Not really the same thing but in the first episode of SBCG4AP you have to ruin Homestar's day (then eventually mend it) by making a disguise out of a papier mache head and his clothes which you steal while he's in the shower to pretend to be him at the triannual race and intentionally botch it up. Since you're playing as Strong Bad throughout the game (search up pictures for comparison) the disguise does look like Homestar but not convincingly so, coupled by the fact Strong Bad has a gruff voice compared to Homestar's. But everyone thinks it's Homestar anyway (except Bubs).
Alas fair Ellen's performance concluding the show was a one to die for ... be it may i did not, but only to watch more of her skills on stage another day.

I am just surprised she didn't demand the acting scene in Kingdom of Amalur wasn't on this list. After all it is totally crap even if you succeed with everything.
Can't really blame protagonists for failing at acting, they were raised on a diet of truth and justice. The only thing they'd be worse at would be politics.
Plus they are often recruited for the job last minute, giving them too little time to remember their lines and prepare properly. Expecting them to do a good job is like playing a JRPG, going to fight the final boss while you're very underlevelled, without anything to heal your party (including moves) and expecting to defeat the final boss with ease: it's just not gonna happen.

Sashimiroll In my experience, if you struggle with remembering lines and that sort of thing, the best place to start is in ensemble roles. But always be sure to do a bit of research into which company you’re auditioning for! Some are not nice to their ensemble. Of course, that’s all only if you’re interested.
Geralt's place on this list is kinda Ironic as the voice actor for Geralt (Doug Cockle) if I recall correctly actually lectures drama and theatre at a Bournemouth university of arts.
My favorite part about Geralt in Witcher 3 is no matter what Geralt's saying, Doug is in character. Random observations, anger, sarcasm, amusement, fatherly affection, all still Geralt. It's great.
Not gonna lie, when I saw the title, I immediately thought of Ann from Persona 5. I truly connected with the rest of the group when I heard her attempts at acting...that somehow worked.
Technically though, she wasn't in an actual performance, which seems to be the criteria here. Besides, she got a lot better at actions by the end of the game, along with everyone else in the Phantom Thieves, and delivered her lines perfectly during their public Calling Card.

I actually missed that part when I played XD because I thought "what? I get a chance to sit and wait while playing? No thank you. I can save myself!" I regretted it so much when I saw all the different acts the team would play out to get us out xD

Nine has the whole play at the start where the main character performs a mock sword fight, and you quickly discover the whole thing is a cover so they can kidnap the princess, who wants to be kidnapped, and she ends up on stage, and the whole crew attempts to wing it, and nearly manages it until she gets set on fire. The grand finale features another theater performance.
Ahhh. Biff the Understudy is my favourite actor in all of gaming. Originally used as a placeholder NPC for imperative dialogue in Baldur's Gate 1 in the event that an NPC was gone (dead by my hand) he graduated to actual character in Baldur's Gate 2, stumbling over his lines as he tries to replace Haer'Dalis as a stage actor. Poor Biff.
I would suggest Arthur Morgan from Red Dead 2. Man is supposed to run around ACTING like a cool, badass outlaw, but when i played as him, he had all the intimidation, swagger and cool measured calm of a new puppy. Just as clumsy as well... Far too many bridges accidentally yoted off of...

Joe Nesvick I think they were referring to the inaccuracies in the script you’re given in the mission - Kassandra/Alexios even comments on it and has the option to either repeat the incorrect lines written by the playwright or to recount Leonidas’ actual words

How about Final Fantasy IX play of "I Wanna Be Your Canary"? Granted, it was just a cover to kidnap Princess Garnet, but that's not excuse for not being able to impress all 100 nobles.

The last entry on this list brought up fond memories for me, not memories from playing Life Is Strange (as I haven't played very far into it at all), but memories from when I played Gonzalo in a stage production of The Tempest at my university back in the spring semester of 2018. It wasn't the first theatre production I had acted in, and it hasn't been the last, but it was the first (and, to date, only) Shakespeare play I've acted in. It was a really fun production, and I was lucky to be part of an incredible cast and to be directed by an awesome director.
@lelwut Not really. MaleShep Renegade is a badassery of life. FemShep Renegade is rather...lame. I will admit, FemShep is good for Paragon route and romance. MaleShep is great for the Citadel DLC, all the bro moments and Renegade route. FemShep is rather straight forward to see a consistent better character performance. MaleShep is rather better for character development when his performance takes a dark turn in rare circumstances. There's no wrong Shep. One is easier to understand/attach than the other. If the boring and lifeless is done shit like CoD:AdvancedW/Halo 5, then its a shit character. If the boring and lifeless is done right like CoD:InfiniteW/Halo Reach, then you will have a good emotional pay off. Boring and lifeless is harder to connect to by default. Emotional and living is easier to connect to by default. Connecting to a boring and lifeless character is an advanced method of character attachment compared to the latter.
Fun Fact: Shakespeare's plays use the same metre as the Space Jam theme song, so you can sing pretty much any line from one of ol' Billy's plays to the tune of it.
I wish there was a savepoint before the stage-event in final fantasy 7. I love this moment so much and is always fun to experiment to see what happens... but it takes forever to get this moment again :( Specially love the ending where Cloud kisses the dragon and (spoiler) he turns into a princess and everyone lives happy ever after... except aerith who is confused as hell XD

