Well, it was somehow portayed that Yui's "bitchy" behavior derived from her jealousy that her best friend was being taken away from her. The whole notion that she was in-love with Tamahome was not her own true feelings but was simply affected by Miaka, since they were both connected by their school uniform at the time. Before Yui could come out of her senses early on, she was already deep in hatred for Miaka that she was easily manipulated by Nakago.
Yui did love tamahome. It’s love at first sight, a handsome cool superhero saving her life. But without quality time spent together like Miaka and him, yui’s love is more puppy love towards idols. But misunderstanding led her wanting to compete for her love.
I remember there was a comicon where midorikawa hikaru (tamahome/ taka) mentioned working on this ova, the audience went wild especially when he mentioned tamahome marrying miaka
omg watching this the 2seond time i realize the guy who does taka voice here in this ova is the guy who plays kakashi from naruto... mmm i like both ppl :)
Mayo had the book 3 years ago but she didn't read it because she thought it was a boring book but it appeared again. She also heard Taka and Miaka talking about the book and their journey on that so she took the book. When Mayo went to the book world, Keisuke's depressed because if Mayo didn't summon suzaku, Miyaka will never wake up and Taka and the book world will disappear too. Keisuke also had a crush with Mayo that's why he beg Taka to save his sister and Mayo, and their baby also ^^

Taka is so much diff. To the real tamahome so annoying they change the character of tamahome in to taka if u analize it miaka is inlove to taka now not to tamahome

You won't find much romance as deep and beautiful as in Fushigi yuugi in other manga or anime. Kissing scenes are also very rare in anime.
