Additionally, the manga features graphic sex and violence scenes so they have to be removed and there is a male character who also acts female and he loves both men and women, so he would likely be changed into a girl for the drama.
Yep. Same, in my 30s. It was one of the first animes I ever saw. With my friends who introduced me to anime. My first anime ever was Inuyasha. (No, not Pokémon or anything else, but Inuyasha!). It was an amazing start. Because I knew nothing about eastern folklore and it was like being literally transported to another world.
I was like that when Kaji was killed in Evangelion. That fucked me UP. I stopped watching the show entirely because I was so stressed over it. Lol It was such a big thing for me that years later when I attended my 1st convention my mom and I saw a Kaji cosplayer and after complimenting him my mom informed him how badly I mourned "his" death. I was so embarrassed lmfaooo I was really pissed when I found out Hotohori and Nuriko died. I wasn't far into the series and they were my top favorites.. 😭
OMG that nostalgia tsunami hit me like a ton of bricks. Gosh I never really finished this series but I loved the hell out of it. As soon as I heard that ending theme I got shivers remembering how much I loved that song and the beautiful watercolor art of Yuu Watase! She was my art inspiration for years!
I remember i get sad everytime i hear the ending song cuz then i have to wait for another day for the next episode.. Then after the long agonizing wait, when i hear the opening song the next day i felt all the excitement and goosebumps there is 😆

I'd love an anime adaptation too. I just love the story, tho it's tragic right from the start. it's a good mix of shoujo and shonen so I believe everyone will like it (unless of course, they change the characters' personalities)