The Citadel DLC (that's the one this part is in) is worth every penny, if you like ME (and really, who doesn't?). It's full of injokes and fanservice (the good kind), and shenanigans like the acting. And it's a welcome lighthearted break from the pretty sad mood of ME3

Two list ideas I had recently. Games that let you *choose* to be the bad guy. Several games make you play as the bad guy, and many RPGs let you play as a jerk, but how many let you *choose* if you want to be the hero or the villain? For example, I would personally argue Skyrim if you join the Dark Brotherhood, you are unquestionably a villain. And heroes that really didn't ask for it. Gordon Freeman from the first Hal-Life comes to mind, since the majority of the game, his only real goal is to *not die.*
How about in undertale where during Mettatons play later in the game it becomes hard to act mostly because you no lines or directions or script in general and instead either just stand their or run around aimlessly until Mettaton drops you through a trap door. Now that you've fallen into a trap you'd think you couldn't mess with this performance any more you'd be wrong because with the power of resets you can figure out Mettatons twist at the end of his puzzle down there and not step on the green space that allows a monster too attack you. So when Mettaton announces it he halts to a stop as he realized you ruined the only chance this performance had for excitement but decides to give you a taste of your own medicine and attack you anyway.
i'm a theatre honors student and these clips caused me physical pain while reminding me vividly of nightmares i've had regarding onstage unpreparedness so thank you for this funny yet horrifying video

Joe Nesvick I think they were referring to the inaccuracies in the script you’re given in the mission - Kassandra/Alexios even comments on it and has the option to either repeat the incorrect lines written by the playwright or to recount Leonidas’ actual words

What about that bit in Kingdom Come: Deliverance where you can get raging drunk with a priest, and then in the morning have to limp through a sermon he told you the night before to try to cover for him? Fantastic moment of potential failure, which I absolutely failed at.
How about Final Fantasy IX play of "I Wanna Be Your Canary"? Granted, it was just a cover to kidnap Princess Garnet, but that's not excuse for not being able to impress all 100 nobles.

Also I think with this quest in it the game would be R rated and therefore just for people 18 +.

When I saw spoiler warning for FFVII I was like "hold on, what?" then the music started and I groaned and it all came flooding back to me.
The last entry on this list brought up fond memories for me, not memories from playing Life Is Strange (as I haven't played very far into it at all), but memories from when I played Gonzalo in a stage production of The Tempest at my university back in the spring semester of 2018. It wasn't the first theatre production I had acted in, and it hasn't been the last, but it was the first (and, to date, only) Shakespeare play I've acted in. It was a really fun production, and I was lucky to be part of an incredible cast and to be directed by an awesome director.
Ah, but Jon did kiss the evil dragon... then he stabbed her. Good for him.

There's no wrong Shep. One is easier to understand/attach than the other. If the boring and lifeless is done shit like CoD:AdvancedW/Halo 5, then its a shit character. If the boring and lifeless is done right like CoD:InfiniteW/Halo Reach, then you will have a good emotional pay off.
Boring and lifeless is harder to connect to by default.
Emotional and living is easier to connect to by default.
Connecting to a boring and lifeless character is an advanced method of character attachment compared to the latter.
Fun Fact: Shakespeare's plays use the same metre as the Space Jam theme song, so you can sing pretty much any line from one of ol' Billy's plays to the tune of it.

Imagine watching this video having played ME3 but knowing nothing about any of the DLC and thinking: "Acting in Mass Effect 3? I don't remember- wait, a PROTHEAN? And... and... what is up with that N7 jacket!
The Citadel DLC (that's the one this part is in) is worth every penny, if you like ME (and really, who doesn't?). It's full of injokes and fanservice (the good kind), and shenanigans like the acting. And it's a welcome lighthearted break from the pretty sad mood of ME3

Two list ideas I had recently.
Games that let you *choose* to be the bad guy. Several games make you play as the bad guy, and many RPGs let you play as a jerk, but how many let you *choose* if you want to be the hero or the villain? For example, I would personally argue Skyrim if you join the Dark Brotherhood, you are unquestionably a villain.
And heroes that really didn't ask for it. Gordon Freeman from the first Hal-Life comes to mind, since the majority of the game, his only real goal is to *not die.*
Isaac Clarke, Dead Space 2, where the school stage was covered with forest decor and the only lines Isaac had, were from his Line-Gun, lol =^_^=

How about in undertale where during Mettatons play later in the game it becomes hard to act mostly because you no lines or directions or script in general and instead either just stand their or run around aimlessly until Mettaton drops you through a trap door.
Now that you've fallen into a trap you'd think you couldn't mess with this performance any more you'd be wrong because with the power of resets you can figure out Mettatons twist at the end of his puzzle down there and not step on the green space that allows a monster too attack you. So when Mettaton announces it he halts to a stop as he realized you ruined the only chance this performance had for excitement but decides to give you a taste of your own medicine and attack you anyway.
i'm a theatre honors student and these clips caused me physical pain while reminding me vividly of nightmares i've had regarding onstage unpreparedness so thank you for this funny yet horrifying video
