I am not sure how it is complicated.. You plug it in.. download a config and go.. However some people want to customize things and add controls and functions beyond just the CDU since it's a Fully controllable display.. I have no idea what the numbers are on user counts but since there is a discount for SPAD users to buy (20% off get a coupon in the Discord) or if you Bought from CS directly then they have on their website a link to get a 25% off discount on SPAD ... It's the only CDU that does NOT use a screen pop out so there is a pretty big benefit over the other offerings. Also the build quality is excellent. This is not a 3D printed device..
HI Les, I went through all the steps here and I get the buttons working on the cockpitmaster cdu but no display. Any ideas why that might be so and what to do about it?
Works for me. Make sure you installed the mod. Make sure you set the ports correctly and make sure you are not running the tablet web server from the MOD otherwise it will block spad talking to the port.
@@LesOReilly Hi I put the z-demented-monkey folder in the community folder (correct level); did not run the MCDU server programme, and have the WT CJ4 mod in my community folder (as without it the avionics dont fire up at all in the aircraft). When I select your profile for CJ4 CM CDU, the keys on the CDU work, but there is no display. The port settings are as per your video (FBW websocket, simbridge running, 8088). Any thoughts?
There should be NOT WT CJ4 MOD at all anymore... That was eliminated well over a year ago when AAU1 in January 2023 came out and the WT CJ4 became the base plane. You should not be using that anymore.
@@LesOReilly just a quick update, after SU15 the new BETA release v0.6.0-beta1 of dementedmonkey works perfectly - same process as your video, just the new version. Guessing mine didnt work before as I was on SU15 beta, just thought I'd share. Thanks again for all the great guidance.
