also in the beginning off the game the enemies trash talk you and don’t really respect you, but towards the end especially when you’re killing weaker enemies like storm troopers they’ll be all terrified and scream shit like “we’re all gonna die” lmfao it’s great
Near the end of the game he also starts saying stuff like "I knew you'd jump in there!" or "What's in there BD?" Cal and BD's relationship is definatelly a highlight of the game
Running into that room full of security robots on Ilum almost gave me a heart attack. But when I managed to completely destroy them without dying I felt so fucking badass. This game does skill progression really well and it’s so rewarding
Agreed. I wish I recorded that part. I busted out all to split sabre swings, parry counters, instant kills, etc. and dropped the whole room in like 30 seconds without a scratch. All of the different moves and fight training throughout the whole game, culminated in that one moment for me.
Every time someone sees that room for the first time it is so hilarious. I barely even remember my own experience, but I've watched plenty others do it and everyone's just like: "Ok, what's in here... AAAAAH, WHAT THE FUCK" And then the droids start moving and half the people don't even realize that it's just two at a time and start hacking away, activating other droids as well as executing everything that moves as fast as they can out of sheer gamer panic.
I love the way how Cal remembers his skills through his memories training with his masters. Not only it is a nifty way to add new skills but it added weight to his relationship to his master. It also explains why his skills are very limited. Some gamers complained that Cal has very basic Force powers and no emphasis of light saber techniques. Well, what do you expect from a Padawan who have only learned basic Jedi skills before being hunted down by the Empire? Cal doesn't even know the existence of Vader.
I'm looking forward to the sequel. I'm hoping they'll put an emphasis on the different lightsaber forms through Cal finding training holocrons, and maybe have each form but each has different strengths and weaknesses or something. Example: we already have a basic lightsaber form for Cal in the first game; one that is introductory and easy to use. It can, however, quickly be defeated by a more experienced/Force-strong opponent, such as Vader (Let's face it; without BD-1's stims, some of us wouldn't have finished the game let alone the bosses without those things). Maybe on his journey, he could learn Form II/Dooku's form to counter more easily but sacrifice ease of use to defeat stronger opponents. Just an example but it's whatever.
Dare ka he also forgot that his lightsaber can cut through almost anything, like any door or power cable blocking his way 😅that is one of the strange things with the game, it cuts through beasts, but not any humanoid you encounter like how is that even possible 😂
It's great how the story follows a failed padawan, a fallen jedi, a gambler, and later even included a traumatised nightsister. All with their great fears and past traumas. Imperfection at its highest.
The game also makes you feel like Cal isn't necessarily special, he can't stop the empire and that one line where he says "i cant stop the empire but I can stop you." Or something like that
@@VVraithh probably no relation...it's DICE not Respawn. Respawn does like to do easter eggs to past games, and DICE might too, but they don't include easter eggs from each others games.
I actually really like Cal, I think his journey was well paced and was lightly emotional at times. Great cutscenes (especially scenes with his master) and when he got knighted I was celebrating for him as it felt well deserved.
DarkSpartan FTW I’m not afraid of Spiders or anything, but the way they constantly jumped you from the back with a button mashing event, I hate Kashyyyk more than Dathromir because of those damn jumpscares
Just some Porg with Internet access When I started the albino Spider thing fight, I just spammed heavy attacks while locked on to it. That was the last thing on Kashyyk I needed to complete, and I never went there again. But I still have to play New Journey+ so I guess I’m screwed.
Yeah they added actual diversity to the game and remembered that star wars has more species than humans...which Disney has forgotten and to show diversity they add in every skin color of the rainbow except white
I love the final boss with Vader. Respawn doesn't even bother to make him actually killable. They know someone like Cal is too weak for a guy who pretty much brought down the entire Jedi Order. I was really glad that about three hits in Vader just force choked Cal, and made him run away. It was even better when he just throws Cere away like nothing. No Jedi of that time could really step to Vader. They really respected the placement of power in the Star Wars universe.
I like how Cal is a skilled lightsaber duelist with a wide range of force abilities, but he isn't particularly strong in the force. Is love for them to pursue that more
how could they do that and remain cannon?... i mean.. vader is a key character in the original trilogy.. if kal killed him in the event's between the prequels and originals... it wouldn't make much sense... just from a story writing perspective it's a little ridiculous, before even considering whether or not kal could actually do it.
