This is the best hair dying tutorial I have ever seen! I've been wanting to go ginger for a while, and have tried (and failed) a couple times already, but this is the first video I've seen that actually makes me feel as though I understand the process enough to succeed for once. Here's to hoping that this go around is finally the one that turns out well.
I recently went copper and Im in looove with your hair! I’m a hair student but even I try to not go to the salon cause it’s so expensive. I’ll definitely be doing this!!
@@RebeccaSeals I cannot find this colour in the UK unfortunately, this is so sad :( I can order the color sync one but I cannot find the SOColor :( The colour is amazing, I wish there was available in the UK
@Fazejc976 Ah thankyou so much for this info. I can buy that from amazon I can see. High lifts dyes are being used with either 30 vol or 40 vol developer so it is correct that you use the 30 vol. I am using 30 vol with the hair dye as well as I need 2 levels of lift, 20 vol only lifts 1 level with hair dyes. So it is ok and safe to use it with 30 vol, it does not damage your hair but only do the roots with that colour and use a demi or semi permanent colour for the lenngths. If you dye with permanent dye and 30 vol over and over again on the already dyed hair then you get damage. If you use it on the roots it is fine.
Thank you! I never would have thought of using 10 developer and a demi for the already colored parts. It makes complete sense to avoid a bunch of damage. Thanks! This is my favorite and most informative video I've found! Gonna dye my hair copper red!
This made me subscribe to your channel I'm a black ginger and you literally taught me af how to redo my color your highely appreciated Rebecca and btw you slayed that Coraline looks yassss
Thank you SO much for making this video. I do have a hair stylist but, with this epidemic I don't know when I'd be able to get my hair done. Currently my roots are growing and the rest of my hair is copper. So, the part about the two developer's is SO helpful.
Your technique and instructions are very clear and thorough! The results are perfect!!! I did however, think that your hair was perfect before you started. It had so much depth. Also, (and although you don’t have any) it would be interesting to see your best method to tackle grey roots. 😳. Thanks for a great tutorial.
This color suits you so much, it’s gorgeous! You actually inspired me to dye my hair a similar color and I love it, My hair is orange but like ORANGE! Lol
When I was a red head I would mix my Joico red color with my conditioner in the shower and let it sit for a few minutes. My hair always looked perfect and vibrant
Amazing tutorial. I have been wanting to do this color for so long but hate bleach. Was thinking of this method but was unsure if 30 vol would lift my hair color enough but your tutorial gave me confidence to try it!
I LOVE your hair color! Last Fall I dyed my hair red (little mermaid red hair color). I used the 30 developer as well. I loved the color. It was so bright and pretty. Now for this fall I’m aiming to go for the color you dyed your hair on this video. I’m definitely going to try it. Ty for this video!
I am so glad that I stumbled upon this video! I recently went to a salon and had my hair dyed. I was blonde for about two years and so I wanted to go copper. I waited about 3 weeks to wash my hair and as soon I started washing my hair the color came out super quick. I’m now strawberry blonde and the back is darker than the front ( the colorist messed up smh). Every video that I have watched on RUclips has been people using the semi permanent rinses which I didn’t want to do. Your method is going to be Perfect for me so I can try to fix the unevenness and get my hair laid at home😩. THANK YOU! I loved your video and your hair tuned out beautiful! 💕 just subscribed
I’m having that problem as well. I had a full head of bleached hair with a significant amount of brown regrowth. I got it done copper but within 10 days I had to go to the salon to get it touched up as the colour faded after 2 washes, on the bleached section of my hair. So far it has cost me $600 :( I’d love to do this at home but am scared. How did you go?
You explained everything so well. It was nice to not have to wonder about questions because you were already speaking on it🙌🏽 love the hair color on you! I’ll be picking out a color today ! Thank you

The salon quoted me a price of $400 which I don't have so I'm trying to keep the color I want as cheap as possible and I use the copper Keracolor conditioner once a week when I wash and condition my hair if that matters
The overtone hair colouring conditioner works really well to i coloured mine with the ginger one turned out awesome and it’s quick only leave it 15 minutes
I have a question if you’re still here. lol. I need to do the same process but I have level 6 blonde ash roots and 9 golden length. Do you have any advice which colors I should use? Just trying to touch up roots to match the length that needs to be refreshed
Literally the best tutorial I've found (I've watched SO MUCH), THANK YOU! I was sitting here thinking "Wow what an amazing tutorial AND she seems so sweet I love this video!" to think you were at 13K subscribers at the time of this video post, and now it's at almost 59K!!!! CONGRATS OMG CONGRATS! 😍
Came across this video and I loved it I am at red copper hair color right now but I’m trying to get to that color you have. Thank you for the tip 😊❤ and for sharing your process appreciate it beautiful lady !
