Hey TGV, I just purchased my first luxury watch! It’s an omega speed master “sapphire sandwich” I purchased from crown and caliber. I just wanted to tell you that your channel nurtured my love of watches from a young age, and without it, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Cheers.
Congrats! I hope you enjoy it. What a cool choice. I am inspired by your words of support, here's to you and your love for the hobby! Thank you Taylor, Best regards, TGV
@@theurbangentry TUG - may I indulge your attention, with a question? I wore watches from 12 or so until I was 38 or so. I am really hard of watches. My physical chemistry is such that I eat the cases until they shave skin off me. I went thru 4 or so watches but now due to finding your content - I am intrigued to find my first watch in retirement. Stainless case comes to mind, can you suggest? Or even point to a video to follow. Watches, great tools, find wine or scotch, great food - life is about the enjoyment of the experience rather than just trudging thru it! Cheers and Thank you! PS - I will search your content in the mean time.
And I like your mic reviews. I recently bought a senheiser featured on your channel because it sounded so damn good. A really informative channel if you 're in the market, and fun even if you're not. Keep throwing those boxes!
Thank you my friend;) I can’t believe an upgrade on a bracelet with a higher end watch like this was so not made more aware of?! Your shows are never predictable and I love the fact you showcase things you love and are passionate about. Look forward to the next one!
Well if this is the case...please tell Tissot it worked! I saw the ad, it sparked my interest, my birthday is in the next 2 weeks and I plan on picking one up
It's interesting how life has a way of maneuvering you where you want to be as long as you're willing to grow where you're planted. I'm very happy for you, sir. I'm growing my passions as well, you and your channel have truly been a part of that. Here's to the best being yet to come. Onwards and upwards.
Just the whole atmosphere that you create around your show. I mean WOW it starts with the intro and then you start talking about those watches very passionate on a good pace, not to fast and neither to slow, very informative and entertaining. But not only that does it for me. It is also everything that is going on in the background I mean those beautiful images on the computer screens that change from time to time, the movie poster that is standing behind you and off course your bulletin board which is also full off stuff about watches and historical things. For me all those things together just make it a great show which sets a tone that not many shows know how to create. Keep up the good work! And thank you for all the videos you have created so far. (Sorry for my English, I just really needed to tell you this) Big fan from The Netherlands
I have been following you for quite a few years and can see the progress you have made. Well deserved. I enjoy your content and originality. Thank you.
Frankly, I often watch only your intro and then listening to the main part while doing other things beside.:-) But it's always a joy to hear your voice and thoughts about watches and horology. Cheers from Germany
I hope you keep making lots of videos. Your voice when presenting is very soothing, and the eloquence and writing is some of the best in the watch community. Big fan!
Thank you TGV for the incredible deep video! I really love your honesty and expertise on how you review watches. I really love your passion for horology because you inspire me to read and learn more. I also love your great intros. You always motivate me to be a more well rounded individual because I learn a lot from your watch reviews and other topics on your channel like dressing properly and how to buy the right drinks. Thank you TGV you have made my day with this video! Stay Healthy and Well! Thank you again!
Thank you Nicolas, I am deeply, deeply flattered. this is why I make videos and in turn, your comment has made my day. Stay healthy and well my friend too. Onwards and ever upwards! Best regards, TGV
Love the channel. I love the content and the content creator. You have opened my eyes a lot of cool stuff other than watches. I’m always paying attention to what’s in the background and even the music.
That Omega constellation review intro was supremely epic. I watch the video all the times just for the intro. It actually makes me wanna get a constellation.
Great video. Channels with integrity and independence are few and far between. I hope I'm following your example with mine, and Dom's Beer Guide in saying what I think about something without any bias. Intro to this is fabulous btw.
From an old time italian viewer of your channel, i really love your contents and the passion you have and share with us! Always love when you speak italian too! Hope the time you make a video in italian comes soon! Sei forte! Un abbraccio!

A very good way to inform people about orologeria and orologi! Bravo Tristano! The italian horology youtube scene is a very lively one, I personally revive my passion because of them! Ciao!!!!
Hi TGV, I've been watching your "show" for a few years ( my how time flies). One of the first I watched was about making coffee! My how your style has developed!! I am so pleased you have returned to your love of "many things" and to be totally honest the only time I felt the show had lost some of its enthusiasm was the Watchbox era-it felt a bit jaded ,I hope you don't mind me saying. We share lots of common interests from architecture ( I took my degree in it) films , mens sartorial garb and in general all things fine & quality. Pens, watches and jewellry included. I loved your comments on Christopher Ward watches recently (Trident my daily wear) also have Tissot, Maurice Lacroix & Longines in my autos, plus several quartz. Still a great show and content and I truly love your ethos. From over here in Blighty. Best regards
TGV, You made the right call with the channel- preserve the enthusiasm, and give yourself room for the occasional eclectic episode. Your efforts show who you are, because you don't copy anyone else. Admitting mistakes is not weakness, as you know. And Hugo is great fun!. Thanks for your hard work!
A video of all of Hugo's career should be a thing. That fella is the hook which you use to bring us to your channel faithfully. Keep up your entertaining work and honest reviews.
Errare humanum est! No biggie it makes you more sympathetic that you explain your mistake. Your independence is paramount and I’m happy for you that you can persue your passion. Hard work and perseverance pays off. I have much respect for what you do. And the passion you put in your video is the reason I love this channel. Also I really love your content and am a student of history and philosophy myself. And yours is the only channel that touches on these subjects more in depth then others Many thanks and keep it up!
Love seeing new videos from you! And as other stated the intro was creative. I would like to make a suggestion for as I hope you’d consider for a future video. You and others consistently talk about the most common brands: the Rs, Oms, Breits, Seiks, etc. I am seeing a few old ones that I never see information on. Such ones as Technos, Alba, Enicar, etc. I would love to see you tackle giving a video on the quality or history or just information about such uncommon brands. I mean do we really need another video about Seiko, Rolex and Omega? I hope this also interests you. If not, I am sure your next video will still be interesting. Toddle Loo.
Tristano, I actually forgot you were doing RUclips part-time,; so I guess I would say the quality of your channel has not diminished. If anything, they are better than ever. I have a question: are you concerned that a watch company that you do video editing for will expect a favorable review of their watches on this channel? I know you have a lot of integrity and have little doubt what you would do, but is it a concern? Your objectivity has, in my opinion, been your greatest asset. I never find myself asking what TGV's "angle is" as I do with some other reviewers. Take care, Ian
TGV - I am so pleased to learn you are still making videos on RUclips even if it is on a part time basis. Your intros are fantastic and your enthusiasm for watches is contagious. Keep up the great work.
No need to explain yourself TGV. We all know where you are coming from. Integrity at its finest. May you keep informing us and entertaining us for many years to come. Best wishes from the U.K.
I'm new to watch collecting and your channel. What I really appreciate about you is that you don't make me feel like dirt for enjoying affordable watches. My only quibble with you is that I'm Team Citizen and you're clearly Team Seiko 😄. Keep up the fun work!