To see a AAA Like Respawn and EA title come out with actual quality of a game sounds bizarre and unheard of in this day age, so this brings me some kind of hope. All that they really need to get rid off are Goddamn Microtransactions

I wish there was a Game where you could play as a Stormtrooper or some other imperial unit, where you NOT immediately betray the empire and change to the rebels. That would really switch up your POV for once imo
An imperial soldier who's just there to keep the piece. I refuse to believe all imperial was an asshole. Some truly believed they were doing the right thing. At least in some books they show that, like Thrawn and Lost Stars.
I want this too. We could follow the stories of troopers like TK-462 who joined the Imperial Army after the rebels murdered his little sister while trying to rob them. The movies and games really love to glorify the rebels but in the books and comics the rebels are just as bad and at times worse than the Empire.
My favorite part of the game was Vader being as powerful as he is in the movies. The tactical guide saying “escape is the only chance of survival” is icing on the cake
My favorite part is that everytime I see Vader being so damn powerful the realization hits me that the Jedi who will ultimately defeat this unstoppable menace of a man is currently sitting on his family's farm, probably playing with his toy speeder.
Meh, both Cal and Cere miraculously survived their encounter with Vader, and with the holocron. I mean, they did a decent job portraying Vader as an unstoppable force, but I think at least one of the two should have died there.
lmfaooooooooo on god this game is so interpersonal and doesn’t take itself to seriously. I thought I was the only one who lost it when I saw Vader’s description in the enemy files 😂
If you really want to challenge yourself you can do the campaign achievements. Or if you've played it enough times then you can attempt a speedrun. There's also hidden Easter eggs and side missions and out-of-map glitches to explore.

Oh my God somehow they made a. Really hard enemy into cannon folder I was the best Paar of the game made me feel so cool
Every time someone sees that room for the first time it is so hilarious.
I barely even remember my own experience, but I've watched plenty others do it and everyone's just like:
"Ok, what's in here... AAAAAH, WHAT THE FUCK"
And then the droids start moving and half the people don't even realize that it's just two at a time and start hacking away, activating other droids as well as executing everything that moves as fast as they can out of sheer gamer panic.
@@poycixyz4614 yeah I ran in and did the new split saber thing activating almost everything :D
When I first saw that room I went like screw me then I wrecked them all and popped an achievement while dealing with them
I love the way how Cal remembers his skills through his memories training with his masters.
The only thing I'd change about progression would be getting the double jump earlier.
But what other force powers do they want?!
Dare ka he also forgot that his lightsaber can cut through almost anything, like any door or power cable blocking his way 😅that is one of the strange things with the game, it cuts through beasts, but not any humanoid you encounter like how is that even possible 😂

It follows fallible people, allowing us to feel connected to them on deeper levels due to their relatable stories. I LOVE it.

How did deathclaws get there?) Very little roleplaying because you dont have traits or skills anymore, limited dialogue system, and you are voice acted. The most important thing (atleast to me) though, is that the entire faction system has been removed and the quest have become very one-dimensional, Fallout new vegas allowed even the most simplest of quests to have multiple endings. I recommend Shamus Young's video called "Bethesda never understood Fallout" if you really want to get a sense of why people prefer FNV and the original ones
1:22 "I had no desire to see Rise of Skywalker and still haven't." You haven't missed much.
22:24 "This cave is not a natural formation." Sorry, wrong universe.
as somehow who liked the movie i can actually agree lmao
Good to know.
@@NagoTheCat yeah... I started to realise I was losing interest in Star Wars films was when I started imagining memes about the current state of Canon vs Legends (one of which included Vader's intro cutscene in Fallen Order).
Terje I can agree too as someone who thought the movie was passable.
Movie was fine, it just really needed to be 3 hours.
so the story begins as: the main protagonist, Cale, just lost his father and he needs to flee. a few years later, he hides as a junk ship dismantler guy, with his bigger alien friend. but the baddies are looking for him, and they do find him, and he is on the run again, but fortunatelly (and conveniently) a group of friends help him escape with their space ship.
you might think, "hey dude, you are wrong, he lost his master, not his father, and he is Cal, not Cale", and you would be right, except I was talking about Titan A.E.
what a huge reveal at the end!
wonderfully done
The Act Man has the High Ground in quality content
Just Some Guy without a Mustache 12
The damn fourth chaos emerald I see him everywhere too
Bruh stop stalking me
Damn I should start saying that
Do you live on youtube? I see you absolutely EVERYWHERE.
1:33 Oh god. I just realized I have *RAID SHADOW LEGENDS* PTSD cause this scared me.
Google Doxx'd me Bruh just curious is the game actually good though since a lot of youtubers are promoting it?
