#TBT... This was actually a family hymn among my siblings. As such, I have responsibly taught it to my children, who will also pass it along to my grandchildren. Many generations of the Rodriguez clan will gleefully sing "Wassamatta U... Ah SHADDAP YOU FACE!" We're not Italian, but the parallels with Dominican families is seamless. Does it bother you that we are a kooky family? if it does... "Ah SHADDAP YOU FACE!"
Alex Rodríguez Arab families can relate to this song, too. Every time I hear anyone whining about the littlest things, I want to play Shaddupa You Face.
Summer of 1981 I was 12 and went to sleepaway camp while my Mom took a trip to Denmark! It was a gigantic hit worldwide

@@forestfire1232 Tbh though I can understand why, this song is very very catchy. In terms of like a good pop song, it's great. Novelty songs are often very successful. I think there's also a lot of merit in novelty songs-look at Frank Zappa's entire career. But yeah nah Vienna is great art and I think it's really stood the test of time, it's certainly more well remembered that Shaddup Your Face. You could argue one of the main reasons this song is still listened to is that fact that it beat Vienna to number one

One of my brothers and I would play it on my parents' stereo, and dance around and sing the "hey!" part real loud. My Italian-American mother would scold us, saying, "that's not a very nice song!"
Ah....the memories!
what a super song from mister Dolce and well done to him thank you mister Dolce well done
My dad used to play this for my brother and I as kids. We thought it was the funniest thing ever. Brings back some great memories.
Who doesnt cheer up when they hear this!?!? Its one of the most silly yet lovely songs from the 80s :)
Ultravox !
I love this SONG. I’m 44 and for some reason the tune was in my head and o searched it 🤣😂🤣here it is! Love it! Brings memories love it.
This song is amazing i love it
I'm black from NYC. When i was younger I used to hear the older kids sing the chorus of this song and thought it so funny. I had no idea it was a real song til now.
Damn. Total trip for me to hear this song again!!!! VERY VERY RARE song! I first heard it in 1981.
RARE???? it sold millions
Mahler Haze The song is RARE! The last time I heard it on the radio was 1981!!!! That song never plays on the radio. Not like Billie jean or Beat It we hear practically EVERYDAY
Ah ok, gotcha :)
Gilbert Arciniega i just hear on the radio for the very first time never heard it before.!
Really? For the whole day, I was saying 'You shutta your face' and I looked it up and it gave me this
If italy wins the Euro2020 this song should be played after the game
Especially because it's England in the final time for them to Shaddap!
Hello from the uk. Shaduppofyourface, ha ha
U mean 2021?
@@docthefaust4519 yes but they still call it 2020 cause they were supposed to play it last year
Go ahead, guys! Party on!! 🥳
Never heard this before, how happy it makes me. Thank you....
Grandad always used to sing this to me as a kid its a faded memory and actually hearing it brings a tear to my eye, RIP bigman
My grandma used to always listen to this before she passed away. I played it at her funeral and got told off by my auntie and uncle..boring gits. Brings tears to my eyes whenever I hear it now, but cheers me up thinking she would be listening to it up there and singing her heart out :)
I'm sure she was ❤
Das hast du toll gemacht!!!! Für deine Oma!!! Herzallerliebst!!! ❤
All my aunts and uncles are dickheads too ....pay no mind to them.
😢wenn es Person gerne gehört hat bzw gewünscht hätte warum nicht spielen lassen.
Wünsche Ihnen unbekannter weise alles Gute.
#TBT... This was actually a family hymn among my siblings. As such, I have responsibly taught it to my children, who will also pass it along to my grandchildren. Many generations of the Rodriguez clan will gleefully sing "Wassamatta U... Ah SHADDAP YOU FACE!"
We're not Italian, but the parallels with Dominican families is seamless.
Does it bother you that we are a kooky family? if it does... "Ah SHADDAP YOU FACE!"
Good on ya, mate. Totally dig your responsible parenting!
Mexican families like mine used that line for years as well.
Alex Rodríguez It doesn't bother me at all. I feel like singing this every time I hear people whine about everything under the sun.
