If you want to prove that Zeiss has some quality that Sigma doesn't, then find a way to measure it. This is way simpler than people think. In audio people found ways to characterize quality by doing psychoacoustic reasearch, where they produce data revealing what people like and what they don't like. That's how today quality audio is a merc but at the price of a Corolla. You can pay $20 and get a transparent sound in your earphones. In order for that to happen you need to first believe that quality can be understood.
You are choosing the other way. In my opinion the reason why Zeiss lost is because it was marketed towards gatekeepey romantic dreamers who don't want to believe the quality is measurable, which in turn convinced other people that it's a scam. Build quality is nice, but you can get it with lenses of other make too, including Samyang.
