I cant believe im watching this again after 7 years. I remembered it out of nowhere and knew i had to rewatch it. I haven't really watched any anime since i was 13.
I loved this series so much. I wish it didn't have to end.
Warning: Spoiler Alert
The real truth is Shuurei finally married Ryuuki at the age of 30 but she ended up dying when she gave birth to their daughter Shi Chouka near the end of winter on the 20th of December.
However, after Shuurei died at childbirth. Ryuuki was left emotionally broken and lonely for the rest of his life. Also, Ryuuki never remarried or took any concubines because his daughter by Shuurei will eventually succeed as the future ruler of Saiunkoku.
After finishing whole season 1 I still can't handle Seiran's handsomeness 😣

I think it is stupid to say that this anime is very japanese and its about feudal Japan when it is about ancient China and it is very influenced with chinese costume period dramas with more romance politics and some swordfights with very little homage to that of a chinese fantasy film more like period dramas of china