I went ginger like two months ago and some salon lady did it but this is all I was looking for to touch up my roots and be as vibrant as I want them. Thank you so much and for the shampoo suggestion also needed that I do use dp hue gloss which is bomb too 🧡🧡🧡 😭😍
Thanks for this awesome video!!! Don’t you need to be a professional to buy from salon centric? If so, where would you recommend getting these products or similar ones to achieve a vibrant copper/ginger color?
Was the rest of your hair already bleached/blonde before you went copper? Or was the copper on your lengths achieved through 30vol developer plus colour?
I think you have to do what she did to her roots to your whole hair with a slight difference. You'd have to apply the product on all of your hair with the exception of the roots, let it sit for 15 minutes and then continue with the rest. The reason for this is the heat of the scalp makes the process faster. If you put it in your roots from the beginning you're going to get "hot roots" (lighter roots, darker ends, which doesn't look natural)
@@user-kj7jk6kn9g True, unless you do not go lighter than your own level. I color my roots first every time, but I never use developer more than 10-15volume(3-4,5%) If you stay the same level or go darker, roots first is fine, even better if you have greys. But if you use 30 volume, yes - do the roots last.
Where do you get matrix HDCR and can you please tell me because I have been looking everywhere for this color and I will appreciate it please and thank you so much 😊
Thank you for the tutorial. Could you explain please what you would do different if you were going for a brighter orange not copper would you still use 30 developer and a different color and it would still lift brown roots? Thank you))
I'm a natural strawberry blond I used box dark Auburn red last month & its already faded & my roots need touched up. The box came with a developer so now that you've said I need different levels I don't know what the hell to do. I've dyed my hair maybe 4 times in my entire life & never touched up before. For this very reason I didn't know the best way to go about it. I usually just cut the color off🤷♀️.
It would be very helpful if you could tell us the exact numbers of dye for example in majirel L oreal or Swarzkopf because we cannot find the products you suggest in our country. Your color is great but the products are unknown and don t exist at least to my country.
do you live by yourself? I'm planning to put bright orange with 10 vol dev to my hair to give them a more carrot like tone. I have naturally dark brown hair, and have colored 7.45. hopefully i can get that ginger effect.
I recently went red and i've been trying to find this shade but i'm wondering if maybe it was discontinued ?? I've searched everywhere (Ebay, beauty supply, professional supply warehouses, etc) and can't find it in stock anywhere. Bummer...
You're amazing. Thank you for the peroxide explanation, that has been the best explanation ever and I finally get it! Also, you just look like a pro. Awesome vid, super helpful
You explained perfectly thanks Girl 😍 i only want to know if it works the same without bleach on the rest of a processed hair 🥰 thanks in advance for replying 🥰
I'm a 3 normally but on March 12th my friend dyed my hair with the Garnier Olia Intense Copper color and I love it. She told me to use 20 developer with the bleach when my roots show. Is that what I'm supposed 2 do? When she bleached my hair it went from a level 3 to probably an 8 cause it was pale blonde now it's still copper but the blonde is showing a lot so hopefully the dye gets here by the 12th when I have to color again. Also can I get by with 2 boxes instead of the 3 she used just for a touch up or to reboot the color?
Do you recommend for someone who is a dark blonde to still use the two different color reds for the roots and the ends? I know you talked about it with the developer and the roots for you being a darker haired person to help match the rest of your hair
Rebecca Seals, I would like to know what shades of color cream or dye you used, in my country they do not sell that brand and I would like to order it by amazon. please help
I just ordered the so color HD CR and I'm going to use it all of over my hair 👌

such a good video. Going orange from icey blonde tomorrow so I'm learning all about it, this was the best and most informative video by far:) and you are so sweet and funny and beautiful:)
Did you bleached the rest of your hair before, or did you use the same technique like you used in the video? I also have about level 5 hair and want to be ginger, but I don't know if I need to bleach my virgin hair before coloring it.
I have had my hair dyed by so many people now including a salon. I love the bright copper colour but from dyes that are dull to people botching it, I get fustrated with it 😪 at the salon I asked for an ombre with highlights so they put on only one colour that was a bright red not copper or ginger 😬 my sister did a good job with a lunar tides but refused to lighten the top so it only showed on my tips. last time it was done I had it done by someone I didn't want to touch my hair who forced me to let them and I was freaking out!!! (they massaged it like shampoo and because there was dye left they found it funny to rub it on my face!!!!!) so my hair has been very patchy ever since. 😭 was also done more of a dark red but I usually try to aim for coppers and aurborns (I like a mix of natural and bold being kinda in the middle) but I've been leaving my hair for a while to get as much colour out before I strip it but i won't do that maybe for a few more months to give my hair a break (one thing I am glad about is my hair is usually pretty healthy apart from a few split ends but if I'm changing up the colour I leave it a few months anyway to breath) I will probably strip my hair before I do it again anyway to get the rest of the patchiness out and I found stripping it gets my hair to my natural light mousy blond without damaging it which I found bleach did to my ends (so I am glad only the ends were done) but in the meantime I've been looking up tutorial over tutorial. dyes after dyes. (pretty hard to find a bright copper in the drugstore so online is the only bet and won't get one unless there are good reviews) but I have never seen anyone with hair close to how I want it with a tutorial. there are photos online I'm like yes!!! that!!! but no tutorials. TODAY IS MY SAVING GRACE!!!! 😭😭😭 seeing your hair here with it being a tutorial your hair not only being the colour I want but also not being dry (if I see a decent looking colour but the hair looks overly dry I tend to skip it) but your hair looks healthy and with the tutorial on the routs and stuff, maybe there's hope for my hair after all 😅😊
Hey I’m a medium red brown looking to do this color! To make my ends as bright as yours for the first time should I use 30 developer all over? Or just follow exactly what you did here?