Alex Rodríguez Arab families can relate to this song, too. Every time I hear anyone whining about the littlest things, I want to play Shaddupa You Face.
I'd forgotten this! Wow, this winds the clock back, doesn't it! Lived in NY when it hit! Tanks alot
Summer of 1981 I was 12 and went to sleepaway camp while my Mom took a trip to Denmark! She went to visit a friend in Copenhagen and apparently they went to all these Danish dance clubs and they were playing this song in every one! All of the Danes sang along to every word. It was a gigantic hit worldwide
It really was.
One of the most played songs on the juke box at West End Tap while I tended bar there!
+stellaofcourse Oh shaddap your face
Cool story bro
This is just what we need right now.
This was big in Canada in 1980. Fun song. We need more like this again.
My uncle used to sing this all the time. Brings back fond memories lol
My grandparent's bought this on a 45 for me. Loved it so much that my Mum had to buy a copy as well for when I was at home :)
AN INCREDIBLY CATCHY TUNE - SHUTA UP YOU FACE - A TRIBUTE TO ALL ITALIANS OF THE FIRST GENERATION
I NEVER KNEW MY FATHER'S VERBAGE WOULD ONE DAY BE IN A SONG - UNBELIEVABLE
Loved this song too. Way back in the 80's, love it now too 😍💙
I remember when this used to play at the local roller-rink. Loved this song! Just happened to think of it the other day. So fun to hear it again.
I'm so grateful my teacher taught me this song before I learn how to understand English clearly now I feel so cool and spacial ah miss the good old day so much.
To whoever reading this have a good day and stay safe
This song bring me back memories, when in Brisbane Australia in a skating ring I listened this song which was listened constantly many people asked for it ! That was in 1981 ! It’s nice to listen it again!
I was 20 years old and living in NJ when this came out... needless to say every one of my peers were running around saying "ah shuddup a you face!" for like a month.
Good times...
I remember this playing on the radio when I was a kid. Great times!
The guy who plays the accordéon is litteraly the perfect description of 70’s pornstars playing plumbers
Mmmm. How would you know????
Yup spot on
Hey man....he was Australia's best accordeon player at the time...and accordeon playing wasn't big in Australia at that time...as you can tell...he was our best.
That is the great Molly Meldrum, he was the host of the show Countdown.
@@user-pp8ke4ip6u I knew I recognised him, wasn't sure if it was him or someone who looks like him 😅🤣😂 Molly Meldrum will always be an Aussie Icon...
This song used to come on the radio in New York City when I was a kid, AND I LOVED THIS SONG! I’m African American and I loved it as though I was an Italian child and knew all the lyrics Lolol!
I was walking through Vienna and couldn't get this song out of my head!
Ha ha.xx 👉
Lol, underrated comment...
It beat Vienna by Ultravox to number one in the uk
@@TheEvanRoweShow travesty. Vienna is a genius atmospheric song. And then you have this.
This song use to get a lot of radio play. It was very popular.
I had the 45, and saw Dolce perform it on Solid Gold.🌞😊
It reached Number 1 and kept 'you know what' off the top of the charts.........
I remember being 5 yr old and my dad putting this on for me and I stood on his toes we danced to this all the time
Outstanding song!
I'm studying childcare and when I'm doing my practical hours at a nursery and the babies are crying, I softly sing this song to them and it works!
😂
Love that 😂🤣😂🤣
😅😅😅
All rise for the Italian national anthem.

After saving our pennies for years, Mitch and I took a dream vacation back to Japan where we met our wives. Apparently we were having too much fun on our Japan Airlines flight to Tokyo. Our wives were looking at us in disgust so naturally, had to sing this song to them. June 1980.
This song, makes me so happy !! Thank you my friend. Every time I listen to it, I think of you ♥️
Every football fan in the world when England say it’s coming home
Next weeks Scotland number 1 selling single. 😂😂😂
I think they missed a trick not playing this.
Scotland’s new national anthem😂
@@brianmchugh7679 Scotland can hate but they’re jealous because they will never get that far
@@stayawayfromthewoke3412 they will all they need is a top striker
Absolutely right for these gloomy days, love from Spain
Jezzuz time grows long, i heard this when i was an 8 year old boy... Time travels definately :)
