This video is nice but sadly full of errors. The Oldsmobile speed car, certainly, didn't have an engine that provided "150 bhp" more like 1500BHP. And the Lancia wasn't "looking like a Gallardo" since that series of cars didn't exist until this century.

To have pedals and a motor to power the bike was and still is so common, that is an own category in the german system of vehicles. Nothing special. There are millions of them.

I really liked bench front seats and learnt to drive in the UK in a Vauxhall (GM) Victor which also had a three speed column gear change. I remember driving a Ford LTD Crown Victoria in the US which had a split front bench - it was fantastically comfortable!

First car I had was a 64 Rambler Classic. Had a 287 v8 with a Holley 4 barrel. Reclining bucket seat, and 3 speed on the floor with an overdrive shifter too. Was ugly, but it went like a bat out of hell. I got it for 80 bucks in 73

Pinto fuel tank? How many other cars had even bigger fuel tank in the same place? I had a Cadillac Eldorado with tank right under the trunk and it held 25 gallons of gasoline!

I LOVED when CD's came out, I very quickly replaced my cassette player (you needed to rewind or FF to hear your favorite song!!). I noticed CD's were better in sound quality as well, without that "TAPE HISS" that would distort the music!

I have seen 2 metallic pink 4 door Studebaker Larks with factory supercharged 289 V8 engines- Positive traction rear ends, and 4 speed manual transmissions. Mom got a grocery getter, Dad got his Hot Rod.

the Pinto engines main problem was the dist. would get wongo bongo and make it miss out and causing it to crack the head .

My dad drove his 1963 Plymouth Belvedere till the late 1970's, it had a slant 6 and 3 speed on the column shifter and used as a daily driver year round till the winter salt finally made it unsafe to drive, he loved it because it was simple with nothing to break, no power steering or brakes, no air conditioning, when the junk yard came and towed it away, I thought I saw a tear in his eye as he watched the wrecker hooking his car up then disappear from view with his car unceremoniously on the hook behind as it drove away, then he walked back to the house a little slower than usual

Pop up lights were used to provide aerodynamic front. US requirements made sealed beams mandatory and pop up lights were the only way to get the aerodynamics. Relaxed light requirements allowed other light systems that provided aerodynamics.

despite gov't safety design rules, the new cars are deathtraps because half the cars are made of plastic like bumpers. My 2000 Tacoma is one of the last pickups with steel bumpers, now they are plastic. And the body sheetmetal is too thin to protect anyone. Look at wrecks today, the cars collapse like cardboard.

The 2.0l coolant leak was a 2017-2019 issue due to the change in design on the coolant passeges. The 2.0l before 2.0l were somewhat solid but they still had carbon buildup on the valves due to direct injection which is common with any direct injected engine. The most reliable was the 2.5l na i4 and the least reliable were the Ecoboost 1.5l and 1.6l i4's

So let me get this right, the Ford Pinto has a dangerous engine because it isn't dangerous but the fuel tank is.....did I get that right ?.

You didn't need to be a millionaire in the 70's to own the Mark V or the Eldorado.

I drove a 1975 Pinto Squire wagon with a four speed and Cragar SS mags for a spell in college in the mid 80s. The motor leaked oil, the carb and replacement carb always ran rich, and the fuel tank never moved from its perch behind the rear axle. Always started in sub freezing temperatures. The closest mishap it ever suffered was when the tires got slashed. And I don’t think it had anything to do with the 2.3. If it hasn’t been such a rust bucket, it would have got a 289.

The Ford pinto fuel tank problem had ZERO to do with the Engine. The fires didn’t even occur on that end of the car. The engine was up front. The explosion occurred in the rear as a result of the fuel tank rupturing.

I've heard the triumph tiger 800 is a peach and the best triumph triple. Crankshafts last over 150000 miles with regular oil and oil filter changes. Crash bars mounted in engine cases isn't good but you can get aftermarket ones that don't mount in the alloy.

Please bring back the pop-up headlights.
