About ColourCloud Palace (The Story of Saiunkoku):
Shuurei Kou, the daughter of a noble yet impoverished family, is a clever young lady who dreams of becoming a government official and contributing toward her country. However, her dream is out of her reach as such a position is forbidden to women. Then, one day, an unexpected visit changes her life. Shuurei is called to assist Ryuuki Shi, the new emperor who is known for slacking on his duties and preferring the company of men. This makes me miss Shuurei and Ryuuki. This was the anime that I watched on Animax back in college--I still remember the lyrics to both the OP and the ED. I wish they had actually animated the whole light novel. This was, and still is, so good.
If they animated the light novel, for sure it will make me cry for weeks if the ending of Shuurei will not change. I also feel like it will gonna be 3rd season/last season since the novel also focus on her daughter Chouka which can be a sequel like what they do to Inuyasha.
@@cherisumee9831 A year or so ago, I found out that the series was based on the light novels. Was shocked but excited to find out there was more, but when I learned of Shuurei's fate, I was absolutely devastated. And what that did to Ryuuki. Oh, Lord, the pain. I really would still want to see it all animated though. The love story aside, Saiunkoku is especially good with executing court and polite intrigue, not to mention the supernatural and the clans. I hope it get picked up again, and they stay faithful to the source material. I'd definitely like to see what how Chouka is like and how Ryuuki deals with having a daughter that looks exactly like his one true love (that said, what a homage to Shouka, the way her name sounds). Here's to wishing that it happens!

The real truth is Shuurei finally married Ryuuki at the age of 30 but she ended up dying when she gave birth to their daughter Shi Chouka near the end of winter on the 20th of December.
However, after Shuurei died at childbirth. Ryuuki was left emotionally broken and lonely for the rest of his life. Also, Ryuuki never remarried or took any concubines because his daughter by Shuurei will eventually succeed as the future ruler of Saiunkoku

@@raizel1992 the story is actually pretty sweet. Especially when we get to meet Sa Sakujun 😏👉👈 trust me noone even knows the ending since they didn't animate that part but the rest of the story is worth watching

The girl sounds like she's voiced by the same lady that voices Sango from the Inuyasha/Yashahime series.
Edit: After looking it up, the same lady does voice both characters😊
same voice actress for Barbie as well xD At least the first barbie movies that I can think of.
The weird thing is that it's the same for the Japanese cast! Kuwashima Houko voices Sango in Inuyasha and Shuurei in this.
She also voiced Nana Komatsu in the english dub of Nana

I loved this anime but suddenly dropped it because I'm scared who she choose in the end. Lol. So who did she end up with? Is it the king or his brother? Please let it be the king. Lol. But anyways. Who? 😂

She ended up with ryuuki, they got married when shurei turn 30 something, and have one daughter, but just few years later shurei died bcd someone shoot an arrow at her 😢
i honestly thought ryuuki was too scared to have children lol.
She ultimately marries yuki in her 30s and they had one kid before she died. Their daughter becomes ruling empresss whenr ryuuki dies

After 10+ years of being official, and 10 years persuading prosopal by Ryuuki. Shuurei finally choose to leave official and marry Ryuuki, but sadly they only married for a year, have a daughter and Shuurei died at her 30 because of childbirth. I believe arrow thing is happened during Kou Ki fall, and make her life span lessen.
If you really want to watch , watch s1. Then drop. Believe me after s1 , it will be pretty clear that she is not the lovey dovey type. So you will be itching to know who she will choose. Then you will find this line on the internet "she dies of child birth at the age of 30".(she marries Ryuuki).Then you will think , that's sad, but atleast they spend more than 10 years married?. Right!!. No She didn't accept anyone's proposal for more than 10 years, then when she knew that she was at the end of her life. She agrees to marry to poor guy. Then the next year dies. Like wtf . From the girls point of view. She achieved what she dreamt of. Even though life was short. She became super famous. Then also marries the guy who had been chasing after for a decade.
From the guys point of view. Life is miserable boss. What kind of guy chases after a girl for 13 years. If she was not near death, she wouldn't have accepted him probably. Don't you have any pride. The girl was like " i am famous, i achieved my dreams, i don't have much time left, so lets enjoy". Like wtf... I have know she would accept the at the age of 29 after starting at the age of 16, i would have never watched the show
