If the child gets rough, he will learn why he should not get rough with a parrot. I am sure the father stressed the importance of being gentle to small animals. Children who are raised in a loving environment and their mental needs are met, genuinely express a loving nature. When parents are emotional available to their children, children will be less aggressive. When nature and nurture come together, in a balanced and positive way, it is a recipe for a well balanced child.
