While I didn't buy them from you, I found a shop near me in the US that sells several of the brands you've recommended, as well as Zeiss lenses. I just got a pair of orgreen SuperCell 2.0 in the Tuxedo Blue / Electric Yellow for computer / office use, and a pair of Reykjavik Eyes Hextor in bright blue ... those with PhotoFusion X Blue and a Mirror White flash coating. After a prolonged argument with my optician, I finally gave in to having a Zeiss Precision Plus last year. When I put them on, the first thing I felt was clarity. It was superb! The rendition of colors was also very close to natural. The glare of the sun and other bright light sources was also greatly reduced. I don't think that I can ever use any lenses from any other brand.

What do you think I should go for?
    Also what do you think of Nikon SeeMax Infinite as a competitor? Should I consider them or stick with Zeiss?
    P.S. I will use Photofusion X with either of the lenses.

    • @thespectaclefactory
      @thespectaclefactory  Год назад +2

      FreeForm is a manufacturing technique, which makes lens designs such as SmartLife possible. So your question is like asking 'is there a big difference between a micro chip and a computer?'
      The micro chip makes the computer possible, but you can have a cheap computer and a more advanced computer.
      FreeForm manufacturing is decades old, you need to ask what is the design fingerprint of the lenses.

Lotutec is quite outdated nowadays, and yes I have had issues with this coating. Silver I have literally never used. Platinum seems pretty good, and comes with a good warranty if it does fail.
      But I think Hoya are ahead of everybody else when it comes to coatings. I've been to their facility and the tests they do are second to none.

    Are the Zeiss Smartlife lenses the closest to "natural eye vision" performance would you say? Also, does Zeiss tend to use a different lens material for Rx lenses compared to other manufacturers or is it more the combination of material + coatings that gives the Zeiss an edge? Lastly, is there a special certification or prerequisite for a lab to carry and outfit glasses with Zeiss?

    • @thespectaclefactory
      @thespectaclefactory  2 года назад +4

      In my opinion, yes.
      No, the materials are the same. It's not the coatings either. It's the mathematics of designing the optics and the precision of being able to manufacture the lenses to a very high degree of accuracy.

    Question. I just ordered Zeiss Trivex lenses that are also progressive. My question is, Trivex is a registered brand of lenses. So is the lens Trivex, or Zeiss? Or does the Zeiss lab make the Trivex lenses? Will the Zeiss watermark be on my lenses or the Trivex watermark? Wondering if you can shed some clarity on this subject matter. for example ; I wanted it to be trivex at 1.53 , I want DuraVision Platinum coating on top of DriveSafe, can these 2 compliment each other ? Does DriveSafe comes with PhotoFusion or Transition? I noticed some Zeiss lenses has option of Transition and then for a bit more the same lens can be "upgraded" to PhotoFusion, is that the case or printing error in the dispensary booklet ?

I take a lot of photos and videos and would prefer to have the least amount of glare possible so that my eyes aren’t hidden in pictures. Do the BlueGuard lenses make any difference and do they still reflect purple? I never thought there was much difference between one brand or another since it is difficult for me to compare an older pair of glasses with a new prescription. My last pair were made with Zeiss. And they were the best glasses I owned in more than 50 years
    A few months after picking them up I had an accident that broke the drill mount frames, the lenses survived, but to my surprise the lenses were unusable!
    My new pair are from a different glass shop and they use essilor lenses….perhaps it’s their lab techs inexperience, computer glitch, the poor sales attitude or some other thing but I’m not impressed with the smaller field of view and lack of overall quality of the optics…several pinholes have appeared on the eye side of one lens that look like a flaw in the the coating
