  • I've see these upholstery cleaners all over Facebook videos, RUclips videos, and Instagram videos. I had a seat that needed to be cleaned so I ordered it to give it a go. There are many different brands and prices for these. I picked one of the least expensive.

Using an extractor afterward might help and also get the moisture out more quickly.

I used a shop vac to suck out the extra moisture. I left the windows cracked also. So combine that with the 100+ degree days we are having, the seat should be dry in no time.

    Did that end up wicking?

hi sir. I really need your help please. Instead of posting it in a forum I decided to contact you here because I know you know a heck of a lot about the M119 4.2liter engine. I’m from germany and I got myself a W140 with the 4.2 m119. I’ve been fighting the rough idle for about 3 months and i’ve been replacing parts on and off and it doesn’t seem to stop i’ve been getting pretty frustrated. Let’s start from the beginning. I got the car about 3 months ago and on it was very well taken care of by an older german man. I drove the car around till it was warm until I decided to take it on the highway. I drove pretty fast until the car started to heavily misfire. Drove it home and replaced spark plugs, spark plug wires, rotors, and coils. It seemed to fix the misfire but the rough idle was still there pretty heavily. I went on with cleaning the throttle body, MAF, replacing the ECT Sensor, and checking for vacuum leaks but not finding any checked all the hoses and tried my luck with brake cleaner. Still no luck
The thing here is that the second you turn on the car it idles rough so i’m thinking it might not be the O2 sensor. Another thing is that right by the catalytic converter there is a leak close to the O2 sensor that still have to get rid of so do u think it might be the case?
most important thing to mention is that when you drive the car and it warms up the idle improves quite a lot. when you stop at a red light it slowly comes back. the more i drove the car the better it got but it doesn’t just disappear and i can’t risk anything.
please help me sir i’ve been watching your videos for quite some time since i’ve been dealing with my w140 and you have by far the best videos on the m119 i could find on youtube. please and thank you sir greetings from germany

another thing i have to mention is that I replaced the spark plugs to non resistor bosch super plugs. They sold me wrong ones with resistors before. It improved a little bit it’s still there a tiny bit. It’s rougher when you cold start the car
I’ve also took out the fuel injectors and DIY cleaned them with carb cleaner and they seemed to spray just fine. Don’t think that’s the issue. I’m keeping in mind that it might be fuel filter or fuel pressure regulator issue because the more i drove the car the better it’s been getting now even better after new compatible spark plugs. I’ve used a tank and injector cleaner that i poured into the gas tank a month ago it might’ve helped it a little

Hello and thank you for watching! How does it start? Does it crank longer than normal? Does it accelerate normally? Are there any other symptoms than a rough idle? If only a rough idle, that sounds like it could be vacuum leak/fuel pressure related. One of the more common things to go bad on the M119 is the fuel pressure regulator. It is also one if the easiest and leat expensive parts to replace. Sometimes it's obvious when it goes bad. If you pull off the vacuum hose and you find fuel on the vacuum side, then it needs to be replaced.
These engines use a lot of vacuum lines to operate so a leak anywhere could cause a too rich/too lean issue. On a W140 you could even have a vacuum leak inside the car and have issues with how the car runs. Vacuum hose is also fairly inexpensive so I would recommend systematically start replacing vacuum hoses since over time they do become soft and crumble. There are vacuum hoses under the cowling and plastic trim all around the engine on that car also. Some lead into the vehicle interior also. There is a vacuum block under one of the foot wells that can leak also.
I don't think the leak by the O2 sensor would cause the rough idle mainly because it idles rough as soon as you turn it on. O2 sensors have to warm up before they start doing their job. On older cars that could take up to a few minutes. Either way, it wouldn't hurt to fix an exhaust leak.
      Hopefully this helps. Thank you.

@@FriendlyMBTech Hi. Thanks for reply. It’s only the rough idle issue. At the beginning when I got the car it hardly turned on and sometimes cranked for a longer time but now it’s Ok…. The weird thing is that the rough idle is worse on a cold start and better when the engine is warmer. The fuel pressure regulator isn’t leaking any fuel but do you think it could still be faulty? Now I can only bet on the fuel system after trying so much other stuff. The pre owner replaced one of the fuel pumps in 2021 and in 2015 both were replaced. I thought there is only one fuel pump??? The misfire happened when I was on the highway going pretty fast and with the gas tank almost empty i’m guessing it pulled dirt or rust in the fuel filter but it’s only a guess because for some reason the idle improves after driving for a bit.
the idle is only rough on low rpm but when u give it a little bit of gas it’s gone. it accelerates fine, although i do have another transmission problem where it’s shifting rough after washing the engine bay but it has nothing to do with the rough idle because it just appeared the other day. I don’t know what else to do :(

@@FriendlyMBTech what if one of the fuel pumps is not working would that cause a rough idle too? the pump is really loud…. is there a way to test them out?

@@etets444 the fuel pressure regulator could be leaking fuel into the vacuum line and you might not see it externally. It's possible one or both of the fuel pump are on their way out. Being excessively loud could be an indication. You'd have yo check fuel pressure while starting and at idle.