Hi, i currently have bleach hair with semi permanent red hair dye on my lengths. im trying to stop using bleach and use igora royal instead to touch up my roots. my natural hair colour is black. do u think 30% developer is ok? & can i still use semi permanent colour on it?
What is the point of the second color? More vibrancy or to blend the difference in color between your roots and the ends? I’m dying my hair from Ash brown to ginger and attempting to dye blonde hair extensions ginger to match and blend the together, do you think I should use the first color on both and then put the extensions in and use the second color at the end or if I wait until it’s dry and add the second color, will it mess it up? HELP!
I just want to color my dark roots in bright burgundy and to refresh my ends because the color is fading. Is it possible to only put semi-permanent color on the ends without using the developer 10 ? I want my ends to still be healthy
Hi! I have been trying to get a copper color at home for a few months now, I recently tried a ginger color from the brand adore and my hair is now what you see in my profile picture (dark redish/ginger tint with my dark brown roots) to get the color you have how much developer and dye do I use on my roots and on the rest of my hair. It would be awesome if you replied, I'm trying to get this color before my birthday in a few weeks! Thank you!
Hey rebecca.... Im a brunette and Im looking to go julianne moore ginger brown and I know I'll probably have to go to sallys.... Any recommendations of color and if I need to lighten it down to a yellow color first..... I do have pics of the color I want too if needed

I will probably strip my hair before I do it again anyway to get the rest of the patchiness out and I found stripping it gets my hair to my natural light mousy blond without damaging it which I found bleach did to my ends (so I am glad only the ends were done)
but in the meantime I've been looking up tutorial over tutorial. dyes after dyes. (pretty hard to find a bright copper in the drugstore so online is the only bet and won't get one unless there are good reviews)
but I have never seen anyone with hair close to how I want it with a tutorial. there are photos online I'm like yes!!! that!!! but no tutorials.
TODAY IS MY SAVING GRACE!!!! 😭😭😭
seeing your hair here with it being a tutorial your hair not only being the colour I want but also not being dry (if I see a decent looking colour but the hair looks overly dry I tend to skip it)
but your hair looks healthy and with the tutorial on the routs and stuff, maybe there's hope for my hair after all 😅😊
What do you do in situations where you don’t mind your regrowth but the bottom half has faded significantly due to being dyed on top of bleached hair
If I have platinum blonde hair already, do I need to use developer or can I just use the dye straight away?
Wich colors you use? 😍
Would this color go over black?
It would not, I’m sorry. Color doesn’t remove color, you would need to pre lighten first
Can you tell me what matrix socolor and syn color to use to get a lighter less vibrant hair color, like a ginger cinnamon hair color!
So I have blonde with and 1in of root and I wanna go red would this way work for me or should I just bleach my roots?
Ahaha your intro is so good! 90's kids will know
What is the point of the second color? More vibrancy or to blend the difference in color between your roots and the ends? I’m dying my hair from Ash brown to ginger and attempting to dye blonde hair extensions ginger to match and blend the together, do you think I should use the first color on both and then put the extensions in and use the second color at the end or if I wait until it’s dry and add the second color, will it mess it up? HELP!
Much needed video. Thx
Can anyone answer if she had previously bleached the rest of the hair before this or can it get that light from level 5/6 brown? Thx!
I just want to color my dark roots in bright burgundy and to refresh my ends because the color is fading. Is it possible to only put semi-permanent color on the ends without using the developer 10 ? I want my ends to still be healthy
Great tutorial- I wish I could pull off orange red- what red did you use when it was darker red?
It was HD-RV by the same brand actually, matrix lol! :)
I am Sooo going to try it- thanks❤️
Hey love! Unfortunately I am not a professional hairstylist and I don’t feel comfortable giving you any personal recommendations outside of what’s in this video, I’m so sorry!♥️ I always recommend asking a licensed professional first🖤
Beautiful color!!
If I did this to my hair the first time, do I need to apply directly with 30 volume developer? I mean for my all hair?
Great dying tutorial, thank u! 🥰
Can I mix different brands, like for example... Schwarzkopf Blond Me 30 developer with Wella Koleston permanent color or both must be the same brand?
Sorry for my bad english.
Good lord you rock any hair color but your red is always straight 🔥
