Lots of memories of the 90s. Ridden quite a lot of these. Still got my 1997 TL1000S love it. The 916 and MV Augusta are things of Italian beauty. The best looking Japanese bike in my opinion in this list is the Yamaha YZF R7 OWO2. Very expensive homologation bike. I have a beautiful 1997 red Super Blackbird with 164 taut horses. She puts a big grin on my face every time. In terms of agility, you really don't notice her 27 years.
I live in Perth Australia, I have a 1997 TL1000s, which is standard except for a pair of Sebring cans. It still has the Rotary damper at the back. It is red, single seat, full power, my wife sort of hates it because she has no seat. It is three quarters the way through a partial tidy up. It sounds excellent as only a TL can. I am 73 this coming Dec 2024, the wife is 70 next year. I traded in my Kawasaki GTR1400 for the TL, the GTR just became to heavy for me. The TL is just right. Long live the TLs,.

I have a 1996 gsxr 750 srad I just blew the motor so over the winter I’m going to restore the bike and put a new motor into it might add turbo we will see
The ZXR750 engine was pretty much the old gpx engine. It was to be fair behind the curve in terms of technology at the time. I own one and love it, but it wasn't a new creation in the engine department, just a bit more tuned.
To be fair, when the engine is mentioned a Zxr J Model is shown and its engine was a complete new design. And at the time a top design as well. Greetings
By far the most uncomfortable bike that I have ever owned. It used to kill my back. I moved to Ducatis after that, far lighter, more fun and way more comfortable weirdly. Oh and that 5 speed gearbox was the worst ever. Shame as it looked good. 😀

The R7 makes well over 106 hp in race trim. 106 horses is more like stock. With the kit, mine makes 139 hp to the real wheel.
R1 of the time made 130whp, no way R7 made more even with race kit. R7 made around 135hp on crank with race kit which translates to around 115whp.
