Want to attract the right kind of people/women? DRESS BETTER! As a woman I am personally sick of seeing men look so sloppy and unkempt. Get some pride in yourselves guys and dress for success in just about every aspect of your life.

    Love the channel and the tips and had to share a quick story from yesterday. Been watching your channel to step my game up, stopped at the gas station in jeans, button down flannel, and boots, simple classic but because of small tips I learned I knew I was looking good. The man at the truck in front of me was gassing up in a very similar outfit. He looked me up and down, as I did him, as we both knew who wore it better. I got back in the car and my girlfriend noticed the similarities in our outfits and how I crushed him and how he knew it (she watches the videos with me). Your advice works, thanks Antonio!

    Hi Tony, great vid as usual 👌🏼
    I have a suggestion for a video topic which I really think is lacking (or at least I believe it is when it come to your target market…). Many of your viewers will be professionals who wfh a lot. Whilst we still have to appear smart and presentable on video calls, the reality is that when wfh one just doesn’t dress up in a shirt and tie sitting there in his living room all day waiting for the days video call 😅. Whilst many employers often understand this, it would be really good to get your suggestions on ‘alternative smart wfh clothing’, for example long sleeve polo tops perhaps? I often find myself thinking on a wfh morning ‘hmm how can I look smart (on vid calls) without getting into a crisp ironed shirt and sitting at home in it all day 😂’.
    Also, it would be really good if you expand on this to perhaps talk about things like lighting and video angles on calls…
    Thanking you always 💐

    So easy. No to backwards baseball caps, baggy shorts, trainers/sneakers/tennis shoes, tee-shirts, sweat pants, sweat shirts, denim. untucked shirt. Yes to a dress shoe, (either laced or slip on loafer), cotton twill pants/kakhis/chinos, a belt, and a shirt with a collar. If working in the office, then add a simple tie and sport jacket. The only hard part is that I've had office mates who did not know how to tie a tie, and would ask me to tie his tie for him before going on a job interview. But then get a clip-on tie. Guaranteed better than 99% of men in both residential neighborhoods and at the office. Step two would be to join a gym so that you can actually tuck in your shirt and button your pants. Step three would be to get a tailored jacket that doesn't droop around your shoulders (my pet peeve is men who think they are dressed up with a jacket sized too big around the shoulders causing a lumpy wrinkled top line..) Not until step four would you actually have to epen your wallet and spend some cash to invest in quality comfortable breathable fabric.

    Here's a minor or major problem when buying OTR clothing _(Australia/NZ only)_ we have basically three options:
    1. Farmers (NZ) or David Jones)
    2. Kmart/Target
    3. The Warehouse
    Option 3 is out of the question, as their clothing range is very restricted! No formal jackets/blazers/sports coats no proper _quality_ shirts, and the shoes are 3rd grade leather _(genuine leather)_ that only last 3 months @ $25 a pair, over 10 years, $1,000.
    Option 1 would be OK if one can afford it!
    Option 4, sole stores that sell quality OTR and/or MTM items! Like Pat Menzines of Queen Street Auckland!

      I am an American and lived in NZ for a while...try Albany mall I used to do a lot of shopping there, I forget what stores but I remember there being a decent selection there. You are right in the fact that NZ has a limited selection when it comes to shopping in comparison to the US but there still are decent places there. The only thing I disliked is that a lot of the blazers you find in NZ are English style and have a boxy shoulder area.
      Have a good day sir!.

    While "know your tailor" is great advice, please keep in mind that many of us live in cultural wastelands and there are literally No Tailors within 50 miles (or more) of us. I was a child in the 1960s and tailors were commonplace. That is not the situation any longer. It is a dying profession in many places and we all pay the price in off the rack offerings that mostly suck. And good luck having a frame that matches up favorably with those rack sizes. 😧 (Insert NSFW verbiage here!)

    Personally I strive to be the best dressed man in the room every time. Even if I'm not the only one in a suit. But little things like a pocket square, nice watch (doesn't have to be expensive) but something that looks good, colour matches your outfit. Polished shoes (I've refused to employ someone after we interviewed him because he hadn't bothered to shine his shoes, what did that say about his attitude to wanting the job).
    I'm the uk most men's fashion is geared to 15 year olds...men in their 50s like me shouldn't wear clothes targeted at teenagers

    • @Tee55118
      @Tee55118 Год назад

      I despise interviewers who use psychological games to refuse to hire someone. Like unshined shoes for a job in a basement cube farm. So few jobs are client-facing. Of course US is different than UK,; in the US, unless you are hiring an entertainment model, anything other than a double-blind interview is a set-up for a long, expensive employment lawsuit.

      But I was interviewing him for an entry level job in a global financial organisation not McDonald's. If he could not put the effort into looking his best, then what effort would he put in to the job. This guy had just completed university and should have known what was expected in such a situation. If he had been a sixteen year old school lever (the age you can leave after exams in the UK) I would have had different expectations.

    • @martijnvangammeren1868
      @martijnvangammeren1868 Год назад +2

      The thing about layering is that you can drop layers. If your first layer, say a shirt is nice on itself than go for it. Or a polo with a sports jacket and if its to hot you can remove that jacket. I work with children who are mentally ill and I don't dress very well if I need to be on the group as they can destroy you're clothing by pulling, biting, scratching. But a shirt and trousers/jeans and a sports jacket can be sturdy enough.

Even when I travelled to the US or Europe in Winter, these jackets are fine with a thicker jumper. Meanwhile, my mum is wearing an overcoat in Spring...