@@frost1262 Nope a bunch of people who didn't take the sponsor said it was a pretty bad and boring mobile game
Idle-clicker mobile game. Pretty p2w. Boring af. Story non existent beyond the tutorial.
Bad game with good press. That's it.
@@commissionerwarden6347 Played it, got bored instantly
Chris Avellone is one of the best writers to ever touch Star Wars.
Nice profile picture, glad to see lots of TOR and SW:EU fans out there.
Chris avalone is one of the best writers for anything period. He made fallout lore amazing as well
Apart from some creative tantrums and butchering of entire species in Fallout I would agree.
25:25 "Cal sees him self as dark jedi or training younglings, these sections are awesome" visual of Act Man executing order 66 in the background.
We have a Star Wars game that plays like Dark Souls. Now... How about a Star Wars game that plays like Skyrim?
DL2 Don’t get everyone’s hopes up, that could redeem Star Wars tho
DL2 Star Wars game that plays like GTAV 1313 WHEre you at my boy
Lex Luxon tbh Star Wars is being redeemed already
Brittle Bones Nicky yea they are getting back on track... hopefully it stays that way
jensen Taylor that would honestly be cool, a bounty hunter game with gta style (but more realistic less funny) physics
Dathomir has been in Star Wars since ‘the clone wars’
Dathomir actually is older than that. It actually first appeared in the novel 'The Courtship of Princess Leia' in the Legends canon. It's from 1994 according to Wookieepedia.
Hunter Longbrake that was a pretty groovy and trippy book haha
As was ... the black rebel leader that also appeared in rogue one who's name i can't spell.
@@hunterlongbrake6268 The first time I played on a Planet Dathomir was back in the Star Wars Galaxies days.
Hunter Longbrake lol I found that book for school reading like 5 years ago
Honestly I think adding in the last remaining nightsister is the smartest decision ever two dead/dying forces polar opposites of one another both destroyed by the same enemy
Just finished the game after finally getting it last month and I gotta say........
Darth Vader scared the crap out of me.
Same here
literal goosebumps as soon as i heard his breathing
I wish him being in the game wasn't spoiled for me. Some gonk had the bright idea of posting the ending of the game on RUclips the day it came out showing Vader in a screenshot as the thumbnail. Ruined the ending scenes for me, and probably quite a few others now that I think about it.
I was shitting myself in that final sequence. I just love how scary they made Vader. You can’t even try to fight, just run for your life.
Fun fact: Press the door button 66 times in the train flashback sequence, and the game plays a voiceline of Palpatine saying "Execute Order 66."
@Archie Cockram Is it true?
Yeah that’s true, I’ve done it
Archie Cockram it’s most certainly true. Look it up on YT if you need proof
I did it twice. For fun.
unknown user ya it’s true
I liked the plants man. There is a lot of background story you learn about Greeze by collecting them.
Me:getting lost and finding everything
My friends:wow your really good at exploring
The Darth Vader boss (Well, when we ran like hell out of there) Was AMAZING!
As a Metroid fan, I actually enjoyed that you put music from a Metroid game (Metroid Fusion) in your video when you were talking about optional backtracking. Nice subtle nod. Lol Fallen Order is an awesome Star Wars game.
Metroid Fusion is a good ass game! Even if it's more linear than the other Metroids. One of my favs
@@TheActMan absolutely one of my favorites as well man and still play it every now and then on my Gameboy advanced sp. My favorite Metroid game of all time still has to be Metroid Prime 2. Still have my disc for GameCube, the manual, all in pristine condition man. Acting male, you're an awesome bro dude. Lol
Loved this review and Metroid fusion gets hate it doesn’t deserve fallen order was so fun for me I played it two times and am now playing on Jedi master nice review act man
@@TheActMan yo act man hear mmmmeeeeeee out I've been a long time subscribed ever since I can remember and I just want to say that star wars rise of the Skywalker was really not bad (coming from a true star wars fan) it surprise me how good it was, I doubt you would ever read this but if so thanks ✌
If you didn’t know, the creature you can’t kill on Borgano can become your pet. You can see him hiding in the Mantis and sometimes Greez will have dialogue about food missing. You never told him that you kept a pet. Also the plants need time to grow. They’re much cooler after you give um some time.
Eno Cordova feels like that grandpa that always has great stories to tell you. I was genuinely sad during the cutscenes where he said goodbye to BD1 on Ilum :(
I had to watch this again, just because not only do I love it so much but because soon Jedi Survivor is coming out and I know the acting male will make a review on that when the time comes.