Superb video with a killer intro! I just hope Hugo doesn’t want a “friend” round for dinner!! 😝 personally I don’t feel you need to apologise, you found an extra feature of the watch and reviewed it. I agree with your view but I’m still adding a Constellation to my collection!
Glad to hear the freelance editing is working out. I was hopeful that - for just the reasons you mentioned - the transition from fulltime YT would work well. Here's to the channel!
Great intro TGV. You're authentic, no need to apologies.... I've really enjoyed watching your journey over many years and seen first hand how your craft has rapidly improved. Well done Sir.
TGV: Like so many others, I’ve been inspired and informed (and amused) by your enthusiasm, insight, humor, and the technical and aesthetic excellence of the channel. It has helped me learn and advance as a watch enthusiast as well as well as keep a healthy perspective in a hobby (infatuation?) that too many online infuse with a touch (or more) of snobbery and disdain. Also love the fact that you come at watches as a Renaissance man, a student of art and history and design, equally comfortable with talking about an Audemars or a favorite Lego build. On the latter, if you are looking for a new build - go for the Saturn 5, one of the best looking and technically brilliant Lego creations ever, in my book. Also would love to see you talk about the trend toward retro digitals, like the newish Yema and some of the cooler re-issues. My favorite of the latter is the black Bulova Computron, which looks like it was carved off of Darth Vader’s TIE fighter!. Thanks again for your hard work and passion - both are greatly appreciated!

I’ve been a subscriber since you first began and I’m glad that you are putting an emphasis on objectivity and independence. I’ll be honest, I didn’t feel that was the case in your FB group, which felt sycophantic and all about managing the brand. Best wishes in all your future endeavors. Also, nobody has ever worn a velvet jacket and a turtleneck and not considered themselves to be a BIT of an aficionado. ;)
Congratulations on your success. You have definitely earned it! It's obvious you are an amazing video editor 👍. looking forward to the next one (and that Lego project). O&U! Regards, Koen
What a wonderful channel. I got my first Seiko 5 a while ago and now I just added the prospex spb143. Very happy with it. My next watch will probably be a Rolex Thunderbird 1625 from late 60 in gold with white dial on a brown leather strap. Or should I rather go for a Casio G-shock 5610? Life’s difficult choices....
Watched you replying to negative comments and can't believe any of it. Your positivity is infectious and I love your intros with Hugo it's the only horology channel my family let me show them thanks for the laughs and onwards and upwards.
I’m not 100% sure that was a mistake... however I like how you’re clearing things up and explaining yourself. I think you are always authentic and it keeps me coming back.
I think your channel has absolutely moved in the right direction TGV. Nowadays it's very reminiscent of the first couple of years of The Urban Gentry, where you just share what you like. I loved seeing you make coffee and doing other things. Those videos are what made me a subscriber and seeing that style being carried on now is great.
I do get frustrated at times with the lack of intuitive design on something that should be well thought out (and intuitive) in the first pace. The lack of communication on these aspects shows that they were probably cognizant of this in the first place. Still you owned up to the mistake. Good on you.
This guy does RUclips right. Success is deserved. No short cuts...just hard work.
Agree, only one I actually take advice from.

Congratulations on your success. You have definitely earned it! It's obvious you are an amazing video editor 👍.
looking forward to the next one (and that Lego project).
O&U! Regards,

Staying unbiased and original is so important, thank you for establishing and maintaining these values!!
Best watch channel on Ytube. I learned so much. Thanx again for the great content You do TGV.
I’ve always watched you from the start and the one thing I love about you is your honesty.sean
The intros just keep on getting better and better 😂
You can seriously start a new movie parody channel starring Hugo 😆
TGV always killing it with the intros . Love this channel!
Watched you replying to negative comments and can't believe any of it. Your positivity is infectious and I love your intros with Hugo it's the only horology channel my family let me show them thanks for the laughs and onwards and upwards.
Brilliant video. Keep the integrity of the channel. Looking forward to the Lego building video. Have you tried Gundam? Incredible to build those.
