her way of accepting it, by saying I live you with all her heart for the last time.
Also i love the whole series even the OVA's. I understood it the first time i wached the ova becausw when i watched the anime back then, i didnt knew that there was an ova i watched it around 12 or 13 which why, i guess i do understand. I wasnt confused i keep on babbling what thr posibilities could be. And i too am not very much satisfied with the ending.
I kept on asking, what happened to the other members of the suzaku 7? Did they grow old?did they remain in their reincarnated forms? Did they return to their past selves? what happened to the families of the reincarnated ones if they chose to return to their old selves? Who chose what? and who chosw who?? and ofcourse what happened to the book?
Also i wished that they made a small chapter or an episode of all the 7 Suzaku warriors and miaka seing each other again in the other world outiside the book/other reality to have some chat or being happy to be able to see each other again. All smiles and so happy.
I wish that they made a manga or amaybe some series for their children, even just a little. Like seing their faces and who they are too.
I love this anime, the characters, the animations, the scenes, the plot twist, and the amazing lines. I love every each and one of them. From then until now.
And i will come back again after a few years rewatching this all over again.

Who's here in 2018? I watched it first when I'm an elementary student and now I graduated and all and still it's my favorite anime. Though I kind of annoyed with so many love first before the main problem scene (lol). I really love this anime, it makes me cry and fall in love with each character over and over again. I also have come to realize who really is my favorite character here when he died, Nuriko, it just hurts me so bad to the point that even at work I can't stop thinking of how and why he died, then suddenly at the end chapter of season 1 he appeared out of seriousness in me and I literally screamed because of the shock and the unexpected appearance of those I love in the anime. Everything was amazing. I know, one day again, I will watch fushigi yuugi again with the same feelings I felt just like now. Anyways, it's my 3rd time watching it and this time I finally made it here in the OVA seasons. Can't wait to watch it again after several years. :)

I think Yuu Watase needs to make remakes, With fresh animations, good voice actors of course to be honest I think it will sell all over again. She is well respected and she is known to be a best seller!
To anyone who's wondering how did the quality of story and characters dropped so bad is because Watase Yuu was not involved in this in ANY WAY. This was based on someone else's light novel of their work.... basically a fanfic. Now I'm off to forget this ever happened.

This anime has everything. It's so beautiful in every way. It has action, comedy, romance, adventure,friendship nice animation and a hella good plot. not too mention i think it's the only good anime that was fully dubbed and the dubbed IS SO GOOD compared to kodocha, full moon, new mew power where it wasn't finished dubbed but the English was really nice ): not to mention BEAUTIFUL MUSIC EVERYWHERE. Anime creators can follow this writers example :') I miss having to not know what comes after but bc I've watched it sm over and over I'm not in my feels as much ):

Although the story has a happy ending because of the extension of the plot by the grace of the brilliant authors, I still hate Mayo for being such a no good narcissistic brat!! and mostly A BIG BITCH!!! Thank God the book finally dissapear and Tamahome and Miaka are together and that's how it was meant to be anyway you know. But i really wish Hotohori and the other celestial warriors could tag along and live with them or alteast in the book with peace, love and no harm without aging, being immortal plus stopping the time for eternity!!

It is loosely based on four mythological creatures of China.... he said that this anime is his favorite story... And now i already watched fushigi yuugi ... and i can say that .. this movie is really amazing.. around of applause to the author of this book .. :) :)
