‘Absolutely Not’: Expert Challenges Alex Murdaugh Defense’s Two Shooters Theory

- Prosecutors called their last expert witness back up to the stand Tuesday afternoon in Alex Murdaugh’s trial. Dr. Kenneth Kinsey, a crime scene investigator, testified about the defense’s two shooters theory presented during their case. “I cannot include or disclude two shooters,” Dr. Kinsey said explaining that the defense can’t make these claims either.

Bravo, Dr. Kinsey! You OWNED the defense!
Has anyone noticed that Alex never had said he’s eager to find out who killed his wife and child but he’s just saying he didn’t? If I was innocent I’d be saying please find out who did but he’s not even caring
Well, when you're being accused of killing them that kind of shifts the focus.
Great point !!!
Yes. As whiny as he was about himself in his testimony, not once did he indicate any thoughts about the fact that the prosecution is wasting time going after the wrong guy. He knows he's guilty.
@@marclaclear6628 I disagree. I’ve seen the falsely accused gladly say “lock me up, I don’t care, just so long as you keep looking.” The problem is they usually don’t if they have tunnel vision. If he’s not guilty, he should be saying that so they’re looking elsewhere
I’ve been thinking the same thing. It’s crazy!
I also wonder why the state has not mentioned that it asked Alec while on witness stand unless I’ve missed something.
It’s possible the Prosecution will use that in closing arguments! Bam!
I keep waiting for Alex to say “That’s not how it happened!”

It doesn't matter if there were 2 shooters, because Alec still coud have been one of them. The 2-shooter theory doesn't get him off the hook.
He doesn't need to "get off the hook", the prosecution needs to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he did it. Presume innocence.
It does matter because it shows that the prosecution’s theory of the case is wrong thus creating reasonable doubt that what the prosecution said happened did in-fact happen.

ALEX SHOT PAUL FIRST ,MAGGIE HEARD HIM SCREAM,LIKE A GOOD MOTHER WENT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED TO HER BOY SAW HIM ,AND TOOK OFF RUNNING WHEN ALEX SHOT HER
That's a horrible way to die, to see your son get killed and worse is from the people you trusted (granted it was AM).
Exactly
I think he shot his son and before the wife knew what was happening she was being gunned down by a high powers rifle.
She was shot in her front side first.
Horrific 😥
The hit was on Maggie. Paul wasn’t supposed to b there. Y’all jus make things up to suit your fantasies. This is reality.
Alex looks nervous to Dr Kinsey saying" I cannot exclude the possibility of a 6 foot 4 inch shooter"
I believe Alex was sitting in the 4-wheeler when he shot both of them. Pulled the shotgun from under his blue poncho and shot poor Paul first and pulled out the other gun and shot his wife. Remember that Alex is a long time hunter and I'm sure knows how to handle a gun and shoot quickly. Plus there were tread marks on Maggie's leg, which I believe was from the 4-wheeler.
@@deethegardengirlI think he rounded the side of the feed room, crouched. I think Maggie was either in the 4x4 on her phone or in the hanger. He was squatting but on his feet and shot Paul who was fooling on his phone. I believe there was yelling and I think Alex was hysterical during this but also very determined. Paul took 1-2 steps, Alex advanced and shot again while he was standing up (possible also that he was holding the gun low to hide it in the jacket), he leans the gun on the outside of the door then grabbed his second gun which was set up on the side and as Maggie is coming towards the shots (and other noise), he gets her in the leg to stop her-I think it was a hesitation shot and a shot to stop her from moving, she goes down on all fours or whatever, likely grabbing her side headed down with her shoulder folding and he keeps going. He finally goes behind and does the second kill shot as she’s going flat on the ground. Jacket comes off, wraps both guns in it and I think he took the 4x4 back to the house quickly and accidentally ran over her in his haste. Strips totally naked outside (maybe keeps his drawers on) and goes inside to shower and change asap.
The whole load of evidence goes in the car and he hides it in the parent’s driveway/outside area before going into the house. I believe he called his brother for help disposing of this stuff (see: four wheeler ride) but that he brought some of it inside (maybe the guns, maybe just the jacket) and tossed the items that were never found. Maybe burned the clothes. Guns were in the woods and removed later.
Omg, this guy is killing it. Jim Griffin must’ve been having a masochistic moment letting this witness humiliate him so thoroughly.
😂
I was embarrassed for Jim Griffin....
Jim Griffin has been striking out now for weeks..BTW, his specialty is Insurance Defense, hehehe. NOT CRIMINAL DEFENSE. Jim Griffin is a friend of Alex's and I think Harpo added him to the team b/c he thought he would be able to massage/handle Alex more effectively AND both Harpo and Griffin were Paul's attorneys for the boat case...So much baggage in this trial Defense-wise...
Hello
Go
A lawyer with 35 years of experience knows to use two guns to throw suspension off of him and act like it was two people. Remember the boat incident with two drivers...he knows what he's doing...
Creating doubt!!
Great point
Totally agree
Not only that but he would have had to reload if it were only a shotgun and chances are he might miss with a single rifle or single shotgun to make sure both were dead.. a shotgun was used for close proximity guaranteed effect and a fully loaded rifle for further distances he had no time to spare. he may have missed with a rifle even at close range 2 shots from a shotgun was for maximum efffect within that radius he then fired mutiple rounds with the rifle and followed up with a shot to the head. the weapons werent only chosen to throw off the single shooter they were used for a quick and effective as possible execution
He and Dr Ellen are freaking incredible. They both know their onions and watching the defence try to bully them and failing is fantastic. I wish I could buy them both a pint….but, seeing as I’m in the far north of Scotland on a wee island, that’s unlikely!
I would take a pint.

Sounds lovely I bet it's beautiful too. Scotland a beautiful country.
So many of our Southern ancestors came from Scotland. God bless you.
Na bother lad
Alex doesn't look very happy, in fact he bites his nails like his son..looks worried..this witness knows what his talking about..
Dr. Kinsey quickly added that Paul was comfortable with whoever shot him.
Interesting that he would divulge that…
when ? time stamp it
So you’re saying it could’ve been one or two friends of his from the boating accident or the crazy groundskeeper. But the most realistic scenario is that two shooters caught them off guard and that’s why u don’t see any defensive wounds. If u had one shooter Maggie and Paul were so close to each other that if one shooter did it one of them would’ve witnessed the other die and would’ve had defensive wounds even if it was Alex that did the shooting.
@@alexsosa5727 That’s assuming that Maggie was right there when Paul was killed.
How likely was it that 2 other shooters managed to get a hold of 2 family guns to commit said murders?
Alex testified that Paul didn’t have his guns with him when they rode around or at the kennels.
I'm from walterboro South Carolina I'm 50 years old this is been going on for years this is not just started last week this family has been doing this stuff for years so yeah but what I'm so happy about to see the Judge that they have on the Stand when I go home in June my Uncle works at the courthouse I would love to get a picture

Oh yeah, like how a bullet doesn’t make a hole. Or that a round bullet hole won’t mean it’s flying true. Something like that, come on, some of his testimony is junk.
Q: “Can you include two shooters?”

@@ohthelovelypoems I agree. He basically just said one shooter could have done this or two shooters could have and that refutes the defense witness who said only two shooters could have done this. When looking at all the evidence in totality it's unlikely it was two shooters.
@@PhotosynthesisBisector1 You gotta look at all the evidence in totality. This doesn't add any reasonable doubt when you look at all the other evidence showing Alex was the sole shooter and this guy just refuted the defense witness who said only two shooters could have done this and not one.

When he looks in the mirror, it makes him feel like he has hair. Good for him.😊
That's technically not a comb over. Comb overs on balding men are when hair is taken from one side (or the back) and combed over a balding area in an attempt to look like a full head of hair. Hi
AM wanted people there. Did none of his family say, what if the killer came in, is it a good thing to be here? AM is detail guy. Why the trip with his son around the property, creating tracks. AM is always calculated. A criminal mind, looking for opportunity and with the means. Had housekeeper tidy up, she should have known netter, she had been in law enforcement. Local police should have cordoned off the whole estate as a crime scene. Something dead about AM in his heart, so only left with a brutal strategic hot mess of a brain. Compassion and shame, he has not access to.
That demonstration was brilliant. You can see on AMs face that he knows he’s been caught lying again.

I think it will be interesting that they will know that they are deciding the fate of a man that will already go to jail for life.
I wonder if it will make some feel easier about voting NG against their conscience because they don’t have to worry he’ll be a danger on their streets.
But alternatively it may make some people vote guilty if they are pretty sure he did it but might not be beyond a reasonable doubt. After all…even if they are wrong the harm is minimal because he was never going to breath another free breath. It’s not like they are denying a free man his liberty. Just adding 2 more counts to a life sentence.
@TMG: Then you’ll never be on a jury panel because many, if not most, domestic murders are decided on circumstantial evidence because the only witnesses other than the killer are dead. As a juror you would have most serial killers and family murderers walking free.
Dr. Kinsey did an excellent job!! I was also impressed with the lawyer for the prosecution!!

That's what they are supposed to do.
There is a ton of reasonable doubt and only circumstantial evidence.
This was one of the first instances I thought I was watching a murder trial and not a financial one.
That is the idea, is it not?
Honestly…even I, as a lay person, was like…how can you possibly say what you are saying to a reasonable degree of scientific certainty? You seem to be giving a theory Will some conviction that you probably shouldn’t be so certain of.
The defence didn’t have to provide a description of how they were killed. But they CHOSE to put someone ridiculous on the stand to talk about a 5’2” assailant. But even as he was describing it…I was like you don’t know anything about the position of the assailant. People can crouch and kneel. In fact they will commonly kneel to steady their aim. They can trip, they can fall.
And you are expecting me to believe that a brain was shot at point blank and was left mostly intact as it left the skull in the direction OF the blast to land behind the assailant?
That doesn’t make sense to me. I would have laughed in the face of the prosecution if they tried to proposed such a specific theory. And the defence, rightly, would have torn it apart.
I feel like the defence has been trying to prove that it COULDN’T have been him physically because they have to admit that it realistically was him practically. I think the prosecution struggles with everything beyond the fact that he was the only one with access to the means and the opportunity. Those are the strong parts of their case…but the more the defence tries to make it seem IMPOSSIBLE that it could have been him…the less I believe them in ANYTHING they say…even the strong points. And the defence have barely touched the means and opportunity.

Did they not say Paul stumbled forward? Which would mean out of the room. Also it’s possible the Alex did not want to see Paul’s face when he finished him off.
